Rogers needed a site visit to complete and outside connection and took 5 days to respond to the Carry request to service the Roger's distribution request. Yes, our Internet price has gone up since we signed up but that's with any ISP. I don't really notice that the speed is bad but sometimes when I do a speed test, we are getting less than we are paying for. Recently, we noticed an increase of our monthly bill of $2.50. After looking closely at it, there was some regulatory fee tacked on. My husband researched online and read that it is voluntary. He decided to call to ask for it to be removed. He got through to customer service right away (this would take hours with Rogers!) and they were very helpful & removed the charge and advised that we would be credited back the $2.50 paid on the next invoice. I do have problems with the service and the quality of Internet reception. I'm finding out after they set up that there's problem with the television and I have a lot of blips outages. I moved into a new place and requested the basic wifi plan for 40$ a month. After we received the device we called for activation. A month went by with people transferring over to different departments and promises of calling us back and the issue was never resolved. Customer service is unprofessional and contradict each other. I had someone laughing when I was explaining what had happened and this person got nervous and denied it which was just another disappointment. it takes forever for you to get a technician and then you get a call first which does not help at all before they visit your place. If you don't need your internet to be reliable, then go ahead and use these folks. You will save money, but it comes at a price. Carrytel's customer agreement specifies they do not guarantee service, nor bandwidth. So if it goes down "so sorry, please be patient". As a reseller, they are at the mercy of Rogers. Pray you dont have an issue on a Friday, because you'll be without service for the weekend, as Rogers doesn't provide service to Carrytel on the weekend. Not only that, but if you do encounter an issue, unfortunately their people cannot provide you with any information at all. ZERO STARS!!!! This company has been a nightmare to deal with. After moving we decided to use them for internet, which we never recieved!!! It was canceled on the 14th of January yet I was still charged my monthly fee on the 17th.. I have spent $133.34 on internet ehich was never connected. Sent to modem back, thei recieved it on the 20th....it is now Feb 11th and I have still not received reimbursement. Every time I call support I get a different answer/scenario of what is happening with my account. Upon calling today, they informed me that I would only be reimbursed $66.00 out of the total amount and there was nothing they could do about it. They also would not give me their legal team information which screams SCAM to me. I will continue to try and be patient and look for reimbursement from this company but I am less than hopeful. So after 2.5 years, I'm cancelling the line and moving to a different company. They not only raised the price 3 times, but also the past 2 weeks, the internet has been extremely slow. See the speed test results I got. It was just getting impossible to have Zoom calls, work, or stream. I switch my internet service from 150mb to1000mb the 150mb was 67.00 dollars a month and they had a new plan for 1000mb 49.00 dollars a month so I switched to the new plan. They sent me a new modem to connect up to my cable line. I did a speed test and my speed was between 100mb up to 120mb, phoned them to let them know, all of a sudden I had to be a technician and send them reports, months go bye and my speed never got better. Finally they sent me a new modem and my speeds improved but they bounce around from 750mb to 1000mb. They asked me to send the old modem back to them which i did. Then they sent me a email telling me that the cat 5 ethernet cable was not in the box and wanted to charge me $10.00 for it, a meter long cat 5 cable only costs $1.00 they use cheap cable not gold plated cables. long story short sent cable back and phoned them for a credit on my internet because they were petty about the cable and i was paying for speeds i was not getting it was like paying for a full tank of gas and only getting a 1/4 tank of gas. It took them 6months to correct my speed but wouldn't give me a single penny in credit for the speeds i was paying for but did not receive. Also took them 2 months to credit back the modem i sent back. All they care about is money not customer service. In the end they told me I could keep the cable for my trouble. What a joke. I live up in Stouffville and I dont have many plans to choose from especially something like fibre. The only fibre option would be rogers but you would be overpaying for internet. I used carrytel for a year and i purchased 150 Mbit download but for throughout the whole year I would get at most 50 down and on average 35 down. The network stability leaves much to be desire. I'm constantly disconnect or getting very high ping delay during games especially if another family member is on a video call. Given the COVID situation that is very common. I would reset the modem more times in a month than I would have to during the 2 years I was with bell before. For some reason the modem they sent me didn't support 5Ghz even though the model is supposed to. I suppose they sent me a defective one but I didn't want to deal with the hassle of replacing the modem and not having internet for a few days so I had to purchase my own router. I've definitely contacted customer support about the internet service problems and they would run through a basic troubleshooting that you would have done already before calling them. In the end, the problem would still persist and the issues above would remain. This is my own personal experience, maybe I was unlucky but I won't be coming back. I'm not sure why everyone is rating them so low, I pay $69.99 a month for a 1 gbps connection and always get about 70-100 megs a second when downloading most things. Yes they've had a couple of longer interruptions over the years that I've been with them, however they have always been very easy to get a hold of and I don't usually wait long for a technician to come if it's needed. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd much rather pay a smaller ISP then Rogers or Bell. The same plan I have now would cost me almost double with Rogers. read more

We have had nothing but terrible service from the start. Our setup date for the internet was 3 days ago and we're still waiting for it to kick in. We've called them several times and were told a manager or supervisor would get back to us but no one's reached out to us. This is a discount service that's just not worth it. I do not recommend. Carrytel is a smaller provider that I believe uses the Rogers infrastructure and provides it for a fraction of the price. While I'm no expert on all the technical aspects of their service I did test speeds pretty extensively and found their services to live up to expectations. Speeds were great and after having had the service for a year, my complaints are minimal. When it came time to cancel due to moving, it was relatively hassle-free. There was a "service failure", however, that occurred about 10 days before the scheduled cancellation and while that was unfortunate and perhaps wouldn't happen with the owner of the infrastructure, it was only a small blip for me. Furthermore, customer service provided a refund for the days of lost service. While a full month's refund may have been better, honestly, the lack of hassle and time wasted in actually communicating with a human and getting issues resolved in minutes as opposed to spending untold hours in phone hell with Rogers or Bell more than makes up for this. Do your research online before deciding for yourself, but this is definitely a company I would be willing to go back to in the future. read more

They increased the price 2 times within a short period unless they guaranteed the price for a year to be constant. The internet service is not bad. The main issue is the customer service which is not responsive at all, you feel that they are the only internet service provider in the world and they dont mind if you stay with them or not (they are not supportive at all). They offer a 50mb service but the max output of the modem is 15-20mb and they ask you to buy another modem if you want to max out the speed or you should connect with cable like 20 years ago! Update: Another surprise from the company, they don't make the refund for the returned modem (when I started this terrible service they told me that I would receive the refund once I return but now they have changed their words). I have dropped off the modem and they are asking me to come back and get it. Such a shame ! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service and horrible technical support. I signed up with Carry Telecom in March of 2023 because or their attractive pricing for 250Mbps speed. Almost immediately I experienced poor internet speed far below what was advertised. These low speed periods always occurred between 6:30 PM and 11:30 PM. The speed I was receiving between these times was usually in the single digits ( 2 Mbps to 9Mbps) rendering all my equipment useless in the evening. I assumed that I was being throttled between these peak hours. I contacted Carry Telecom and was advised to submit a Slow Speed Data Collection report. When contacting Carry Telecom I always experiences customer service reps. that could barely speak English. You would think that English speaking customer service reps. would be an important part of the hiring process for a Canadian company , but not for Carry Telecom. After submitting the report I was advised to return my modem for a new modem. I received the new modem, but this did not resolve the problem of poor internet speed. I was once again advised to submit another Slow Speed Report. Carry Telecom then dispatched a technician ( from Shaw) to try resolve the problem. The technician added a COAX filter to the modem , which again did nothing. I was asked one again to submit another Slow Speed Report. After the 3rd report was submitted I never heard back from Carry Telecom. After 8 months of this nonsense I contacted them and cancelled the service. It took nearly 2 months of calling and emailing to get my equipment deposit back. I called Shaw and setup a new account. Their technician setup all the equipment and I finally had working internet . The lesson I learned was that you get what you pay for. read more
