So excited for this Lavazza machine in our room
Samantha B.

Beautiful, historical hotel. Loved the decor and ambience. We stayed in a standard queen room and it was quite roomy. Bed was super comfortable I loved that the sink was separate from the shower/toilet-I can do my makeup and hair while my guy takes a shower etc. There was a little condensation dripping from the AC but it didn't really bother us much The Lavazza machine in our room was a highlight for me Like other reviewers have said-the walls are thin and it's a noisy hotel We stayed on the third floor and had a room that could be adjoining-the rooftop patio/bar is on the 4th floor and so expect to hear music from 5 PM-10 PM/11 PM. We could hear everything our neighbors were doing/talking about, but we just turned the tv volume up We stayed there on Tuesday-Friday but I can imagine it getting a little more louder on Friday/Saturday night All this didn't bother us much, but if you are looking for a peaceful night-this isn't your hotel It was nice that they gave us complimentary chairs/towels/umbrellas but I much prefer to not have to lug everything across the street, plus I prefer lounge chaises Circa 39 Hotel down the street, is the same price, but they actually have their own beach w/ chaises and umbrellas set up-because of this we probably will be staying at Circa 39 next time The restaurant and the rooftop patio were a nice treat-the branzino in banana leaf was one of the best dishes I've ever had Definitely make sure you go to the mothership-Faena-it's just down the street and their breakfast is amazing

Location is great !!The place is old However is very Chick, need a little improvement with technology....The Costumer Services is fabulous!!! Everybody is super nice and professional..they make me feel very welcoming and special ..Jorgito in the front desk was professional and very sweet...The only one thing I didn't apriciate was an Asian woman at the restaurant, very rude...the rest of the staff deserve 10 ....

Location for this hotel is great. Steps from the beach - and lounge chairs and umbrellas are included in your room price. The decor is nice for a historical building. The main interior room is stunning and great for photos. Being a hotel however, the service was mediocre at best. I went to the restaurant and ordered a coffee at around 5pm. The server literally served me cold coffee. When I asked her about it, she told me it was made at 6am which is why it was cold and they don't make more throughout the day. Why serve it to me then??? Why have it on the menu after breakfast time??She told this to me in a way like I should have known this. I sent it back. This is very basic service skill a hotel should have. Pretty unacceptable. I really want to give this hotel more than 3 stars but it's super unfortunate the lacked in service. Thanks for the cold coffee?

What a great choice! Plan to park on the street and walk through the front doors of the hotel. The bartender served the floor and was really friendly and professional. The menu has lots of variety and everything looked good. I had the spinach and cheese empanadas first. They were incredible. Perfect temperature. Cheese the melted and not too hot or cold. Made me wish I had just ordered more for my entree. I had the turkey chili and sweet potato fries. It was really good too. Just enough of a serving to fill you up. I added tabasco and it was just right.

This is a $400 a night bathroom!

So sad this place has potential. But they miss the mark. Price is so overpriced and online photos should be removed as false advertisement. The service is mediocre. No coffee in the rooms but it dose have coffee maker lol. I Went downstairs and complained to the front desk giving them a chance to tell me why the bathroom look laughing like the pictures. I actually showed the girl a picture of the bathroom that was moldy and in desperate need of caulking. Her response to me it was an old which is beside the point. I would recommend I stay somewhere else. The hotel itself is beautiful but the rooms are severely outdated and the bathrooms are disgusting. Also they charged you and resort fee but the hotel has no resort. There is no spa there is no pool so I'm not sure what the resort fee is for I am changing it to a 1 star after I received a lame response from the management.

I traveled to Miami by myself and stayed here from May 8th 2015 until May 13th. The hotel is very pretty on the inside and very clean. The staff are very accommodating and all of them are nice and friendly! I stayed in a queen suite which was huge....I had a small issue with lack of hot water in my shower, I asked to have it fixed twice but I'm not sure it ever got fixed, I took luke warm showers the whole week. The area around the hotel is under a lot of construction and I'm usually a very light sleeper, plus my room was on the side facing the construction, however the noise wasn't as bad as I expected. There is a public parking lot across the street from the hotel, it's free from 6pm-8am (I think) there's also another one at 27th and collier, otherwise if you have to park you'll need to find street parking. I didn't have a car while there but I figure that info is useful for people who will have one. There is access to the beach directly across from the hotel (literally a 2 minute walk if that) with their own lounge chairs and towels for guests to use There is no pool or fitness area in the hotel, but there is a boardwalk/running path on the beach which is super convenient. The restaurant in the hotel has some really good food!! ( the empanadas, burger and the Apple cinnamon bread pudding were my favorites) I ate lunch there most days. There's no breakfast that I saw even though the hotel website shows a breakfast PDF menu. There is a small deli/supermarket across the street and to the left of the hotel that you can get breakfast type things from. I definitely recommend using uber to get anywhere in Miami/Miami beach if you don't have a car. Super convenient, friendly, quick and cheap :) taking an uber from the hotel, it takes about 15 mins to get to south beach (without traffic) about 10 mins to get to Lincoln road mall and about 20-25 mins to get to the shops/entertainment area at bayside (located in downtown Miami near the port of miami) Overall my experience with Casa Claridge was excellent and I would definitely stay here again!

Queen bed room. Modern and awesome.

While on a last minute trip to Miami, I hopped on hotel tonight and booked Casa Claridge the same day I arrived. This turned out to be a home run from multiple standpoints. This hotel was recently renovated and now looks like an artsy paradise. When you walk in the hotel you instantly see a modernly decorated living room which serves as a community room for all guests. It's decked out in red lighting, couches and modern decor all around. The check in process to 45 seconds.. I know because I clocked it. Given that I you're in Miami and want to start enjoying the city, it doesn't get much better than that. The room, which was a basic room with a queen bed, was perfect. Just the right size for two people, modernly updated with white touches, tile floor, and an interesting bathroom set up that houses the sink outside the actual bathroom. The room is just spacious enough and full of light. Though it's modern, the decor seems specifically chosen to represent the classic culture of Miami and display a Spanish paradise vibe. I thought it was perfect. This perfect experience was then brought home by the bar in the lobby. I was fortunate enough to have the best mojito of my life made by the bartender in the hotel. This guy put as much effort into making a blueberry mojito as I've ever seen. It tasted even better then his exceptional effort. Amazing hotel, unique decor, classic Miami vibe and an awesome bar.. What more can you ask for? Well you also get free access to the beach across the street via the hotel. Comes complete with a concierge who walks the beach ensuring you have all that you need.. Winning! The only slight negative to this hotel is that there is only one elevator and it moves quite slowly. Otherwise, complete home run. Excellent experience here and an excellent option when in Miami. Short drive to the heart of south beach, but away from all the madness that comes with it. Congrats to this hotel. You'll definitely see me again!

We stayed for my birthday and had the greatest time at this hotel. From the moment you walk in with Christopher greeting you and he remembered my name the entire stay to the front desk young ladies we had a blast. The rooms were really clean and nice we had the Queen suite and it was laid out nice. ERIC the bartender was the greatest with his drinks and so much knowledge of the entire Miami scene!! He was AWESOME!!! He gave us lots of places to go to while we were there! We even extended our stay and the hotel staff worked to make sure we stayed with them!! And accommodated us with a room even though they were pretty full! Will def visit this hotel again!

Update: This was part of a pre honeymoon cruise mini vacation. This was in 2006, so things may have changed. I have understand there is new ownership, and the hotel is renovated. This could be really good. You should check it out! Original review: A street away from the ocean. Pretty hotel inside and out. It has character. Out of r first room had hair on the beds. The room did not feel barefoot clean. Management said they didn't have other rooms except an Alcove Suite of which was more expensive. They seemed hesitant to switch us. Of course, guests expect you to make the n happy, and we politely expressed this sentiment. Management finally decided to give us the suite at no extra cost. It still didn't feel barefoot clean, but it was cleaner and had cute character. Breakfast was average. Oh. They didn't have our reservation on file, we booked thru last minute deals. So it was a hassle just getting into the room.

Cool lobby.
John B.

I liked the way the place looked, but what an unusual establishment. The front desk is a table, and you might have to wait a little if you get in late. Parking is terrible. Try to get a place in front. It is a good deal to park there. Food good, room good, but you can't go to the Faena and use the pool. They recommended we try and crash a different pool. I recommend they fix that problem soon. Top floor is nice but loud as hell.

Really easy beach access and access to the cobblestone walking area at the back of the hotel where you can ride a bike or walk. If you are an early bird, definitely recommend getting up early and utilizing the complimentary bike rentals. I believe you get 2 free hours which is more than enough time for an early morning ride. We rode our bikes to Starbucks, drank our coffee and then rode back. Again, try leaving early because the area gets really busy with walkers, runners, bikers and also people on rollerblades. One other thing to note is that we visited around July 4th. To view the multiple firework shows, grab a chair and walk along the beach. The pool area had great entertainment and games including bean bags and ping pong. The pool itself was not the largest pool but we were able to find a place to lounge each time. The pool was also heated which typically I would say was a plus but in July, it was a bit much at times. Great staff, very friendly and always smiling. Let's talk about the rooms. The rooms were above average in terms of design and cleanliness. The bathroom was an interesting one. Small. Too small. Made it hard to enjoy the shower or find places to put your stuff. The weird thing is that there were two closets. A large one specifically on the opposite wall of the bathroom. Why did they not use that space instead to make the bathroom bigger? No clue. As always be careful if you remove stuff from the fridges since you will get charged on your room bill. I have stayed at hotels such as Loews and Fontainebleau and this one is definitely a step below those hotels. Would I stay there again? Absolutely.

From the moment we arrived with check-in, getting our bags to our room, we were treated like true VIPs. Once we got to the room, we had time to change and head to the pool. The evenings were great as we were able to sit out on the balcony and relax, while at the same time being in the lobby or hitting the restaurant was always great. We took advantage of the on-site yoga classes and the beach every day while we were there. The beach area was nice, in the servers supporting the beach I felt did their best to accommodate all of the guests outside. If you're a frequent AMEX user, I would definitely recommend going through your AMEX as it really did just make a difference. The grounds were well kept the pool was clean. The staff was friendly and most importantly, we had an overall great experience. I would definitely recommend it for anybody coming to South Beach to come here, as it's centrally located and it's easily accessible to lots of other activities you may want to consider.

The staff were generally friendly, and a few were especially helpful. They handled three packages I had shipped to the hotel efficiently, though there was a sizable per-package fee. Small touches like afternoon boozy gelato samples and a lobby change machine for breaking $20s into $5s were appreciated. Breakfast at Lolo's was decent. My Marriott status included breakfast for two, though the included menu was much shorter than the regular one and the portions were modest. Still, the food was cooked to order, tasted good, and the servers kindly let me order both breakfasts since I was traveling alone. I didn't try the Japanese restaurant on site, but I heard good things and enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants instead, especially La Grande Boucherie. I paid a substantial premium for an oceanfront double room, but I'm not sure I would do that again. The balcony and glass door were fairly small, and the balcony felt boxed in for privacy. Next time I might prefer a cheaper park-side room on a higher floor, which could still offer a nice park and ocean view. The biggest disappointment was the late checkout. My Marriott Platinum Elite status is supposed to include guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, but the hotel would not honor it. Each day I was told to check again later, and in the end they could only offer 1 p.m. That created real scheduling problems, since I had planned around the advertised benefit. With no good place in the hotel to work or take calls after checkout, I ended up going to the airport hours early. The status is supposed to provide a room upgrade, but that wasn't available either. A couple of other issues matched complaints I had seen in recent reviews. One elevator stopped for several minutes with a group of us inside and did not respond to the buttons, which was uncomfortable even though the door eventually opened. I also received a call inviting me downstairs for a "welcome gift," which turned out to be a Marriott Vacation Club sales pitch. That should be presented more honestly. Overall, this was a decent stay and I might return. But given the failure to honor the guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, I would compare other options carefully before booking again.

We stayed in Room 6, which had a private outdoor courtyard with a bathtub. The room was described in terms of minimalist design and Scandinavian style, but to me it felt more like an industrial Scandinavian dormitory-motel room than a spa hotel room. The beige speckled linoleum flooring reminded me of grade school, and the toilet had a foot-operated flush lever like those in public restrooms. There was a small marble sink on a wooden stand, a wooden futon with a red-and-white striped cover, and three windows with wooden blinds. Tiny tables extended off the bed, just large enough for a Kindle, phone, and glass of water. I fell asleep listening to the blowing noise from the air conditioning, followed by about 15 minutes of a popcorn popping sound. On the positive, the room was kept at a comfortable temperature and two pairs of ear plugs were provided. Our room, booked through the American Express Hotel Collection, included a $30-per-person breakfast credit that could be used for a room service breakfast or at Lido Bayside Grill. With only a small metal-and-plastic folding table for dining in our room, I chose the beautiful bayfront view at Lido instead! The private courtyard was attractive, with white pebbles and a flowering tree. Fabric panels and a hanging curtain served as the walls and door separating our courtyard from the neighbors and the walkway. The door curtain fluttered open in the breeze, so it didn't feel especially private with people walking by. We could hear our neighbors talking next door, which made it rather awkward to sit naked in the tub at night, knowing that when we stood up, our silhouettes could be visible through the fabric panels. The tub was just large enough for the two of us to sit facing each other. The spa and pool facilities and bayfront location really made this hotel. We loved the large waterfront pool, comfortable padded loungers, and gradual sloping entry into the water. The adults-only atmosphere was relaxing, and the views across Biscayne Bay toward the Miami skyline were beautiful. The poolside service was great, and everyone was so nice. The spa offered an impressive variety of experiences, including a hammam with heated stone platforms and soaking tubs, a eucalyptus steam room, sauna with a view of the bay, rainfall shower, Ice Room (actually a room with chilled air rather than ice), and relaxation area. I particularly enjoyed moving between the warm and cool spaces. We also appreciated the complimentary wellness classes. My husband and I attended Tai Chi with Jackie, who guided us through gentle movements while we enjoyed the views of the water, palm trees, and sky. It was a wonderful way to begin the morning. She did a great job explaining the movements. The poolside and Lido staff were helpful, including Richard, Sophia, Jabar, and Eric, who assisted us during our stay. Megan was especially sweet, offering restaurant suggestions and explaining the complimentary water bicycle and kayak rentals. We enjoyed relaxing at Lido Bayside Grill, particularly the waterfront views and Mon - Thurs Happy Hour from 4-6 pm with $12 cocktails. It was a lovely place to sit by the water and watch the changing light over the bay. Overall, I would happily return for the spa, pool, wellness classes, and relaxing waterfront atmosphere. For a hotel at this price level, I expected a more comfortable and attractive room. I think the room could have a more inviting atmosphere with wood-look flooring, wooden tables in the bathroom and bedroom, and some artwork. A way to secure the bottom of the courtyard door curtain to prevent it from fluttering open would also be helpful. The Standard Spa offers a unique experience with its lush gardens, inviting sitting areas, wonderful spa and pool facilities, and bayfront dining. Despite my disappointment with the room, I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay. Thank you to the wonderful staff at The Standard!

Fontainebleau Miami Beach -- Old Hollywood Glamour Meets Modern Miami!…read more I spent several wonderful days at Fontainebleau Miami Beach during a May vacation, and it was one of the most memorable resort experiences I've had! Fontainebleau is much more than a luxury hotel. It's an experience. From the moment you enter the spectacular lobby, you feel the glamour, sophistication, and excitement that have made this property legendary. There's something special about enjoying a cocktail in a hotel that evokes the golden age of Miami Beach while offering all the energy of a modern luxury resort. The pool area was one of my favorite features. I loved relaxing in the sunshine, enjoying the lively atmosphere, and watching the fascinating mix of people enjoying their vacations. The entire setting has a wonderful sense of energy and excitement. I also enjoyed the spa experience, which provided a welcome opportunity for relaxation and pampering. It's a delightful contrast to the lively social atmosphere elsewhere in the resort. The lobby bar was another highlight. I enjoyed espresso martinis, cocktails, dining, and people-watching in a setting that manages to feel both sophisticated and exciting. It's the kind of place where simply sitting with a drink and enjoying the atmosphere becomes an experience in itself. What I particularly loved about Fontainebleau was the feeling it gave me. Some vacations are about peace and quiet. This one was about glamour, confidence, vitality, and enjoying life. Fontainebleau captures that spirit beautifully. If you're looking for a quiet, secluded retreat, this may not be your ideal destination. But if you enjoy beautiful surroundings, lively pools, sophisticated cocktails, a luxurious spa, and the excitement of Miami Beach, Fontainebleau is an extraordinary place. Five stars! A glamorous, vibrant, unforgettable resort experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would love to return!

This is very much a party hotel. If you're in your 20s looking for a high-energy atmosphere, it may be perfect. If you're arriving after a long flight hoping for a drink, light bite, and a relaxing evening, this is not that hotel. Our stay included a $100 "resort credit," which we discovered--after charging nearly $100 to our room--was only valid at one restaurant, Vida. Calling that a resort credit is misleading and should be communicated much more clearly. We also requested and received a noon checkout instead of 11:00 a.m. Despite having the DND sign out, housekeeping knocked before 10:00 a.m. We had also gone to the front desk to get a new key specifically for the late checkout. After breakfast, we walked the considerable distance back to our room and the key didn't work. We returned to the front desk, got another key, walked all the way back--and that key didn't work either. We then waited for security who also tried our key and confirmed it didn't work, and said this is very common with the front desk staff they employ at this hotel. Very frustrating for something that should have been simple. Miami Beach has far too many excellent hotels for me to choose Fontainebleau again.
