This shop has the best homemade and vegan ice cream. Here you will not get a $2 kid's cone. But what you get will be unforgettable, and you hopefully will come back. I ordered the Farmer's breakfast, it came with Two eggs any style, choice of crispy bacon or chicken sausage, grilled sourdough, potatoes. The sourdough bread was grilled with no oil or butter. I asked for jelly thinking they would have compote. Instead they have mini jars of jelly. The main difference is that jam is a shelf-stable, fruit-puree preserve made with high amounts of sugar and added pectin. Compote is a chunkier, less sugary fruit sauce cooked quickly without pectin and meant to be eaten fresh. My husband had the Last Chicken Sandwich, which he said was good but the sandwich didn't come with a side just a $18 chicken sandwich that tasted wonderful.

I was so surprised that I had to try one. The jar I chose had a vanilla cake with two layers of orange icing. Opening the cute jar, the top layer of sweet icing was hard to break through to the cake. I would eliminate that layer, and go straight for the cake. The cake had an interesting texture, and the second layer of icing was good. Eating this was just enough. Novelty concept. Cake in a Jar would be good for an outdoor party, or special occasion.
