There are instructions by the doorways since it can be a tiny bit confusing where to enter but won't cause you any delay. Just off the riverwalk, you'll find the most tranquil atmosphere in the oasis and absolute gem that is Casa Dōson. The customer service was exceptional and the owner Sonia was super sweet. My partner's massage therapist Betty was also really nice and quite funny. Narcissa did my massage and it was AMAZING! We discussed my most troublesome area which she helped me with but, honestly, she managed to find and work on every knot and tense muscle. My fiancé and I were visiting San Antonio after seeing family in corpus. We wanted to relax and get a message. It was last minute. They were really full but they fit us in somehow and we were really grateful. We had to check out of our hotel that day so we were a little late and I had to have my service animal with us. I felt terrible that we had all those things be a factor but they accommodated us at every turn and I couldn't have been happier with the message and the service and the kindness. I had a stunning experience here. The advantage is that it's not a chain and so you get treated like a person. I booked a last minute appointment for a 90 minute deep massage. I had so much pain in my shoulder and during my treatment Donny used what tools would help me rather than up charging for every little addition. As a result I now have experience with more types of treatments and can better understand how they'll help me. I wish I lived here and could become a regular. When we called to make our bookings, Sonia was so kind to help us figure out what we should book and she even answered our questions about San Antonio and made really great recommendations on things to do- something she did not have to do! I am visiting from California and my massage at Dōson was something I did for relaxation after traveling. I haven't had a massage since early March, because I had a horribly traumatic experience where a massage therapist had a phone out and was using their phone during my entire massage, without my consent. I have been scared to get a massage ever since. When I explained that I was hesitant because of this, Donny met me with so much care and consideration. He began explaining to me where he saw my muscle imbalances and where he'd be doing what so I knew what to expect- this was SO thoughtful. During the massage, he checked in often, asking if the pressure was okay and how I was doing. The massage itself was one of the best Ive ever had- and I've had a lot throughout my life with a stepmom as a massage therapist.
