I've been to this place twice in 24 hours. That's gotta tell you something about how good their product tastes! Prior to coming here yesterday, I had never tried kulfi. I researched on the internet to learn that it's essentially ice cream that's eggless and un-whipped, which lends to its richness and dense consistency. It's not overly creamy as traditional western ice cream and tastes much better, in my humble opinion. Because the texture is smooth and not overworked, the flavors really come through. Today I tried one scoop of kesar pistas (which has pistachios, hairs of saffron and a little cardamom) and one scoop of guava. I liked them both separately, but together they were a perfect match because the kesar pistas is less sweet while guava was higher on the sweetness scale - not overly sweet, though. That made for a balanced and utterly delicious combo with the waffle cone. I usually get the feeling of thirst after eating ice cream, but that wasn't the case with this kulfi. It was refreshing... it hit the spot! I will be back again soon. read more

The ice cream here was delicious. Really creamy. They had a bunch of interesting flavors... guessing some of them were Indian, but they also had some "western" flavors like Ferroro Rocher. I tried both the Ferrero Rocher and also Fig & Walnut. Both were really good. Its a little on the pricey side at $4.5 for a small cup. I'll return occasionally though. Customer service was a bit weird. Was a little hard to flag someone down, even though it wasn't busy when we arrived. Note that the google maps was a little confusing... I ended up missing the entrance of the strip mall parking lot, and had to pull into the adjacent lot, which was extremely packed and chaotic. read more

I usually do not waste my calories on mundane ice cream flavors like chocolate or vanilla. Yes, some call them classic, I call them boring. Kwality Ice Cream offers great quality ice cream in very interesting flavors, which include guava, jamun (Java plum), lychee, and chikoo (sapodilla). I love that the ice cream has chunks of real fruit and nuts in it, and tastes like the actual fruit rather than chemical-laden artificial flavors and colors. I did not experience the service issues that others have mentioned in their reviews. This is not a sit-down ice cream parlor, and there are no restrooms for customers to use. This is a very well known brand in India available in probably every departmental(grocery) store. Finding this scoop shop almost brought us back to our childhood. Kwality is known for their super premium ethnic ice cream. They Specialize in Cassta, Kulfi, and Eggless Ice Cream Cakes and sugar free icecreams, in a variety of delicious flavors and packaged in convenient sizes of cups, pints, half gallon and 2.5 gallon tubs. But we were here for one and only one thing "The Cassata". My husband was jumping with excitement. It was so funny to see him react to Casssattta..... he turned into Scrat from Ice Age when he sees an acorn. This was my first tasting of a Cassata although it was the most common choice for every child I had never had one. A cassata is a layered icecream cake, 3 flavors (pista, tutifruiti, vanilla) served as slices. My Honest opinion... it wasn't the greatest, tasted alright the bottom layer was a yummy pound cake, the icecream was rich and creamy..but I think people love the memory of it more than what it is. All I know is it's loved by billions...and if you want to ever try an ethnic Indian icecream, stop by for sure! read more

I just saw kwality ice cream and had to go check it out. As soon as I waked in....I saw cassata and there was no changing my mind as to what I was going to get. Cassata the Three-Layered Ice-Cream with Nuts (pistachio), Tutti Frutti topped with a vanilla ice cream and a pound cake base with Lots of Memories from my childhood. Cassata brings back memory of a less complicated time in my youth where ice-cream was one of the great forbidden joys and was more a luxury. In this luxury comes casatta, one of the most expensive items on the menu. In the 80s and 90s this could be considered the king of all desserts ruled in the absence of the glamour of multi-national ice-cream parlours and fast food chains. With the entry of multi-national brands saw the decline in popularity of this great dessert. With my my migration to USA, me eating this again became a distant memory till I saw this on the menu when I least expected. Apart from this the flavors at kwality have evolved to satisfy the American or Indo American palettes. The one that caught my eye was Ferrero Rocher. I would definitely make this my stop for ice cream if I'm in the area just to rejoice a cold blast from the past. Kwality as the brand name is known since my birth I guess . It just awesome in taste . Have been quite a frequent visitor here . As my husband loves their falooda and my fav buttersotch ice cream is here. They have our Indian flours of kulfis too. Customer service at this location sucks .. 1. The lady ( not the young one) at the counter is always frowning . She never smiles or greets. That is also digestible 2. That day my toddler was eating ice cream in a cone and it started dripping . As we had to travel back in the car, I asked an old man at the counter to give me a cup. He denied it .. I was like can't u see ur own customer needs it . Then he told me I have to pay. Come on he cannot give me a thermocol Cup .. are u serious ?? I have to pay like how much ? Had to try an Indian-themed ice creamery. Something so unique! (And kinda named after my college girlfriend's AIM name. I told her about it, she laughed.) I read the reviews that suggested a couple of Indian flavors. Well, let me tell you, there are a solid 10 Indian flavors! Far too much for me to test out in one sitting. I decided on the saffron and chickoo (an Indian fruit also known as sapote/a). The saffron was obviously lightly done but had an unmistakable yellow color and the faintest hint of saffron. In my book I'd say skip it and go for something a bit more impactful; saffron is best in curry dishes and sauces, not ice cream where the dairy masks it. The chickoo was out of the park delicious. It's so unique, almost like fig ice cream - you have the graininess of the fruit (and its skin? I think not but it could have been finely ground) and so the whole thing takes on a uniquely unusual texture and thus a fantastic difference from normal flavors. Two downsides: you can only get two flavors at a time, and prices are a little high. So when I come back I'll try two more flavors and see if they both stick with me the way chickoo did. Could possibly edge the rating to a 5, but would be better if you had more options on hand! read more

While the ice cream is good, the lady working there today was really mean and rude - maybe try not to be a jerk to paying customers.

If there were an option, I would give them a minus 1,000 rating. I can't stress enough how much me and my family are upset and annoyed about our experience. As soon as I walked into the store and saw the face of the lady I knew that this experience was not going to go well. I wanted to try a flavor and she gave me it, in a mean way. Then my mother wanted to try something. And in the meanest way possible she said no and only one testing was allowed. That's is just so STUPID! I would not suggest going here!! Be prepared for bad and disrespectful behavior. Owner is very touchy about the walls of his shop. He has a few chairs lined up against one of the walls to let people enjoy the ice creams inside. My son was having his ice cream very slowly and I was tired and rested my head against the wall. It was very hot outside and we had had a long day. The guy at the shop called me out and asked, "do you have oil in your hair?" All heads in the shop turned towards me. I realized that he was concerned because my head rested against the wall.... I mean really! No I did not have oil in my hair... but even if I did why would someone put chairs against the walls and take offense if customers heads touched the walls. I've cream was JUST OK. CUSTOMER SERVICE NON EXISTENT. No welcome, no thank you. No explanation of what flavors were. When I went there was a man, maybe the owner on his cell phone, with his back to the customers. A lady of the same age was on her phone watching soap operas. Young kid helped us didn't say a word so we just ordered. My son ordered a shake, it was the consistency of milk. It was 926pm today and our family came to celebrate an occasion. We verified on multiple places that Kwality is open until 10pm. We were inside the place and came in before another party. The woman gave us attitude about serving us ice cream and claimed the open light was turned off (it was not) What kind of business does that? There were 5 of us us ready with our order and she was just too lazy to do her job. We visit this place many times and now we refuse to give them business. We've catered from them on multiple occasions. I hope she's not the owner because that was absolute terrible customer service. read more

Don't be shy to ask about the unfamiliar flavors--the guy scooping ice cream is happy to let you sample the different kinds of ice cream they offer. You could get a scoop in a cup or on one of the types of cones they have. Kulfi Falooda: Very cool ice cream flavor. I think the addition of actual falooda seeds made this pretty unique in taste and texture. The seeds add a fun "crunch factor" to each spoonful of the rose petal ice cream. It's aromatic, sweet, and flavorful; it is a well balanced flavor. What I like about the ice cream here is that they don't melt immediately. I drove home all the way from Edison and the ice cream still had some shape to it. Sitafal: Custard apple seems to be one of the more popular Indian-inspired flavors here. I know why. It smells great--very fruity and aromatic--and really does have a custard apple taste to it. Like the kulfi falooda, it is sweet, flavorful, and does not melt quickly! Badshahi Falooda drink: I'm sure some will find this drink odd or weird, but I thought it was off-the-chain delicious! It's unique, so I do recommend this to anyone wanting to try something different. This drink has falooda noodles, a rose petal ice cream shake, malai kulfi ice cream, watercress/Takmaria seeds, and rose syrup all mixed together. It is sweet, but not overly sugary at all. The noodles were soft and easy to eat. The only thing about this drink is that the ice cream doesn't melt fast so it may be difficult to drink this at first. Still, I love this drink and would order it again for sure! Is it a bit on the pricey side? For the amount of ice cream you get, sure. Even though it says it closes at 10 you should get there an hour before they close because the owner of the store will shut the door on your face at around 9:30 claiming that that's it for the night. They should update their hours in anything. The first time we came here the woman who served us clearly made it known that she did not want to serve us in any way with an attitude. Which we found out is actually the store owner. So rude for the owner to not care about customers and kick them out of the store. What made the experience even better was how the store owners proceeded to leave 10 minutes before 10. Last time we will be returning. I'll sacrifice rose ice cream for better customer service elsewhere. read more

The best Kulfi (Indian ice cream) spots to go is Kwality! I love their Kulfi Falooda concoction. It's a meal in itself. So good!! Other flavors that are worth trying are Rose, mango, pista, tutti fruity and lychee. The fruit flavors taste like the actual fruit. They are creamy and yummy! read more

This is a gem of an ice cream place on Oak tree. They have a great collection of Indian flavors plus special ones like chickoo and sitaphal as well. We tried Pan ice cream, Falooda, malai kulfi ice cream, cassata and kesar kulfi Pan flavor is amazing. Highly recommended. Kesar kulfi is great. Reminds of India. We got another one after eating the first. Cassata was as good as India. Falooda was average and so is malai kulfi flavored ice cream. If in the area, a must try. read more

This ice cream is SO GOOD! I had the Kesar Pista, which is a yellow-cream colored saffron and pistachio ice cream (around $4 for small in a cup). The smooth base of the ice cream paired well with the small pieces of pistachio mixed in. You could also pick out the small pieces of saffron. The mango also tasted delicious- the best I've had next to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. Usually you would think fruity flavors would fall along the lines of a sorbet, but boy, was this decadent! I tried my friend's Rose flavored ice cream, which her and her family always get, and it was also subtle and delicious. There are around 4 seats near the wall opposite of the freezers, and they sell the ice cream in different sized pints. It also looked like they sold ice cream cakes. They take card, but there was a limit (perhaps $10?). Love this place, and would definitely come back to try more of their other flavors. read more

Kwality Ice Cream is a very unique sort of ice cream place. You would never know that Indian ice cream could be so funky and delicious in its own way. They have both American standard flavors, such as chocolate and vanilla, and Indian flavors. I have been there a few times, and each one is good. Feel free to be a little adventurous in your selection there. The strip mall itself is a little run down, and it's hard to find the entrance. You either end up entering the neighboring strip mall, which is congested with lots of cars, or you have to enter through the bank in order to get there. read more

Everything is eggless!! It matters to me and many Indians that I know. I've ordered 5 ice cream cakes so far in the past two years. Never had any issues. I usually place the order a week before. And it's promptly ready for pickup on the day and time I ask. The staff is professional. They'll let you sample any flavor that you want before buying. Quite a few Desi flavors such as chickoo, kesar pista, kaju anjeer, etc are available. It is pricy compared to other options (vadilal, etc), but the freshness and Quality (pun intended) is worth it. read more

Lots of different flavors most of them are standard with a decent amount that are unique. Good quality at a moderate price point.

The sitafal icecream tastes a tiny bit like custard apple but it's very faint. It tastes more like a sweet cream. I liked it. However, the kesar pista had a very weird and slightly bitter taste to it which made me think the pistachios might have been expired. Don't get the rose petal icecream, it's too artificial tasting and it felt like I was eating perfume. read more

If you're looking for added sugar.. yes this is the place.. but for the attitude of the old lady and the old man (in their 50's ..I think they would be the owners) they were serving us... we purchased nearly 3 Half gallons of ice cream and got the cone for our group (nearly 8 people).
