DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BEANFIELD! Beanfiels did a promo in my condo and I fell for it. The deal was 2k bps for $55/mo, BUT when they came to do the install, I was only getting less than 1k bps because they said the building didn't have the infrastructure to provide what they were selling. That was the first lie. I recently called them to complain and they gave me a bit of a break in the price for a while. Part of that deal is no charge for the month of December, but what they didn't mention is that they would throttle the service down to THAN 50 bps. Rob L. is right. I use the data on my phone instead and looking for an alternative. I fell for the same 2G promo at $55. It turns out it's only 1G. The service feels on throttle, speed almost like dial-up. Go with TekSavvy. Ditto Alp C. They have this attitude that is unpleasant. Amy S., your review reads like an employee review. Beanfield being an internet provider also offers tv through this connection...it goes down regularly requiring rebooting...however, their main feed to my unit is in a ceilong in a closet and requires a technician service call.. is itcworth their cheaper prices ? No! read more

Decent internet speeds, but awful installation and customer service. Watch the installers all the time, or they will cut corners and enable the very minimum for a single access point to work and leave, ignoring the rest of prewired network. Customer service claims they are booked for weeks in advance and cannot send anyone to rectify the unfinished install. read more

We love Beanfield! For what Beanfield offered in terms of packages and pricing, we were the first ones to sign on (seriously, we got our service before the management office). The installation guys were amazing. Very efficient and professional. My husband is an IT consultant, and he was complimenting these guys! After our building was wired with fibre, the internet speed and reliability has been quite consistent. Even customer service is friendly and productive. Can't wait for them to get into the cable tv side of things. Rogers, you suck! Bell, you suck too! read more

Today I got my internet installed by Beanfield. Later I saw this yelp review, it shows 3 stars only. This clearly doesn't reflect my experience, so I'm going to share my little story here. I placed my order December 30th, 11 pm. I immediately got an auto reply, and next morning before 10 am I received a personal confirmation for Jan. 2, 11:15 am. Sure enough, at 11:16 am they knocked on my door (yes, I did check the time :) ) The confirmation email stated that the installation can take up to two hours. They were done after 1.5 hours, although they ran into some minor technical issues. Somebody wrote that "you need a router for the installation to complete". In my case, this was not the case. When placing the order, there's the option to either rent ($8/ month) or buy ($100) the router (which has WiFi inbuilt, and it can be configured via their app "AirTies"). (I don't recall an option to "bring your own device".) At the end of the installation, they made sure my laptop connects properly, and I ran a speed test, which resulted significantly higher than the 250/250 mbit I signed up for. They told me that it might go "down" to that speed though once my account is fully set up on their end., which of course is totally fine. One of the installation guys called their support to confirm my account. (The way the phone was answered, I believe this was the regular customer support, but I don't know that for a fact.) The phone was answered within seconds, and the tone between the guys was friendly and professional. So, it's just my day 1 with Beanfield, but so far, they seem very professional to me, I'm convinced I made the right choice. read more

You're supposed to just leave your equipment in an unmarked box for them to pick up? And then if they don't 'recieve it' they charges you hundreds and hundreds of dolalrs to replace? Quite frankly I would have preferred to drop things off or mail them myself....and when complaining to customer service about this, the only thing I am told is 'we are sorry to hear that.' Subpar business practices, terrible customer service. They don't value you as a customer. I have reached out to them for internet services for the new unit I am moving into. It took them 1 business day to get back to me and we've agreed on the installation date. The 1 business day will be important later on. The earliest date they could give me was 2 weeks. It definitely isn't an ideal situation given the WFH; however, I agreed because it wasn't too late all things considered. They have sent me a service agreement in the evening. I haven't had time to open the agreement on Friday and sent a reply back on Monday morning at 8 AM saying that I couldn't sign the agreement when I tried that morning and asked them to send a new one. Only 1 business day passed and there are 10 days (8 business days) until the installation. They have told me that they canceled the booking and I had to wait another week for the installation. No communication or warning prior to the cancellation. No mention of a service agreement being required for finalizing the booking. None of this is mentioned in the prior communications. To me, it looks like someone decided to cancel the booking arbitrarily to accommodate someone else to have an earlier date, and now they had to find an excuse for me. The only thing the customer service (the supervisor) was able to do was to say that they are sorry and that they will work on the wording of their communications in the future. What a waste of time. I found a better offer elsewhere and will not be bothered with this company again. read more

Became a voip customer because our service provider was bought out but customer service and service slumped immediately and randomly the service was shut off. Any calls to technical support are just given a 'ticket' and call-back days later with no assistance. read more

I live in Cityplace and was with Telus before they transferred their contracts to Beanfield. The transfer was handled very poorly on Beanfield's side of things. They sent us a letter stating that everything would be the same as our experience with Telus (price, internet speed, billing, etc.), the only difference was that they billed for a month in advance, whereas Telus billed for a month previous. When we got our first bill from Beanfield, it was more than double what our Telus bill was. When we talked to Beanfield's customer service, they were unaware of what internet package we had, what internet packages Telus had offered or how much Telus was charging for their internet packages. I had to send them a copy of the brochure that Telus gave us so that Beanfield knew what services THEY WERE PROVIDING! After we got that sorted out, they did credit us what we were owed. We gave them about 6 months to see if things would improve and unfortunately they did not. Our internet speed dropped dramatically and we were experiencing outages on a regular basis, sometimes as many as 2-3 times per day. Eventually we had enough, and called to cancel our service. They cancelled the service and we thought we were done with them because we were paying a month in advance for their services. About 3 weeks after cancelling their service, we received an invoice for services that we had already paid for (remember they bill one month in advance). I called them once again and asked if this invoice was in error and got two different answers depending on who I talked to. The amount wasn't exorbitant so I paid it but I believe that this is double dipping and wanted to warn others. read more

I live in Liberty Village and was really pumped to dump bell and just go steady at $45/month for unlimited internet. The service is great in terms of speeds, up times (haven't gone down yet) and when I call customer service, they pick up and I can imagine them sitting in their office in Liberty Village talking to a local customer (Which it is). Anyway... I highly recommend the service even at $50. Really glad my condo board made this happen. read more

Fantastic cutting-edge connection. Finally our company has ditched the old DSL (and hassle dealing with you know who) and are enjoying some seriously fast, reliable internet. So far I'm highly impressed. How often can you say a business lived up to its (good) reputation? Beanfield has delivered on every point: A. Ordering was easy and the customer service agent was always accessible for further questions. B. Gave me a time for installation, not a 3-hour window like the legacy ISPs, and they were 30 minutes early! They just waited for me to get home. Installation took 45 minutes and they made sure to test all network ports so I could place my router wherever it was my wish. The techs were friendly. C. The speed! I'm getting 95 Mbps up and down, which is fantastic for $45 a month. I wouldn't be surprised if it's my router getting in the way of hitting a full 100 Mbps :p D. I have yet to get Beanfield into my home but the installation process/dealing with customer services reps have been a nightmare to say the least! Beanfield which originally will quote you as being able to come in by 3-5 business days actually ended up being 10 plus business days! If your not in a hurry, this shouldn't be a problem, but it was a big problem for us as we needed someone in there for the time they quoted us. They also do not tell you that you need a wireless router for the installation process to be complete, so now I am running around before they arrive trying to purchase one! Not sure about the service yet, have only heard good things, but I would not rely on what the customer service representatives tell you on the phone, as in my case, it is often turned out untrue or they do not know which information to give customers! Bigger hassle than the bigger phone companies for sure...If you are not tech-savvy like me, this is not the company for you-they are not the type of company to take care of it all and you just pay the bill! You have to stay on top of them to ensure you have everything in place for the installation! read more
