He was extremely thorough, immediately responsive and an absolute pleasure to work with! We needed this space done to make room for our growing family and he even brought a very nice gift when our daughter was born! He worked with our existing subfloor which squeaked with every step and was not level. They secured the subfloor and then leveled in sections to take the curse out of the floor. It is absolutely rock solid now, no squeaks, no visible dips or waves. Marty brought and left us with four flooring samples to choose from. After we picked, he installed then stained several sample spots in three different stains and gave us time to pick our favorite. This gave us a lot of freedom and confidence to make the right decision. The team that does the work is very detail oriented, dedicated to their craft and take a lot of pride in their work. They also use the highest quality materials as well (flooring paper, hardwood, stair treads, and poly). They know how to do the job right so it will last and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The larger project involved several sub-contractors but this was one group I did not have to worry about! Would highly recommend! From the first call placed to the final result, I can not recommend RKM enough!! We mostly worked…read morewith Rob, who provided oversight to all flooring and tile projects, as well as working with our general contractor, who at the time had several different contractors working at the same time. Rob and his team were very flexible and thorough. Rob had my husband and I come to his showroom where we were offered a surprisingly large selection of flooring and tiling options, and worked with us to help us create a custom look that we wanted for our home. **side note: we finished construction on our addition/modification to existing home in early 2019, so we have had ample time to "break in" the floor and tile from every day use. I must say that the work done was very high quality, as we have not one negative thing to say about it! Everything is in wonderful shape, and we are still just as happy as we were when it was first installed!** TILE WORK: amazing. Rob and his tile installers were great--I told Rob that I wanted two niches in the shower, and he made it happen--no questions asked. There was an issue we had (on our end) with the studs in that shower wall, and he worked with the GC to create a solution where we were able to have our niches without having to compromise. The two tilers were friendly, fast and very efficient. You can tell they've been doing it for years. They did a wonderful job on our floor and shower, and we couldn't be happier. My in-laws had the same process as we had with Rob, and are very happy with their choices and work as well! LVF: This was one of the last projects we had RKM do, my husband wanted a flooring for his basement "man cave" so Rob guided us to luxury vinyl flooring. He knew what look we had in mind and matched us with a LVF which was not only cost friendly, but was exactly what we wanted for the space. His LVF installation guys were in and out in one morning--I couldn't believe how fast it was! It's been a year since the installation, and the floor is still perfect. WOOD FLOORING: My in-laws had to pick out flooring for their 2 story addition, and Rob was very helpful throughout. My MIL had a specific wider-planked style in mind (which had to be special ordered), and Rob did a great job searching and working with her to find the perfect finish. The floors are so beautiful in person! He even helped her find wooden flooring vents which perfectly matched the hardwoods! KITCHEN BACKSPLASH: My MIL wanted these oversized aqua tiles and ended up purchasing them on her own; and RKM's tilers installed. They did a wonderful job! We had standard white subway tile with dark gray grout installed in our kitchen. They did a wonderful job with that too!! REFINISHING HARDWOODS: we had RKM come in to refinish our dated orange-ish oak floors to a more neutral brown tone in our family room. We scheduled it to be done while we were away for vacation, but they were done in (I believe) 3 days from start to finish. The flooring looks great, and we removed the baseboards beforehand to make it easier for them. We have tilework on the floor around the fireplace, and working with stain I was a little nervous about how clean the edges around it would be--but it was perfect! No bleeding, no splashes, no inconsistency in the color--I will definitely be calling again when we decide to refinish the rest of the downstairs! All in all, I would happily give RKM's team of Rob and his installers the highest possible rating. They are all high quality, experienced workers, who know exactly what they are doing, and are super efficient. I cannot day enough good things about them. Thank you so much RKM for helping to make our house a beautiful home that we are so happy with!

They refinished my current hardwood floors in 3 rooms, and the stairs while installing and finishing hardwoods in a fourth room. In addition, they laid tile in my foyer and mudroom/laundry/bath area - which all came out beautiful. I felt as though Rob partnered with me every step of the way. I would 100% use RKM again and 100% recommend them to anyone for their flooring/tile needs.

I have a very small condo and I had no idea how they would find space to move everything around to do the job, but they did! Another challenge was that I have this awesome but very large, heavy storage bed. I had no idea how it could be moved out of the way even if it were disassembled. Tony suggested we just leave it there and refinish around it. Brilliant! I would only have put the bed back on top of it away. If I ever want to sell, I can remove the bed and do it then. So to recap, they managed to do a job I thought was basically impossible in only two days and at a reasonable price. Thanks, Tony!

We contracted Mike and Prides Hardwood Floor after my wife found them on the internet. Their…read morereviews, information, website, and experience was apparent from our online research. From the very first call we knew we made the right decision. For those like us who never owned a home and have no idea what a floor refinishing contractor may need and what the experience is like, here's how it worked. Mike needed a reasonable estimate of the square footage that needed to be worked on. He then clearly explained the options as far as number of layers of finish, cleaning, and service that he and his company could provide, with cost estimates at each option. Having looked at other contractors in the area, I can tell you Mike's pricing is very reasonable for what is out there in the South Shore area. He walked us through the process from start to finish - we went with a three coat poly-urethane treatment. This being our first home purchase, me in the middle of full time summer classes, working full time, and trying to coordinate home inspections, mortgage lenders, and my wife making me responsible for the floors made it a very stressful time. Mike made it simple. I left the keys under the mat for him and his guys did the work for three days straight. My aunt-in-law was able to peek inside the windows one afternoon and she immediately texted us - "your floors look amazing!" We got excited. Mike and Prides did all the work without us ever having to be there (very convenient when you're already taking too much time off work for meeting your mortgage lender, realtor, home inspector, etc) and left the key under the mat when he was done. Once we got in and saw it - we were blown away! The floors looked NEW. In fact, I remember Mike calling me at work the first day and telling me - "your floors are in real rough shape. But we're going to make them look great" - and he did. The first week with my family, in-laws, friends, and everyone stopping by our new house and without fail the first thing they always say when they come in is "your floors look incredible - are they new?" The job Mike and Prides did is unbelievable and worth every penny. I wouldn't have done it any differently. Many friends and neighbors have asked who did our floors and we've gladly spread Mike and Pride's info to all of them. The only caveat I would put out there is we got bit by the weather. They worked on the floors Monday through Wednesday, after we closed on the prior Friday (while the house was empty - that makes it so much easier) and we were to move in on the following Friday. Problem was that Thursday had a lot of rain - Mike had to leave the windows closed in fear of the moisture and water ruining the job. This was completely out of their hands and we got there early Friday before the move to open the windows and start airing it out. The smell lasted a bit through Saturday before I'd say it was all gone on Sunday. This was all explained to us upfront and reasonably handled - but I do think if you're going to get a floor redone (with Prides or someone else) you want to leave as much time as possible between when they finish and you have to move in. Overall, as the first contractors my wife and I have employed in our first house, I am extremely happy with the service I got. Mike called and texted back and forth with me immediately whenever I had questions, wanted an update, or if he had something he needed from me. If only everyone in this world was as easy to work with as him and his team, I think people would get along a lot better. I can't recommend him and his team enough.
