Tuesday, 2-11-2025: My dear friend treated me here in celebration of my retirement. My daughter joined us later. We enjoyed the warm hospitality and the delicious food here. Lucy came over to check on us several times. She is so sweet & friendly. My friend has frequented this eatery for a while but it was a first time for me and my daughter. I love the decor and murals. It's so colorful, cozy, and very clean. We all enjoyed the meals and my friend was not exaggerating! I ordered the Chile Relleno and it was amazing! We love to support small businesses and cannot wait to return here with the entire family!

I went to lunch today with my uncle and I told him that I want some good Mexican food. He said "Say no more" and brought me to Casa de Lucy. Right as we walked through the door, I knew that it would be some good food. We sat down and they were attentive right away. In California, it's hard to find a good salsa and they have one here. I'm used to a red salsa like Arizona and most places in California have pico style. My uncle has only eaten one thing at this restaurant and it's the Green Chili Plate. The portions here are large and the plates are hot. He says this is the best Green Chili in San Diego and he ate the whole thing. I decided to order the Chicharonnes Plate because it's a delicacy and something you can't find anywhere. The Chicharonnes were smothered in a spicy red sauce. I mixed it together with the beans, rice, salsa and slapped it into a flour tortilla. Near one of the best I've ever had. The service and staff here is very attentive, the food is amazing, and it has that little Mexican food charm. It's the type of atmosphere that you know the food will be good right as you walk on in. If you haven't been here, you need to visit. My rating is a 9.5/10.

Amazing food, warm staff with excellent service. You won't find better food for the price anywhere in the region. The portions were huge and everything was made with love using fresh ingredients. I was shocked at how fast everything was ready given how good the food was. I felt like I was sitting in my Tia's kitchen, eating lunch with family. I will definitely be back.

The most authentic delicious food and service is amazing. Lucy herself will serve you.!! Every time I'm in Temecula. I make a stop at Casa de Lucy.

This place is impeccably clean. It's a hole in the wall in the sense that it's in a strip mall, but the restaurant is well done on the inside. The decor is very cute and so clean. Lucy was working when we got there! The food was delicious! It's hard to come by well cooked Mexican food in Temecula and this is now our go to spot. The service was quick and friendly. We got the albondigas, a wet burrito, and a combination plate. The rice and beans here are the bees knees. Also, perfect joint for a michelada when you're hungover

Ground beef tacos with beans and rice

Great food and great service. Nice little Mexican Food place in Temecula. The asada tacos was really full of tender asada that was flavorful and not chewy or fatty. Hubby enjoyed the ground beef tacos very much. The rice and beans tasted fresh and we're even better with salsa added on top, yum! The free chips and salsa that were served while waiting for our meal were also good, especially the salsa. Not too hot, but very tasty.

We brought family here who hadn't tried this place. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The only complaint was that the lengua still had the skin on it, but they ate around it and was tasty. Authentic Mexican food. Easy parking, no wait. Thumbs up!

Beautiful and comfortable interior.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in a nondescript strip mall. Beautiful, yet cozy and homey interior. Nice quiet music was playing. Custom framed art lined the walls that is for sale. Vickie, our server was friendly and made sure our glasses were never empty. The chips were warm and perfectly salted. The salsa that accompanied the chips was some of best fire roasted salsa I've had. Growing up in So Cal, we have a lot of good Mexican food. Casa de Lucy is a notch above most. We had Chile Verde con Carnitas, Chicken Tacos and Carne Asada Sopes. The sides of rice, beans and guacamole were also tasty. Everything we ate was some of the best home made Mexican cooking, just like my mom used to make. No can openers or microwaves here! The real treat was the Flan. It was denser and creamier than any Flan I've ever had. It was decadent!

I haven't been here in about 8 or 9 years and the food is as good now as it was then. I ordered a 2 combination plate, chicken suiza enchilada and chili relleno. If I just said it was good, it would be grossly understating how really good it is. If you get to Temecula please try the food out. The service was great, the ambia nce good and food is so very very good. Run don't walk to eat this very wonderful food.

Carne asada burrito has very little meat and a ton of beans. I don't mind paying $10 for a burrito as long as it has some meat in it.

Probably not. But the food is solid, reliable, and always enjoyable, which is exactly why I keep coming back. Now, if you're a fan of drinks, music, and a festive atmosphere, this place definitely brings the party. It has that lively, colorful Mexican restaurant vibe, and I personally love that they have live music on certain days. My little one and I especially enjoy sitting outside in their enclosed patio area. It's such a nice little setup! Depending on the day and time, it can get pretty packed, but I've honestly never had a bad experience here. The staff is always friendly, the atmosphere is fun, and the food is something you can count on. So no, I'm not going to crown Guadalajara the king of all Mexican food--but sometimes you don't need culinary fireworks. Sometimes you just want good food, a fun atmosphere, some music, and a place that consistently delivers. And Guadalajara does exactly that.

With that being said, parking can be difficult because Old Town tends to get very busy on a Saturday. We walked in and it was not busy. The host/server told us to pick any table we would like. We chose outside, but they had just cleaned up the area, so our chairs were stacked. The host/server quickly helped us get the chairs down and place them at our table. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us. Now the food. When we were sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were perfect and not overly salty or greasy. The salsa was very mild and had a great flavor. I ordered a 2 taco combo plate ($14.95) with carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

I noticed Espadín had tables and thought it was worth a shot. Also, it was getting really hot and I was ready for some air conditioning. We were seated immediately and our server got our drinks. We ordered a grilled Caesar salad, green chilaquiles with eggs, and guacamole. The guacamole was so fresh and had a great lime flavor. The grilled Caesar was the star of the show! The dressing was amazing. The chilaquiles were also good. I was a little nervous at first since they weren't busy when we walked in compared to the other restaurants on the street, but it ended up being a great surprise how good everything was!

Ok, ok...I can hear you know, "What?, it's his third review of this place...blah, blah,blah..."…read moreYes, it is my third review! I absolutely LOVE this place... Today, the rockstar employees making this lunch most EXCELLENTE were the hostess, Kaylee, and our server Laura (plus the beverage and chips dudes that never let our drinks go empty, and keep the delicious chips & salsa full...) This is what a fan-boy (actually fan-old man) I am about how good this place is....I based my vehicle service appointment so I could get in/out and to The Mexico Cafe when they opened at 11am....Now is that dedication or what. ;) We arrived at 10:55am, and spot on at 11am, hostess Kaylee opened the doors and welcomed us in....She couldn't have been more friendly, and inviting, treating us like family! We were seated and Laura was on it with our drink order (my wife had the Margarita Flight (4 different mini margaritas, today being Strawberry, Apple Pie, Pumpkin and Midori) My loved them and she got a little lunch time buzz to have with her tasty lunch order (no worries, I was driving and had an ice tea, so she could have enjoy the creative & tempting margaritas, I'm a giver, what can I say... ;) My wife had the lunch special (a great price and lots of food) and I had the Carne Asada Burrito, with carne asada inside, topped with cheese and Chile Colorado, they let me sub the rice/beans for their house salad which was scrumptious.... The bathrooms are always spotless (yes I did go after my 4 ice teas) The Mexico Cafe has consistently Excellent Service, Delicious Food, and Fair Prices, plus it's family owned....a major plus in my book.... I always spot a family member of the restaurant, on site, helping out and making sure everyone is happy....Ive never seen a sad or unhappy face in this joint....Thats why this place is such a success ***** Thank you RockStar employees "Kaylee" and "Laura" for yet another incredible and delicious lunch experience..... P.S. The seasonal decorations here are on another level....Their current Halloween decorations knock it outta the park...Can't wait for Christmas...

There was side dishes, enchiladas, tamales, beef and pork entreet, chicken entrees, potato sides, 3 choices of soup, a crepe station and an omelet station. I enjoyed all the food offerings I was able to eat. Oh, and they had mini chile rellenos that were really good! The service was wonderful and the place was packed. They went all out decorating for Halloween so the ambiance was spot on for the holiday. They'll also be decorating for Christmas which will most likely happen after Halloween. We plan to return so that we can sample other offerings at the buffet. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of our food because I was so mesmerized by their amazing decorations. It was like being at Disneyland.
