The first cake I ever ordered from Pinho's was a beautiful double-stacked birthday cake. The craftsmanship was incredible. It was artistic, aesthetically beautiful, extremely high quality, and tasted just as good as it looked. Unfortunately, after picking it up, we made a mistake transporting it in the car and the cake completely fell apart on the way home. This was entirely OUR fault, not the bakery's. We brought it back about an hour later hoping there was anything they could possibly do to save it. What happened next is the reason I'm writing this review. The owner went completely above and beyond for us. She stayed HOURS later than she needed to, personally working to rebuild and restore our cake. She somehow managed to bring it back to life and make it beautiful again. She didn't charge us anything for all that extra time and work, and then, incredibly, even gave us another cake on the side. That kind of kindness and dedication to a customer is something I won't forget. I'm back at Pinho's again now for another birthday because after that experience, choosing where to get the cake wasn't even a question. Their cakes are beautiful, creative, high quality, and absolutely delicious, but it's the people behind them that made me a returning customer. 5/5 for the cake. 11/10 for the service. Thank you again for what you did for us. You turned what could have been a birthday disaster into a memory we'll always have.

It clearly wasn't properly set or supported. Yes, the vanilla cake with guava flavor was delicious, but that doesn't make up for how stressful and disappointing this was during such a special moment. What made it worse was the response from the bakery. No real apology, no effort to fix it just told we could buy another cake. Completely unacceptable. We should had been offer some sort of compensation or refund at least half for the poor job they did !

As a returning customer, I was disappointed by my recent experience…read more I placed an order for a themed birthday cake and put down an $87.50 ($175 total) deposit. After leaving, I realized the pricing felt very high for a simple 1-tier cake serving 8 people, so I contacted the bakery within less than an hour to cancel the order before any work had begun. Despite the immediate cancellation request, I was told the deposit was completely non-refundable and could only be applied toward a future purchase. I fully understand businesses having policies, but customer service and reasonable flexibility matter -- especially for repeat customers and cancellations made almost immediately after ordering. Instead of working toward a fair resolution, I was simply referred back to the policy. The cakes may be beautiful, but unfortunately this experience left a bad impression and made me feel more like a transaction than a valued customer.

There were so many treats to choose from, I had such a hard time deciding. There also weren't prices on the labels, so we had to ask the employee, who was nice enough, but if it was busy, I would find it a bit inconvenient. I ended up deciding on a red velvet cupcake and the cutest teddy bear spritz cookie. The red velvet cupcake was de-lish, I'd recommend this one! The teddy bear cookie was sooo cute but I didn't like it that much :( admittedly I mostly bought it because it was so darling, as I'm not a big fan of spritz cookies. I think the flavor of the vegan butter was overpowering, as I'm not used to that flavor. All of the other pastries looked wonderful though, so I'd definitely come back to try out some other ones!
