But the cheeseburger I had at White Grill is by far the best burger I've ever had in my life! I asked the cook if they added seasoning or anything to their meat and he said no, so I'm not sure why it's so good , but it was amazing. I love how they grill the onions as it's cooking on top. The bun was super soft. I can't say enough about how yummy this burger was, and the Susie Q fries were cooked to perfection. I hope to return to this area just to have a burger at White Grill!

The menu is FABULOUS now. Our group of 14 very particular ladies raved about everything we ordered. The chicken is moist and flavorful, fried crispy. Far better than the area's other famed chicken restaurants that people drive to. The jumbo shrimp is delicious. French fries are coated to be extra special. The biscuits are substantial. Actual Real butter and Real honey are on the table! Macaroni and cheese is made with cavatappi spiral pasta with a white cheese sauce, perfectly done. I would like to see the iceberg lettuce in the side salad replaced with romaine and some spring mix for better nutritional value but appreciated the red cabbage and carrots. Perfect onion blossom petals and fried okra appetizers, which were a little more on the pricey side. Overall, the entree prices are in line with other restaurants in Fort Scott but considering the better quality of meal preparation, the offerings are grand. Our wait server was cheery and extremely bright. She was in fact delightful. As with many businesses in Fort Scott that are not on downtown Main Street, the ambience inside is surprising nice compared to the outer fascade. This historical building was once a livery stable. The support poles in the center of the dining room are wrapped in a purple skull design as a holdover from a past life and could stand to be redone in something more tasteful as they are an incongruous element in an otherwise very pleasant decor. I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent comfort food and great service.
