Decided to give them another shot with the cafe de olla, but I was still a little disappointed. The cafe tasted burnt and bitter. However, I did try the cinnamon roll and that was delicious. Their pastries and crepes seem great, I would just skip out on the coffee. read more

I've been going to Casa de Café now for about two months straight. I am addicted to their. Horchata latte and pumpkin spice latte. The attention to detail to their drinks and also food is amazing if you're ever hungry come here and get one of their lights, snacks or crêpes to be honest almost everything on the menu is amazing. The atmosphere here is nice and cool and everyone behind the counter is very nice and knowledgeable. Recommend this place 10 out of 10 read more

So DEE*LISH*US yummm I love this place. Coffee 10/10 and the frappes, sheeeesh. The best!!! My favorite is the horchata mixed with coconut frappe! If your a chocolate lover, the Mexican chocolate is a MUST!! So yummy and chocolateyyyy! The crepes are out of this world!!! Maybe we came on a bad day, but as they say "first impressions are everything". It was a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. Maybe about 4 people in Casa de Cafe. So we figured this should be quick! All we wanted was a iced coffee (black) and a coffee with milk to go. Well, we figured wrong. It took an amazing, 15 minutes to get our drinks. The guy, who I believed to be the owner was training someone on the register and the 3rd worker off to the side was looking lost. She was standing around doing nothing. Now, this wait only warrants 1 minus star but while we were waiting we saw fly's landing on the food that was about to go out to the people sitting down. It grossed us out. So that's another -1. Also it should be said that they don't' cook some if any pastries in house. They buy them from Sam's Club. We saw them pull them out of the Sam's Club box. Last but not least was the taste of the coffee. It was pretty bad. Tasted like it was burnt. read more

the coffee taste so good! i love how it takes you back to latin roots. The girl working the front desk saw i was stuggling with the menu and made great recommendations. My drink was first to come out and then my sons pancakes, which by the time they were out i was half way done with my drink, that's how good it was. There's lot of space, and a cute section to take pics. read more

Worst coffee I've ever had in my life. I wanted an iced cafe latte half sweet with oat milk, something I usually order at coffee shops. They said they do not have iced cafe lattes, they have cappuccinos that you can order iced as a medium or large. To be self-named as "house of coffee" that is already a red flag. Cappuccinos only come in one size and are a hot drink only. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a large iced cappuccino with oat milk anyways. There is a sign that says "We control the sweetness", I'm not 100% sure what that means but I'm assuming that you cannot adjust the sweetness like you can at other coffee shops. I read the reviews and saw that their drinks are really sweet, I hate sweet drinks so I ordered drinks so I ordered it without any sweetener. I don't know what the heck was wrong with that coffee, it was savory and it tasted like a tamale. I tried to add sugar after the fact but it didn't do much, there was an odd taste to their coffee that I've never come across before. I'm not sure if their oat milk is the culprit or if their coffee is. One major thing I noticed is that they have powder that they use with a Blender Ball (the cups with lids that you shake) when they make their drinks. I don't think I heard them use their espresso machine once. I'm pretty sure that their coffee is dehydrated and that is why you cannot adjust the sweetness because it has sweetener in the powder. As a coffee lover I found this disturbing. Hopefully they will change their coffee process. read more

I was excited to visit this new cafe at the Quad in Whittier. My son came by over the holidays and said it was pretty good. I ordered the Azteca Moca and it tasted too sweet, and not enough like espresso. I would not come here if you are a serious coffee drinker since the drinks appear to skew towards more of the dessert-type drinks. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but that is just not me. There are plenty of customers coming in and out of the cafe, and many seem to order the food. I may try that next time. The person taking my order was nice and friendly, and explained the differences between the drinks to me, which I appreciate. read more

Visited this place today and I was so disappointed. I wish I would of read the review where it talks about the caramel latte cause omg so true. My daughter and I are both coffee drinkers.. she likes it sweeter than me so ordered two caramel lattes iced and one of them less sweet. They were not good and tasted NOTHING LIKE CARAMEL or COFFEE. My daughter even said it was more like chocolate milk. I went to the counter and nicely said that it tasted nothing like caramel or coffee and see what we could do and the girl said, well I made them so I know they are caramel one (she was nice) but come on. So then I'm like, mmm can I maybe add a shot to each to see if it helps? And she's like yeah I'll change you at the front $3 for that and still didn't help. Ended up throwing them away. I will say the strawberry banana Nutella crepe was basic. Hard to cut and nothing inside the creparé only what you saw on top and the plate of chilaquiles was ok. I would say Nothing out of the ordinary for both. Definitely everything overpriced for the taste of all of it. definitely won't be coming back. Don't call it casa de cafe if your drinks won't taste like coffee or the kind ppl choose. read more

Yummy crepes except their crepes are cold. Went there on 7/10 and dined in. My crepes were cold by the time it was served to me. The cafe was empty. My husband and I were the only two people there. Went back again on 07/13 and took it to go. Same thing crepes were cold and the only customers they had was my brother & I. The frontdesk girls were very nice and had very good customer service. I just wish crepes were warm and fresh. read more

I wanted to like this place. Had the crepe with strawberry, banana and Nutella. The crepe tasted like the pre-packed ones at Costco. PLUS, it was tough to cut. Overall, dry and bland. Nothing inside the crepe, what you see on the top are all the toppings. Maybe their coffee is better. Want a crepe nearby? Head to Crepes Bonapart inside the Whittier Brewery. read more

Today was my first time going here with my sister-in-law I didn't want to give a bad review but the Cafe de Olla tasted a lot like tap water and the Nutella crepe did not have any Nutella inside just a little drizzle on top it was dry and also a little bit burnt, the only good thing about it were the strawberries and bananas and the whipped cream. I think that this place has a lot of improvement to work on. On the upside the employees were very nice! And yes my sister-in-law still ate it because she didn't want it to be a waste of money, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best read more

Casa de Cafe is delicious. My husband and I split a savory and sweet crepe and both were fantastic. Our sweet crepe was a Nutella and tres leches combo and the savory was Turkey with panela cheese. I didn't know that you could combine ingredients, but basically everything can be customized. E also ordered the Aztec latte and a cafe de olla latte. BOMB. I will be coming back and recommend this cafe to anyone. read more

Another 5 star for this adorable quaint coffee and crepe shop. My husband invited me and I wasn't going to say no! Lol so off we go and we opted to share the chicken chipotle crepe with a side salad. It was perfect since I wasn't very hungry. The sauce was delicious and just the right spiciness. My husband enjoyed his large horchata latte and I chose the peach passion tea which was so refreshing. They offer you either a yellow tea or white. He got me yellow. I wonder what the difference is. We will be back for many other options on their menu. read more

Pleasantly surprised when we walked in for a crepe, this used to be a Starbucks but you wouldn't know unless you'd been there before. It was cozy, nice natural lighting and tables for 2 to 6. You can use the iPad at the counter to place your order or a cashier is available to take your order. The crepes are shareable sized and the fruit or syrup options may have something for everyone. We added ice cream for an extra charge but honestly you can skip on it. I'd definitely go back again. The carelessness of this individual makes me question the attention to detail needed to insure their kitchen is clean for public consumption. We won't be back, nor will we order our company lunches/dinners from here and we will be telling everyone we know to use uptown provisions for everything now.

My daughter came for a specific sandwich that she loves, and said it was equally good at this location. I came for the chicken and waffles, I asked for tenders instead of bone-in chicken pieces, and unfortunately it was not as good as the Alhambra location. The battered coating is different and completely falling off of the tenders, the waffle was a little overcooked as well. The Alhambra location uses a panko crusted breading and it's so good and crunchy! I don't think I would return to this location.
