Meh. I was excited to try it and my food was pretty good but the service and feel wasn't great. The person at the register really made it feel like me asking anything was an inconvenience. When I paid, I noticed the price charged was higher than the menu price and asked about it politely. They told me it was taxes. I pointed out in response that the tax was in the next separate line under the fee for the item and their response felt like an episode from American dad: When Roger is buying a video camera at best buy. He asks the sales person: "What is the difference between digital and optical zoom" Sales person answers: "nothing. They are the same" " Roger: "but the box says they're different " Sales person: "oh you're right. Well let me know if you have any other questions" I also ordered my mollete dairy free and egg free and it came out it had a white spread ( butter or mayo?) under the beans. It was disappointing after I reminded the person who took my order and it felt they were dismissive. The atmosphere was nice, I like that they serve lard free beans and the food was pretty good but I would not come back here. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! Inside is very cute and quaint! Stopped for a coffee, there was no one there when we arrived however the space filled up quick. Limited parking on side of building. Mocha was good! Banana bread was alright, I liked the nuts in it and had a buttery crust however got the end piece so was a bit dry/hard. In reading a review from a year ago, it stated broken window and the window is still broken up front. The tables in the center state no laptops but can work on laptops at the window area. read more

I love the ambiance in this coffee shop. I love the decor and the cleanliness. I loved that they use sourced ceramics for serving their drinks and food from Mexico but when we went, the cups were from IKEA, It's a nice place to go and work. It's quiet and has a lot of good natural light. I'm a bit sad that they do not offer decaffeinated coffee because I quit caffeine. I took one of my friends from out of town and I was disappointed since I do not drink caffeine, I asked for a chai tea, which really had too much sugar and I could not drink it. I wish they left the decision to add sugar to the customers and not automatically put it into their mixtures. . My tea was cold, and I could not even tell if it had tea in it. Fantastic coffee and breakfast, and a lovely, homey atmosphere that's a nice change from the now standard sanitized coffee shop (and of course Starbucks). Had the cappuccino, which is sourced from small farmers in Mexico. We loved it - it had a subtle, not smack you in the face, flavor, and a long finish. For breakfast the croissant and pumpkin bread were fresh and tasty. But the highlight was the avocado toast with prosciutto and egg. Wow. Best breakfast I've had in months. The subtle spiced Mexican oil sauce that came with it added lovely flavor as well. Warm, authentic atmosphere with cultural decor, and outside seating as well. read more

Cutest little coffee spot off of Mesa. I'm always respectful of businesses keeping beautiful old buildings alive like this. The interior was comfy and sunny, had a nice mellow vibe going on. It was a bit crowded with people working on their laptops so we had to take our drinks to go, I do wish I'd had the space to order brunch. Flat white was average. Mocha lacked the chocolaty flavor one expects with such a drink. I'll probably be back solely for the aesthetic. read more

We stopped by Casa Cafetzin for coffee yesterday, and it was an overall average experience. The inside is well-decorated, and there is a large table as well as a bar with additional chairs by the window to work at. For our drinks we ordered 2 lattes which had a good flavor, but they were quite expensive for the small size. In the future, we would be more likely to come back to order coffee and work or catch up with friends, but we might choose a spot with a better value when just taking our drinks to go. read more

OMG THIS IS THE CUTEST COFFEE SHOP EVER!! I found this establishment thru a Yelp search for coffee roaster in the El Paso area. I dropped in and got a chocolate mocha which was delicious and a bowl of green chicken posole for my husband. This is a really quaint spot on Mesa...loved the ambiance. We went on a Monday around 9 am and almost every seat was taken so maybe it's not that hidden. I generally look forward to coming here when I come to town, but today's service was concerning. I feel like the guy I'm ordering from has an issue with me off the bat. I ignore it and order. I'm sitting on the bench with no table to set items, he hurriedly thrusts the cappuccino in my hand. I drop it, never addresses it with me and leaves me with this mess. For as cool as this place looks I sure wish I was treated better as a customer, honestly the way they looked at me when I walked in you'd have thought I was going to do an IRS audit. Cute little coffee shop off of Mesa Street one might easily miss if you're not paying close attention to your GPS! Casa Cafetzin is adjacent to a motel but damn it is so freakin' cute and adorable. I got there within the last hour of them being open on a Sunday; however, I will def be going back! They were sadly out of their cold brew so they directed me to their Freddo Cappuccino. I enjoyed it with oat milk but can't wait to try their cold brew when I'm back next time in town. The chocolate croissant was flaky and every bite was decadent with the right amount of chocolate:bite ratio. This shop is really neat and very photogenic. This place reminds me of some great coffee shops with their own personalities in Mexico City. Ah, international travel.... I love the space, the tranquility, and most importantly, the coffee from Casa Cafetzin. They don't have a big menu. They don't have lots flavor. And they don't even have skim milk... The coffee, ah yes, it is on the spot. Whenever I go to a new city, I look for its coffee shops. Whenever I go to a new coffee shop, I start with a skim latte. Now, there is no skim latte here, so I went with a regular latte. Spot on. It's not as bold as the one you would get from 2Ten or Bldg 6, but it's definitely not as faint as what you would find in Hillside or Kinley's. The espresso base in moderate, fragrant, and stands in its place just as it should be. It's like a good cup of high mountain tea, memorable, but not overpowering, just like this place and the baristas here. Warning: don't bother to come if you need your coffee flavored. Lol read more

The staff there has gone to pot, they've really gotten rude toward remote workers and could use some time at a charm school. I've always been mindful of not occupying a space if it is needed, but for some reason the staff there has gotten aggressive in reminding customers that your money doesn't matter if you have a laptop. The last 2 times there I've spent just under $20.00 and yet I've not been given the respect to decide for myself if I either want to order yet another drink and then move to an uncomfortable and recently vacated counter spot or pack up and leave, I was simply just told I had to move from the table. This is a real turn-off when there is no one waiting for one and you want to assess whether to stay longer all while knowing you're not an impediment to their business. I've visited the place on and off since it opened and I've never had an issue until their recent hire. Now, even though there are signs on the tables to signify to move to the counters, the staff doesn't want to give you a chance to decide, they just want to press the issue and rush you on. The food there is nothing spectacular and their tiny pastries are way over priced so a different venue to visit once in awhile for a latte/coffee is really the only reason for me to go there. But now their staff has ruined that. Someday they'll learn that repeat patronage and a welcoming attitude toward that patronage matters. When the only thing you hear from them is an unpolite move, it's time to permantly move along. For those interested, there are some great alternatives out there. Savage Goods, District Coffee, 2Ten and others are places that do much higher volumes but never make you feel unwelcomed by pushing you out the door for no good reason. read more

I love that I finally had a chance to check this place out! It was very light and cheerful inside. I forgot to see if there were many outlets, but there were at least some at the high top at the window. I sat outside and was pleasantly surprised how cozy it felt with their little garden, despite being right off a very busy road. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful and brought my order outside to me when it was ready. The menu is short and sweet, but they cover all the bases with hot/cold beverages, sweets, & savories. I tried an iced dirty chai with oat milk and that was incredible! It's been years since I've been here but it looks like the place is thriving with additions to the menu to include food and desserts. I ordered a mocha but it's definitely not your ordinary mocha. It's was Mexican chocolate with its own rich, dark sweetness with a layer of oat milk. They also have menudo, tamales, and pozole. I'd say it's a nice little getaway if you ask me. read more

I was really impressed when Casa first opened. They were coffee enthusiasts and aimed to perfect each cup with the right balance of milk and espresso. I asked if they serve larger sizes and they said no because it would impact the ratio! From the initial visit I was so excited to return this past month. I don't know if they are overwhelmed with more customers now or have turned mainstream. This experience was far from the first. The guy who made my drink made "latte art" with a wooden stick. Service is awful. 20-30 minutes for any coffee, because they choose to make one at a time as slow as possible and hand deliver them without any additional staffing. When questioned and asked for a refund they got attitude that they were the only one working. Last time I looked I didn't own the business, but if I did the service would be far superior. Still waiting for my refund and will dispute the charge if I don't see it on my card. Such a same as the ambiance is nice, but the service is always terrible. After today we will not be back.
