I have always ordered personalized birthday cakes here for my husband and my kids, and the owner has always been absolutely amazing. However, my experience today was very frustrating. When I arrived, I went back and forth with an associate who claimed he couldn't find my order--even though it was sitting right there in the freezer. When the owner finally stepped in and found it, the associate gave me a terrible attitude and rudely told me, 'You didn't give me the right name and you don't know the words.' But i did. I would have gladly given this place 5 stars, but that interaction made me incredibly uncomfortable, especially because of the employee's disrespectful tone and the way he spoke to me!

Carvel - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Hicksville, New York

This was one of the cleanest and well-stocked Carvel locations I've been to. I was in the area and needed an ice cream cake. They had a good selection of cakes of different sizes and designs. I ended up choosing the classic Fudgy the Whale. The person behind the counter was an older gentleman (not sure if it's the manager). He wrote the birthday message beautifully! He also gave me a free container of vanilla/chocolate ice cream for our party! So generous! I would drive the extra 10 minutes to come to this location rather than the Carvel in Syosset (seems so unclean with sticky floors, toppings and dried up ice cream on counters). read more

Carvel in this location implies a buy one get 50 % off. Seems the small rounds flying saucers are 18.95 each pack and are not included on the sale as the regular ones are. What's that? You ask if I bought them anyway? Nope ! read more

Carvel - a hand holding a cup of ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Hicksville, New York

The old guy was very rude and abrupt - my kids being kids and never having tried some flavors like rocky road wanted a sample and he was like "it's just chocolate with nuts". They have had only asked to try two other flavors before this one and I have 3 kids. He didn't even fill up the cups when I ordered the soft serves. And they don't take Amex - just an FYI. read more

After a whole day of celebrating the 4th of July (having a picnic in a state park/beach in Long Island) our group decided to stop by carvel and grab an ice cream cake to cool down body. I never been to any carvel before and I was surprised on the amount of treats they have to offer. I saw ice cream sandwiches in their freezer chest and was tempted to get some but successfully resisted myself. I am currently on a low sugar diet and I just don't wanna ruin my progress. So, me and my friends decided to grab a small cake and have the staffs write "Happy 4th" on it. I was impressed on how quickly the staff wrote down on the cake what we requested. The group went to our friend's house and we sliced the cake to 10 and to be shared. This is the part where I can't resist it anymore... forget the low sugar diet for now. So I had my slice of the cake and its been awhile since I had one... oh boy I really miss the taste of it! I would definitely drop by soon to another carvel branch and maybe the one near me. I will try their other treats next time and will post another review. read more

They barely gave me any hot fudge and then when I asked for more than one little squirt of whipped cream, he charged me an extra 80 cents for it. read more

Owner is a horrible business man. He changes prices, is rude, makes half fast occasion cakes that cost a fortune and thinks he is the only Carvel in town (well you are not. There is one up the road in Hicksville next to Holy Trinity and I will be going there from now on.) Also I got a vanilla cone and gave him my $5 gift card and do you know what this cheap owner said? "I don't accept $5 gift cards! Who does not accept carvel gift cards no matter what the price? You know who?? Cheap owner with no business ethics. But You know who did accept it??? The carvel in the village green!!!! read more

Carvel - So this is a large or did Uber rip me off? - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Hicksville, New York

Great service. Clean. One of the best carvels in Nassau. They do not up charge for credit card use, unlike syosset carvel.

The owners & staff are extremely friendly & the soft serve is always superb!! I get it fudge & black cherries on my vanilla & it's awesome!! My friend got caramel & Samoa pieces & it was great except the Samoas were stale & hard, but when it's Wednesday & it's buy one get one...we'll overlook it ;) read more

Have been going to this carvel for years, but recently stopped going due to this unfortunate situation. I came in and got a mint chocolate chip ice cream, only to come home and have it be completely sour and expired. I understand this can happen, but when I heard why this happened I was shocked. I called them to let them know, and the young man on the other end said that he knew the freezers turned off and that ice cream was probably not good, but his boss told him to serve it and that it would be fine. Thank god I noticed it wasn't good after a few tastes and threw it out. They offered me another ice cream, but not sure I'll go back due to the boss probably not looking out for what's best for the customers. read more

My favorite Carvel store. Owners and staff are very nice. My family buys all of our birthday cakes from this location. They will usually give a free pack of flying saucers with a cake purchase. We always get the fudge coated cakes with crunchies! read more

I visited with my family from Florida. We have heard about Carvel and how good it was so we decided to stop in and try. So many choices so we asked for the teeny teeny sample spoon size and after the 2nd one the owner told the worker we weren't allowed to try any more. With so many choices how could we know without trying. Owner was a pompous cheap skate like the little sample spoon was eating into overpriced pockets. Shame on him and Carvel. In sunny Florida the ice cream shops will let you sample at will. read more

Worst service and disorganized store. Serves soup-quality ice cream. Owner is horrible - yells at the workers, and has a terrible attitude toward all customers. Save your money and go to another carvel 2 min away. Worth the distance instead of getting crappy ice cream and service here. read more

It's ice cream and seating and toppings. What's not to like!! Friendly service, and very clean. I actually have been here twice. First time I bought a fudgey the whale but also wanted a banana split so they put the cake a side for me while I ate. Now here for buy one get one free sundae. I'm eating one and they put the other in the freezer for me until I finish the first. read more

Man the service is awful. There's an old woman working there and she just kept yelling that she can't hear, and the mic she was using amplified it. Only ordered half of what I needed because she messed up two of the items (and didn't even apologised, I just accepted it to be nice) and of her yelling, it was just so frustrating. Just save yourself the trouble and go to another carvel please read more

This is a nice clean Carvel w excellent customer service. I like their cherry bonnets than other Carvel I have been to

Carvel. All I know is this place has been here for as long as I can remember, and the same guy has owned it and is almost ALWAYS working. I usually get one of two things - either the soft serve chocolate with marshmallow topping (buy 1 get 1 free Wednesday's) or the chocolate shake. Carvel nostalgia. read more

My daughter is very happy about the custom photo cake. They can make anything and very reasonable . Great service.

Go on Wednesdays for the soft service sundae specials..buy 1 sundae get the other free. Soft serve ice cream only!

Honestly.. Getting ice cream is supposed to be kind of like a kid going into a toy store. But this place man I tell ya they really suck the fun out getting ice cream. The owner is such a jerkoff and so disgustingly rude and biased . I go here often as it's next to my work place and anytime I've been served by the owner is been nothing but a horrible experience. They're never constant with pricing , he over charges, just recently I ordered the same thing as the person before me and he gave me half of what he gave the other customer. I can care less about how much he gave me. What I care about is how much of an ass he is and he really needs to pick up his customer service! read more

Carvel is one of my favorite ice cream places to go to! I usually go to another Carvel but this Carvel is just as good as that one! The staff is friendly and the ice cream is really good to eat. What more can you ask for? read more

Not very customer friendly. Recently went in and ordered a specific cake. When i picked it up it was not what i wanted. Staff called owner and he was going to offer me $2 off. $2 for giving us a cake which was not the theme we asked for (from him a few days earlier). I said that was not acceptable that I wanted $10 off cake (original cake price $39.99). He said that it was too much and that he needed to make money on the cake and now he would loose too much. That's nice. Glad he is making money while he is giving out cakes with his own decoration. No apology. Said i wasn't forced to even take the cake...that's nice...daughters party was in 1 hour and these are my options. One would think you should try and keep a customer. Try to satisfy a customer...no...let's offer $2 off a $40 cake for messing it up. Will never go hear again!!!! read more
