AND...the best part...the outside of the sandwich, the chocolate chip cookie part, was SOFT. HALLELUJAH! The customer is unhappy because it's a really busy moment and a mistake gets made, or its busy and you haven't had a chance to clean up yet, or a delivery service makes an error, etc. Usually complaints get amplified but good things get overlooked or those customers don't have the time to write better reviews. After all the years coming here I can tell you this Carvel is well run, the owner takes pride and great care in being a great local business. As a business owner we are held hostage by the pool of potential employees out there and sometimes we get lucky and have a great crew, sometimes we have a bit of time with some not so great. Same with customers, most of them are great and supportive, some are just unhappy cranky people who are never satisfied and enjoy finding something to complain about. So coming from a fellow business owner, yes when it's busy it may look like there's a little cleaning to do (at the end of the day we all have that) sometimes an employee is not perfect (we're all not perfect) and sometimes an order gets screwed up (we all have had it happen) but overall I, and I eat a lot of ice cream) am always well taken care of here. Please don't judge a business by a moment in time, but rather by it's long term history. Shop here regularly and I'll bet you'll find it a great community resource with a really nice caring owner, mostly good kids making some extra money and super ice cream.
