I have used Mike's Carstar, dating back 30 years. These guys take there work serious and they do the best auto body in the Valley. They will handle the adjuster, so you don't have to negotiate what gets fixed. Don't let the insurer tell you what damage it will and will not pay for, Mike will tell them what you need to restore your car, he knows their game. The paint shop is top notch. They use the best automotive paint products on the market and match your finish perfectly, the first time. They wont let your car sit in the lot and decay like many other shops do once you sign there contract. The shop is very modern and is well connected to parts sources, tow companies, and outside vendors for work that is outside the scope of repairs they handle. Custom work is always welcomed here, I know this first hand. Over the years they have worked on 2 of my Jeeps, My Eclipse, and my SL500. I would not trust any other. If I could give 10 stars I would! This family owned business is ran by the most amazing and kind people. They genuinely care about their customers and help you out in any way they can. They did an amazing job fixing the spoiler on my car after I shut the garage door on it. In the same week we got re-ended in our other car, which ended up being a total loss (so no repairs on that one). My key rubber was not damage at all you guys damage it. I would like my key replaced good not looking like is an old key. Adding a rubber cover to what was damaged at your shop is not fixing or "replacing" my original key. I was compelled to write this review even though we ultimately did not have work done to our vehicle after it was towed here. We thought our catalytic converter had been stolen over the weekend of 6/07/24. We contacted our insurance company who referred us to this business to have ourvehicle fixed. I initially had spoke with Tyra and she immediately took care to have our vehicle towed that same day which was Monday 6/10/24. On weds 6/12/24, I received a call from Jamie (another wonderful woman who works the front office) informing me that our catalytic converter was not stolen, still present and in fact, a welding issue from the exhaust pipe to the muffler. She informed us this is covered under the manufacturer warranty (we have a 2021 Hyundai Tucson with under 12,000 miles), it's safe to drive, cancel our insurance claim and there is no charge. I literally cried tears of joy! It is so few and far between that a business such as this let alone ANY business is so honest and upfront! If I EVER need any work done to our vehicle outside of the manufacture warranty, you better believe I will be bringing my vehicle to this place! Asked for an estimate. It came quickly, which was great. What followed was disturbing. When I called to ask few questions about the estimate, including when can they start this repair, I was told that because of the supply chain issues, they don't know when the parts will be available. But if I provide a $500 deposit, then they can actually order the parts and that is the only way to know when they'll be available. Have not seen anything like this: Give us the money before we can tell you when we can start working on your car. Steer clear! RESPONSE TO THE BUSINESS: Thank you for clarifying. If you haven't found parts suppliers that can give you parts availability information without you charging your customers $500, you need to look for new suppliers. You're alone in this problem. All other body shops were able to provide dates when parts are available and when they can start and fishing the repairs. read more

I got in an accident and so glad my family mechanic recommended this place. I got my car back and it's like nothing ever happened. My car looks great, and the customer service was incredible. I worked with Jamie and she was the greatest. They kept me well informed the whole time. They worked quick on finding the parts that were needed. My car was part of a collision right before a holiday. Michael's helped me get a quick estimate and rental care, but even more they took care to ask about me personally. They were concerned I was physically and emotionally safe. Throughout a terribly detailed and complicated repair process they kept me updated and responded compassionately to my increasing alarm over delays (caused by COVID supply chain drama).The car looks incredible! Being in the auto industry, I've dealt with a LOT of body shops. Everything from your cheapie Maaco paint job to custom repaints ranging in the 5 figure range. A few things I've grown to expect are missed deadlines, sub par work and poor communication. Michael's shop however is an exception. From text updates on my car's progress to super friendly staff (and I spoke with multiple people, all of whom were friendly) to my car being done when they said it would be...it was about as enjoyable of an experience as one can hope for. I was unfortunately involved in an auto accident leaving my GMC Yukon with extensive damage. I was rearended so hard on the freeway that in addition to the damage to the rearend, even my dashboard cracked. I've had this car for a period of time and I could have easily just purchased a new one however this car is special to our family as it's the car we brought our kids home from the hospital in when they were born. I was referred to Michael's collision by my in-laws who had a positive experience with them in the past. Both owners (Michael and and his wife Melissa) greeted me in the lobby and after assuring I was not injured from the accident they educated me on the process of getting my vehicle repaired. They also helped arrange and coordinate a rental vehicle. Considering the damage to the car I had a laundry list of concerns and Michael reassured me that my car was repairable and that each of my concerns would be addressed. He then explained that each part would have to be ordered and required individual approval by the insurance and that the process is the most time consuming. Michael's advocates for their customers to get new OEM parts whenever possible, rather than the used parts suggested by the insurance company. They even replaced my battery which began to lose its charge during the repair process. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and both Jamie and Tyra were always helpful and friends on the phone. When my Yukon was completed I couldn't tell it had been in an accident. All the seems lined up, the paint was perfect and they even replaced the dash board. I also learned that during the repair process Michaels replaced the battery on the car. Jamie, the office manager, went over everything with me and even ran an engine diagnostic to ensure no error codes as the vehicle hadn't been driven in 2 months. My Yukon was rearended (from a stop) by a full-size pickup whose estimated speed was 40-50mph and today the vehicle looks new. Thank you to Michael's Collision. read more

A mechanic friend of mine referred me over to Michael's Carstar. He spoke very highly of the owner- Michael, the staff, and the work they do. I spoke with Michael the day I dropped my car off and I knew my vehicle was in good hands. I had many questions and concerns and they were all addressed promptly and put me right at ease. Their Carstar Vision site sends you daily photo updates! I absolutely loved that! On that site, it also shows you what stage your repair is in, and an estimated finish date. I liked being able to keep track of what was going on without constantly calling and bugging the staff. Even when I did, they were patient and understanding. I know there are several collision centers on Cave Creek, but I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Michael's Carstar. They go above and beyond and truly have your best interest in mind. I hope they know how incredibly grateful, and completely blown away I am with the whole experience. When the right rear section of the bumper on my 2010 Ford Focus popped from its retainer, I looked to Yelp for the right place go for repair. I found the previous reviews of Michael's Collision so that's where I went. As previously reported, Michael and his staff are, indeed, friendly, courteous, and above all, honest. Michael explained to me that what I thought was a separate panel was an integral part of the bumper. He said that the guaranteed permanent fix would be to replace the bumper and offered me an option. The bumper replacement would have cost at least $1,000 whereas the optional fix would be less than $100. The option required that the plastic piece behind the bumper section could be replaced and might do the trick. He said that if it didn't, he would put the car back the way it was and charge only for the labor involved. I opted for the more inexpensive repair and it worked. I can only affirm all the good things previously reported about Michael's Collision and am sure that if I should ever need body work again it will be done there. read more

Had the lower bumper replaced and They did a fantastic job! The paint job on the bumper itself was excellent except... The overspray of paint is felt every time I wipe my car down after a car wash on the hood of my trunk, the sides of my car, and the back window! I guess they did not cover my car or tape off before they spray-painted the brand new bumper! I'm extremely disappointed to say the least! And I purposely picked this collision company over another one down the road. And like another reviewer, they had my car practically an entire month trying to work things out with the insurance company. read more

Best car shop ever. Fair, honest, great service. Great attention to detail. They will save you money if they find ways to. I live in Chandler and drive over 45 min to Michael's Collision because of their high quality service. Work done: They cut the 1/4 back part of my car and replaced it with a new one, including new bumper. Replaced trunk struts. I was rear-ended on the high-way and one of my friends referred me to Michael's Collision. Michael and his team were very courteous and did their best to help me. They even referred me to a great lawyer and wrote me a check for over $100 because the muffler they ended up replacing was cheaper than what the insurance company quoted (they could've kept that money!). The work they did was impeccable, my car looked better than when I first bought it. To save me more money, they gave me one of their own cars as rental. I went back to them after a second, milder rear-ending accident a few months later, and they did the same amazing job. Almost two years later, I contacted them because I had trouble opening my trunk and since they had cut the quarter back part of my car and put a new piece in after the accidents, I thought it was related to that work. Michael remembered me and asked me to bring my car over, where they would look at it and perform any work at no cost. And sure enough, they did! The problem was the weakening of the trunk struts, which they replaced, but I don't think it was even their fault from prior work. All I had to pay was $35 for the new parts, which was way cheaper than any auto parts store would have charged. They even fixed my trunk handle and saved me $170. This is a great car shop and I recommend it to anyone. They offer excellent warranty for their work! read more

Great shop. Walked in and met with Michael. True professional, very knowledgeable. He actually talked me out of correcting a minor cosmetic issue, and pointed out the issues with the lousy touch up job on the vehicle I purchased two weeks ago at a dealership. Michael's Carstar stays busy (there's a reason - honest people that do great work are rare). 1. My car looks great. You can't tell any damage happened to the car, or that any work was done on it. 2. It was hard to get my car in on short notice before a trip, but Michael found a way to make it work - and only agreed to do so after making sure he wouldn't let down his other customers! That's real customer service. 3. I was annoyed about a small issue, and was discussing it with them. In the process, accidentally, it came to light the shop had done work I hadn't asked for - and hadn't been asked to pay for. They did extra work to make my car RIGHT, and were trying to return my car to me without telling me. It's one thing to go out of your way to help a customer and tell them (with the shop owner getting to enjoy a "thanks" and looking forward to referrals and repeat business as a result of "going the extra mile" and telling you about it). It's quite another to do a good thing and to make a point of NOT trying to tell the customer about it - just doing it because it's what it takes to do the job right, and because they care about their work and the people they work for. That's a very rare level of goodness and integrity. That doesn't mean you should expect the shop to do extra work for free (their prices are already VERY reasonable - I know, I price compared). Don't look for or expect freebies; their quotes are competitive and honest, and this was an unusual situation. But do expect good, honest people that take real pride in their work. I recently was rear ended and had damage to my rear bumper and surrounding area. Mike and his staff were friendly and professional and helped me navigate through each step of the process including insurance estimates, time frames, etc. They were accommodating to my schedule for dropping off and picking up my car and were flexible when I asked to switch the drop off and pick up times. They even finished my car a day earlier than anticipated. My car was with them for less than 3 days and came back looking brand new and as a bonus it was given a car wash inside and out! They sent text messages every step of the way to keep me informed including a message when they passed the half way point and were going to finish early. They followed up with phone calls to ensure I had no questions. This process could not have been any smoother.
