I have been a customer of Acanac for over 10 years, but these last few years have not been among the best... far from it. Don't expect to get 50 Mb/s if you've paid for it... I have never even reached 30 Mb/s with my latest contract. So, I upgraded to a 500 Mb/s fiber optic speed, with new equipment and everything necessary for good service. However, even this time, Acanac still cannot deliver what they promised in their contract... even if they really want to provide good service, they simply cannot. After a month of wasting a lot of time on phone calls with support, I still don't consistently get 150 Mb/s today... and yet, I continue to pay for the 500 Mb/s in this contract. Acanac is a terrible company to deal with. I was with them for several years and every single time there was a problem with my internet it took multiple days for it to be fixed. customer service was horrible for the most part, I only dealt with one person who was kind and helpful. I had to cancel my service today and go with a new company after their faulty equipment overheated and they would not help me get new equipment in a timely manner. Misleading Promotions, Broken Promises, and Poor Customer Service I had a promotional rate with Acanac that I was promised would renew for an additional two years at the same price. This promise was clearly communicated during my interaction and, as I understand, is recorded on their end. When I noticed my bill increased far beyond what I was promised, I initially called to resolve it. I admit I got frustrated and hung up during that call--it was upsetting to be misled again. Since then, however, I have remained factual and professional in all communications. Despite acknowledging that misleading information was provided, Acanac made no effort to correct it or take accountability. Their responses have been scripted and policy-focused, showing little regard for customer experience. This is not the first time I've experienced this type of issue with the company, and it reflects a pattern that is not customer-focused. I have since moved on to another provider, but I am sharing this experience, including on social media, so others can make informed decisions. I contacted them after many years of using their internet. Their customer service representatives have such strong accents that I can't really understand what they're saying. They wasted my time making me wait far too long just to speak with the so-called technical support, who didn't do anything to help. Was told I needed a new modem to fix the intermittent outages. Upgraded and now the internet crashes daily. Called customer support, waited an hour to be told I need to speak to tech services. Agent blind transfers me and the call disconnects. I finally get to a tech support agent and they need me to remote into the modem to get logs. After all of that BS the response was it's Roger's fault and we need to escalate to them and I can't get an answer till the end of the week. read more

I was with Acanac for 6 years. The cost was $371 for a year in 2018 for 5mb per second, the slowest service. They kept raising prices untill I was paying double and no increase in speed or better service. I decided to cancel and move to another provider. Acanac service is prepaid so I thought we are done once I canceled at the end of my one year contract. I installed the new service provider but Acanac kept caling me and harassing me. After two months I received a letter in the mail from collections agancy for $60 I owe to Acanac. It turned out that they didn't disconect the service on the date I asked and kept it going even though I already had a teksavvy modem connected and receiving internet from tecksavvy for two months. There is obviously paper trail to prove I wasn't using Acanac anymore in the period after my contract was done. In any case what kind of sick company sends you to collections for $60 after paying them thousands and being their loyal customer for 6 years. I spend a lot of time on the phone with Acanac but they don't care about my experience, all they care about is their $60. So I paid it today and I hope that this review will provide some crucial info to people who are thinking about signing up with Acanac. I would only recommend this company to my worst enemy. They could have charged me any amount in the end like $500, what would be my recourse, I still wouldn't be able to take them to court and would have to pay that amount. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I had other big and some smaller internet providers in the past. They were all generally more expensive than Acanac and some have questionable tech and customer service at times. RUN AWAY!!!!! The customer service at Acanac is beyond horrible. Every single one I've spoken with is clearly not a native English speaker. Several times, I've had to hang up and call back because I literally could not make out what they were saying. The support structure is so microfractionated that never mind left hand/right hand, the thumb doesn't know what the forefinger is doing! My request was simple: I am moving. I have the new place as of May 1, but I won't be moving in until June 1. For the month of May, I need service at both the new address and the current address. Sales (Indian) said I had to talk to Customer Service (Philippina) Customer Service (Indian) said I had to talk to Sales (Indian) Sales (Indian) then said I needed to talk to Cancellation (Latina) Cancellation (Latina) said I would be required to pay $120 to cancel the existing account, plus pay for a setup fee at the new address. I went full-metal-Karen and demanded to speak to a supervisor (btw: good luck with this - you will NEVER EVER speak to a supervisor!). I was informed it was not possible to transfer me, but she would send an email. that was at 10:30 this morning. at 5:30 p.m, I had still not received a phone call from anybody at all, let alone a supervisor. So I called back. Customer Service said I had to talk to Sales and I had to hang up - I am *damn good* with accents, but his was so thick that, added to the stuttering and stammering and searching for the right words, conversation was absolutely impossible. Called back and dialled through to Sales. This is what I said: "I need service set up at the new address as of May 1st and i need my current account to end as of June 1st. So for the month of May, I want Internet at two different locations. And I'm not paying $120 to cancel the current contract because I'm not leaving Acanac, I just need the services to overlap." We did the security verification (and by the way: EVERY TIME i was transferred, I had to do the f'g security verification because apparently it's IMPOSSIBLE for them to say "I've verified her identity - you know, like I used to do when i was dispatcher for HVAC and taking in pizza orders) and went around and around the block for him to conclude triumphantly "so you just want to move your service over as of June 1st!" "No, as of May 1st and I need my current service terminated as of June 1st" and here we go again. Finally, I ask "What if I transfer my current service to the new address but sign up a new account for the current address for just one month?" "Sure, we can do that. What's the address?" "49 Cowan." "49? You mean 48." "No, I mean 49." "Are you sure?" "I am literally parked out front staring at it." "According to our records, there's only even-numbered addresses. You can have service at 42, 44, 46, 48, even fifty." "WHY THE FUCK DO I WANT TO PAY FOR INTERNET AT A HOUSE I DON'T EVEN LIVE AT?!?????" Seriously. I just got off the phone with a customer service rep who repeatedly called me sir and a man. He said my Chinese name sounds like a man's (which is blatantly false, Chinese does not have gendered names, but also very insulting). He then proceeded to Google my name and claim there are men with my Chinese name, therefore it must be a man's name. He also repeatedly claimed I sound like a man (which is just absurd, never in my 18 years of living in Canada have anyone told me this!) Not only did he not apologise he kept laughing when I told him that he is being an ass, and his only defense is that he "has Chinese friends". He kept making inappropriate comments like asking me to guess his gender from his name. This is extremely unprofessional and I hope you don't treat any other Chinese clients this way, and I hope you reprimand this customer service rep. I placed an order for a new service for my house on the Nov. 17th 2020. I was GUARANTEED installation for the 24th. Since I haven't heard from them, I called to verify and I was told that the delivery date is now the 30th. I talked with an agents that said I received a text AND email on the 18th but i received neither(not in junk, etc). When I called back to talk to a second agent he told me that the confirmation was sent on the 23rd, but just an email and that they don't send text!! No supervisor on site, they will try to call back in 24 to 48 hours... P.S. After all the debacle and other empty promises, I decided to go with a different provider, then they charged me an extra $40 immediately, stating that I have their modem and they need to protect themselves if I keep the modem! I was in conversation with them to know how to return it, but they didn't say anything about charging me. PS, I'm still waiting for my refund, after it was supposed to be issued... Worst customer service EVER. They took payment for internet service to my house, then disabled my router, rendering it USELESS. That's only the start of my nightmare with this mickey mouse company. They also failed to install Fibre internet after 3...count them 3 installation appointments. They showed up at the wrong time (while I was at work) The 1st time, did the SAME THING the 2nd time around and after rescheduling with these incompetent fools a 3rd time, they call me on the day of install to tell me that they "don't do evening appointments for install" and left me with no 4th install reschedule date. Instead, they told me they'd call in a week or two to reschedule for a 4th f@%n time; which never happened I may add. Instead of installing my Fibre internet, they flat out canceled my cable internet that I already had working, deactivated my modem rendering it useless and STILL TOOK PAYMNETS FOR INTERNET USAGE. I can't stress this enough: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY SERVICE WHATSOEVER. THEY'RE USELESS, UNPROFESSIONAL AND TAKE NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR OWN SCREW UPS. was told the new fiber optic option would give me a better more stable connection for WiFi. exact opposite is true , losing signal 12 feet away from router. connections being dropped ,buffering that never happened with the old connection. Was told I needed WiFi extenders for a1200 sq ft house, based on WiFi Max test I may need 2 on each floor , my out side cameras may require one as well . Only way to know for sure is to buy them and install. Not in this lifetime . working from home just became much more difficult. read more

I was forced to give one star when in all reality they deserve negative stars, Acanac is by far the worst internet service provider I've ever dealt with and would highly recommend to avoid them like the plague. I have their services for a little over a year and found the internet to be slow so I called to see what I could do to speed it up I was on cable internet they offered a fibe option which I figured would be better but never had the opportunity to try it out. I had their Tech's come install a fibe line witch they never actually hooked up then after a few days I had no internet and when I called they claimed that the issue was on my end so I requested they just go back to cable which they would have but I was told I had to wait 2 weeks before they could do that so I closed my account then and there called a different provider and had internet 2 days later. Acanac sent me a label and I returned their hardware and a week later they took nearly $400 from my bank account claiming it was for the hardware they didn't receive, after 3 months of arguing with them I have finally been issued a refund of my funds. 1 star is being far to generous in regards to their Customer Service. If the cue isn't so long that they disconnect you immediately when you call their service line (and that is a big if), You will hear such helpful hints to rectify your issues such as: -It's your modem, you need a new one. -It's your router, you need a new one. -It's your laptop, you need a new one. -It's your cables, you need a new one. -It's your jack, you need a new one. -It's an issue with Bell After wasting significant time on hold & troubleshooting, your CSR will give you a shoulder shrug over the phone, and you the customer get to repeat the whole process again the next day. I have been with them for several years on DSL. Then recently switched to cable in a different home. I at first went with Tech Savvy because the deal was better. But after sending me a faulty modem and not admitting it, I went back to Acanac. I have ti say that I found thier customer service to be quite good. at first the cable connection jus5 didn't work. Their technitions showed up promptly and replaced all the lines from the street. still no internet. so then they sent another modem. Still nothing. After hours of trouble shooting over the phone with a very patient rep. they sent another modem (the third one all told) and it works fine. Honestly, these guys dont build the crappy hardware and they are constrained by Rogers. Within the parameters that they have control over, they are prompt and helpful. read more

With the account paid up to date they cut their services before Christmas without trying to inform me about it even though they had my cell phone on file. That created a great deal of problems in my family that led to me getting ill. Do not allow a poor managed company with individuals that are not trained properly and professional to reck your life. I would suggest going with another internet provider. They are a third party reseller of Rogers, so they are not the actual carrier, which leads to a lot of inconvenience, mainly because they have to go back and forth with Rogers to get confirmations and whatnot, so a lot of time is wasted, among other things. Their customer service is subpar at best and, unsurprisingly, once they have your money, its SAYONARA to any assistance that you might need from them. I called them around feb 12th or so, to cancel my service. I explained that I would be moving at the end of the month and so I would like it canceled by then , because I would no longer be needing their services at that point. instead, they cancelled my internet right away and when I called to explain my dilemma they simply told me that it would take a week to reinstall and that I would have to pay for an installation fee. which doesn't seem to make any sense to me since everything is installed and all they have to do is activate the line again, but that's what you get with Acanac! So in Conclusion, they make a mistake, I suffer from their mistake, and I have to pay (with my time and money) for their mistake to be corrected, and not in a timely manner either. save yourself the headache, time and money and go with another internet provider. read more
