I was pregnant and we were moving so it was important things get done on time. I ended up going into labor the day before the floors were supposed to be refinished. My father in law called to confirm for us that the floors were getting done the next day, and the new owner said he had in his appointment book a different day (even though I have a text message stating differently). The floors are terrible. They were supposed to do multiple coats and if that is the case, they wouldn't be so easily scratched. The floors were only redone 2 months ago and these are solid wood floors. Already there are scratches and all of our furniture has pads on them to prevent scratching. I regret using this company and when there was the scheduling conflict, I should have gone with a different company. I highly doubt multiple finishing coats were put on and am very pissed I am going to have to get these floors done again in the near future. STAY AWAY - WASTE OF MONEY

But the finished floors were the star of the show! The floors look new. Not repaired, not improved - NEW. We have a long house, and you can see a huge expanse of wooden flooring from one end to the other, and the effect is now gorgeous. We are entirely happy and we got exactly what we'd hoped for. We got quotes from a few places, but Michael was the only person who offered an in-home estimate. He answered all our questions, told us exactly what to expect, gave us an estimate on the spot, and was able to schedule us on relatively short notice. Communication was great. Michael & co were clear about how long the work would take, showed up when they said they would, and sent us pictures after staining and after the first coat of polyurethane. Their attention to detail really shows, and they did a great job wrapping appliances and smoke detectors too and generally cleaning up after themselves. Our GC recommended we go with Tan's Floor Service, and we're SO GLAD we did!!! Tony and his team are incredibly kind and competent. A few areas in particular that stood out to us: 1. Repairs were done beautifully. an 1870 house has a lot of different types of floors from 150 years of repairs... Tony's team matched the flooring very well (super thoughtful in the wood they chose). 2. Midway through the project, we decided we needed to replace the stairs. A lot of them were cracking, and moving in with two kids we decided now was the time to do it. Tony's team expertly replaced the stairs, including putting in the crown molding. 3. The sanding and staining was done much more thoroughly than wha we experienced with a floor crew we used in our current home. We recommend Tony and his team very highly!
