Ordered a birthday cake on short notice. They were able to have it ready next day and it was delicious! We got chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. The cake was moist and the frosting was the perfect balance of sweet and buttery. No crazy fondant or decorations on our cake but the writing and flowers were perfect and professional. Holiday HQ! At the intersection of gorgeous to look at and tasty is Sugar Me. For the past 4 years they have provided us with our traditional "Christmas Eve Cake". And for the past 2 years, cookies for our annual open house. I never leave without impulse purchasing an "extra" something from the case. It's a happy place with great energy. If I had a critique it would be that I would love an online ordering option for custom cakes. I visited on a Wednesday morning, and was welcomed right away. Nice selection of baked goods. Sugar Me is a wonderful local bakery tucked off Main Street near The Little Theater. I have used them for several cakes and they are always delicious and very fairly priced. They can make you any design you want (within reason and I am sure the bounds of the law lol), but don't expect some cheap appliqué- they actual craft the designs from their amazing frosting. While strolling in downtown Chagrin we love to stop in for a cupcake. If you have kids, it is especially great because they will make your kids feel very welcome and help them choose just the right item. read more

I was so disappointed in the cake we got from sugar me desserterie for an 18th birthday celebration. I wanted something very special and fancy for our 18 year old Rubik's cube enthusiast and couldn't believe the cake I picked up came from a professional bakery. Actually, I was embarrassed to serve it. When I went back to look at the pictures from the website, I'm still puzzled (and disappointed) at how all of these beautiful cakes are posted and we got something that looked like an amateur created. I realize the request of a Rubik's cube cake presents difficulty, but if they couldn't do it, they shouldn't have taken the order so I could find another bakery who could give us the special cake we wanted. The situation was made even worse when we cut into the cake and it wasn't even the right flavors! We ordered chocolate cake with raspberry filling and got vanilla on vanilla. We almost missed this bakery because it is kind of hidden, but I kept dragging my mom along until we found it and I'm glad that we did! I couldn't believe the selection, ranging from cupcakes to biscotti to french macarons to various types of cookies. It was really hard to choose. We ended up with a pink champagne french macaron, pistachio cranberry biscotti dipped in white chocolate, and a mini key lime pie. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the biscotti because it was tender and had a nice variety of flavors. The macaron consistency was a bit dry for my taste, but the flavor was good. I should have gotten more than one of the mini key lime pies because it was really good, especially the buttery crust. I would definitely recommend this bakery if you are out and about in the Chagrin Falls area. read more

I LOVE THIS BAKERY. YES, I'M TALKING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I'M THAT EXCITED. Sugar Me is a lovely addition to the east side. They also have a few parking spots designated just for customers. Hooray! That alone is GOLD for Chagrin Falls. Once your GPS tells you you've arrived, navigate to the back of the buildings and look for their sweet little sign with white lights. While the interior is very small, the bakery selection is outstanding. When I brought home my tasty treats, the box didn't even last 24 hours in my house. My Mom and I maintain that Sugar Me has the best cream puff we've ever had. Everything in this bakery is completely authentic...and you can taste the homemade love in every bite! I recommend: -Cream puff -Bourbon pecan blondie -The o-ho (homemade Ho-ho) -Lemon ciambella cookies -Upside down caramel banana bread -Chocolate covered peppermint patty While they don't have a full café, they have coffee, tea and hot chocolate. This shop is adorable and fits right into the small town chic of Chagrin Falls. My partner and I had a few pastries and coffee. The pastries were phenomenal and the coffee wasn't too bad considering the location. The shopkeep (I think her name was Sascha), was very friendly and talked to us about their catering business. The coffee is locally roasted by Rising Star Coffee (http://www.risingstarcoffee.com/) and they grind the beans and make each cup upon order. I tried a few mini desserts and they were all delicious in the way that only freshly, lovingly made desserts can be. Melt in your mouth, roll your eyes up in your head good! They had such a huge variety of beautiful items, it was very hard to choose. So if you need dessert after dinner, an afternoon sugar fix, or cake for 500, this is the place for you. If you happen to be on foot, Sugar Me is easy to get to via River Street, just past the Chagrin Valley Little Theater on your right. read more

As an avid home baker, I am sort of reluctant to purchase anything because it is often mediocre at best. However, Sugar Me is the absolute exception . Love everything we have ever tried here and you can just taste the butter and sugar- no fake anything in their goods. My kids are obsessed with their macaroons and their peppermint patties. For me, I love the trail cookies and the flourless peanut butter cookies. And, this is the only place we ever get birthday cakes from. The best around and if you have not had the chance to try it here, please do. The place is a little small and the parking is a drag, but it is worth the trip. read more

They apparently have so much business and demand that they have no interest in helping you get an order in! They were so helpful when I called and the cake exceeded my expectations in taste and design. Worth every penny. I finally went into this bakery! I purchased two cookies...a chocolate chip one and an iced lemon one with cream cheese frosting. The cookies tasted bland. They were soft, no chewiness and the chocolate chip had barely any chocolate chips. I gave the lemon one away, and my friend concurred that it was awful. I may be wrong, but these tasted as if they're made with a shortening (crisco) or a shortening-butter combination. This will make soft cookies, but you sacrifice flavor. In any case, for a dollar-plus a cookie, they should be amazing from a bakery. The cashier was nice, but offered no suggestions, and just stood and stared until I made a selection. The shop is very tiny and cute. Maybe their cakes are better, but I don't think I'll be back. read more

I've ordered numerous cakes from sugar me. All have been excellent! The design of the cakes is beautiful and the flavor of the cake is amazing. My favorite is their almond cake with almond frosting. In addition to their cakes for special events, the different cookie and brownie bars they have for sale at the counter are delicious! Stopped in for the first time today as I had heard this past week that Brittany, whom we had met when she worked at L'Albatros, had started this patisserie. The website is very good and the pastries we had were excellent. We ordered a Sugar Lime Cookie, a Napoleon, a Fudge Brownie with Pistachio Topping and a Chocolate Whoopie cookie. Next time we're going to try a S'Mores cookie. The person in line behind us said that Sugar Me is as close to a French patisserie as you're going to find around here. I suppose you could add Coquette Patisserie in University Circle to that list but it's great having Sugar Me so close. They have very good store hours including noon to 4:00 PM on Sunday which means we may be stopping in after church. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE Ever with a Vendor. They "FORGOT" to make a WEDDING CAKE. After 2 in person meetings, emails, phone calls, and providing payment in full, they forgot to bake the Wedding Cake! They claimed to have written down the wrong day. Despite notifying them prior to the reception they stated they couldn't do anything about it, even though the bakery was open for several more hours. Literally the worst customer service. They lack professionalism and are unable to fulfill their commitments. And their response to a review contains false information insinuating they didn't know until it was too late to do something (see Facebook). Stay away if you have a special day planned. Consider yourself warned. Its unfortunate as we were truly excited to work with this vendor but were let down by their unprofessionalism and incompetence. read more
