I've eaten more of their cupcakes than actually visited in person but I can attest to the yumminess of their buttercream! It is sweet but not as sweet as other bakeries. It is fluffy and whipped but still dense enough to be creamy. The look is beautiful and very appetizing. However...the size of the cupcakes are just normal and they are $4 EACH. Their macarons are also $4 EACH. Highway robbery lol but sometimes I do crave these! My favorite flavors are sea salt caramel, chocolate mousse and cookies 'n cream. When my wife and I were in the area shopping we stopped by White Flower to satisfy our sweet craving. The only thing wrong with this shop is the amount it sweet indulgences that are available...cakes, cup cakes, cookies, brownie...blondies if I recall correctly. As I understand it everything is made in-house...we bought a cupcake and a lemon bar, both super delicious. The moral of the story buy everything you like...there is always tomorrow to enjoy the wonderfulness they offer here. If there is a downside, they are NOT an peanut free facility. I recall they sell a peanut butter brownie, which I didn't get because I have a daughter who has a sever peanut allergy. read more

This cake shop has loads of amazing looking cakes, cookies and cupcakes. When I went in I was having a hard time selecting what I wanted because I wanted it all. I selected two brownies with buttercream flowers on top and was so excited to take them home to try them. However, when I took my first bite I noticed that the brownies were old and stale. It tasted like it had been frozen for too long because it had a plastic taste. Very disappointing considering how much they charge for these. Doesn't make me want to go back. read more

I am so happy with this place! I reserved the room for a party on Saturday, and it was a cupcake decorating party. Patrons are allowed to bring their own food and drinks if interested. That's what really sealed the deal for me in choosing this place. Alcohol is allowed! The owner (or at least one of them?) was very nice and there during the party. She kindly stayed away from the celebrations but was easily found if we needed assistance. Clean up was so easy going. I mean, I think we did a good job but she didn't even check! It is nice when people aren't over bearing. I have to give a special shoutout to the macarons. Crispy, but not crumbly, on the outside, soft and slightly chewy in the middle, with light filling. Who has a sweet tooth? I know you do...and you will love, love this sweet little cupcake shop in Solon. The interior of this shop is bright, airy and welcoming. When you enter, you're greeted by colorful décor and open seating that's inviting to grab a cup of coffee and nibble on a cupcake. They also have a small room in the back for private classes and parties. This locally owned business has two locations, one in Solon and one in Beachwood...and I am sooo happy they exist. For starters, they create fabulous custom cakes that have true artistry (I was drooling watching people pick them up!). They also have a small refrigerator where they store a few pre-made custom cakes, which are available until they're gone. Ok, onto the goof stuff. My cupcakes were excellent. I left with the strawberry cassata, almond blossom, chocolate peanut butter and a specialty flower. I'm normally not a chocolate cake person, but that cupcake was rich and flavorful, and my favorite of the bunch. The other cupcakes didn't last long in my house, which says a lot! These ladies clearly know what they are doing, and this entire shop is full of heart and character. I can't wait to come back here for all my birthday/holiday cake-worthy needs. read more

This place is super cute! Their cupcakes are delicious- the selection offers something for everyone and the cupcakes are refrigerated, which I love. Staff is super sweet and sociable. I think the only downside to this spot is the lack of seating, it's so small that it doesn't really accommodate "the experience" that said, I don't think they have coffee either. The artistry is beautiful, but last week I picked up a dozen cupcakes for my husbands birthday and the cake was really dry. I'm not sure if they keep the cupcakes in the case for a few days but they were not fresh. They were over $40 so I would have hoped that they were fresh. The cakes on the other hand are another story. I shelled out about $300 for a cake for a very special birthday. I almost died when I saw the price. You are paying for the artistry. The cake was absolutely beautiful, but when we cut it, the cake tasted like fondant. In face most of what you could see was fondant. The cake was a very small amount of what this cake was. Most of the cake was fondant. Sadly, we were all disappointed. If you are looking for a decoration, this is the cake for you. If you want a real cake, maybe Giant Eagle is the place to go. read more

We ordered brownies last minute for a family party for my neice and nephew for Halloween. The cheesecake brownie was huge and easily served 3! The brownie bites were also huge and cut in half for 2 servings. The brownies were delicious and the people assisting us with curbside pickup were awesome! Thank you! We tried this location today after having tried he ones in the mall in a previous visit. Sadly, it was not a great experience. While the shop is charming and the cupcakes are very inviting in their appearance, the taste does not provide adequate follow through. My sister, daughter and I chose a white cake slice that was to be like a wedding cake, an almond buttercream cupcake and a red velvet. The cupcakes came served on a dessert plate which was really a nice touch. The cake slice was packaged to go in a box complete with a fork. I have posted pics of each. I'll start with the cupcakes. The Almond Buttercream was waxy and had an aftertaste. The white cake it was decorating was very dry and dense. Not very appealing at all. My sister did not care for it either. My daughter said her red velvet was, ok, but we all agreed it was a very dense cupcake as well and very good of flavor. The best part was the cream cheese icing. Now that I would like but on a better cake. The cake slice was a let down from the moment we opened the box. The way it was packaged had smashed the icing so it wasn't pretty or inviting. The taste was lousy. Hard as a rock and the icing was nothing like a wedding cake icing. Nor was the cake. All in all it just was not what we had hoped for. Very bummed. read more

Solon's White Flower Cake Shoppe is the sweetest place around!! First of all, the cupcakes are delicious! I can't even begin to describe my love of their buttercream frosting!! Not only are the treats YUMMY, but they are equally beautiful! Their signature flower is simply gorgeous and makes every cake stunning! Some of my favorite cupcakes are the signature white, red velvet, chocolate bomb, and the strawberry cassata! Plus, they now offer buttercream samplers, which fulfill my occasional sweet tooth and love of frosting!! You can imagine what a tough time I have deciding on my birthday cakes! They offer decorating classes, which I have taken, and they are SUPER fun! We each took home six beautifully decorated cupcakes! My next visit to the Shoppe will be to test my skills as I decorate my own cupcake! I love White Flower. Today I participated in the Beginner's Buttercream class taught by Maryann. Fantastic class. The 2 hours flew by. We learned basic decorating tips and techniques, and we each got to decorate and take home a 6 " cake. They make it look so easy but when you get into it, you can see how much practice it takes. I didn't think the bakery would share its actual recipe for their buttercream recipe...but when they say they use a Swiss Meringue Buttercream and gave us a recipe for French Meringue Buttercream, I thought that was a huge miss. Why do that? I think it would have been better to give us a recipe for SMB and discuss the differences it has vs French and American and Italian Buttercream. And maybe let us use aprons or give class attendees an apron to take home. That would be a nice addition to future classes. read more
