The quote was great and inside the budget we'd allowed and we got a ton more than we expected - broken boards replaced, boards that had been replaced with the wrong wood were removed and redone with the correct, matching wood, a couple of boards that didn't lay completely flat were repaired, and so on. But the finished floors were the star of the show! The floors look new. Not repaired, not improved - NEW. We have a long house, and you can see a huge expanse of wooden flooring from one end to the other, and the effect is now gorgeous. We are entirely happy and we got exactly what we'd hoped for. TL:DR We hired Max and his team to put new wood floors on our second floors and staircase. He and his team did a fantastic job from the initial quote to completion. I highly recommend Luxe Flooring - they are very knowledgeable and skilled craftsman, excellent communication with Max, and very reasonable cost. I'll go into a bit more detail here: My wife and I wanted to put new bamboo wood floor on our second floor to match the downstairs bamboo we already have. The project included a curved staircase that doubles back to a landing, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. Luxe was the second flooring company we got a quote with. After reaching out to the highest rated Yelp flooring company in our area we wanted to get a second opinion. Max was better in every way. During the initial estimate Max took much more time to go into detail about all the work he would be taking care of and asked us questions to help him come up with an appropriate and detailed quote of all the labor and materials required. The other company didn't ask many questions and once we spoke with Max from Luxe, we felt so much more relaxed feeling that we were going to be in good hands. To top things off, Max's estimate was a bit lower than the other and his quote really broke down the cost so we could see it all and it made sense. It was a no brainer for us to choose Luxe and we were able to get started just a week and a half later. Max was very responsive in the lead up to the project and we kept in touch via text/call to go over all the details as he ordered the materials. He made excellent recommendations for the vinyl flooring in the bathroom which is much better quality than the one that was originally in the bathroom. And the bamboo flooring was a very close match to the floors we already have downstairs. Max's team was incredibly hardworking. They showed up right on time every morning, took a short break for lunch, and cleaned up before they left each day. Our project took six days to complete which was seemed very reasonable for the difficulty of our house. We live in a very old house and none of the walls are squared off so it took many complicated cuts to get everything aligned perfectly. And it all was. The stairs were even trickier since they wrapped around back to the top landing and the stairs seemed to take the longest. They look fantastic. Some planks in the box were darker than what I chosen as a sample. Max and his team went through the boxes and only used the lighter pieces that I preferred. they did an excellent job color matching. Max searched all the flooring stores to make sure he found the planks, thresholds and bull noses that matched what I wanted. His team showed up on time, went right to work and checked in regularly with me to make sure the layout looked good to me. Max at Luxe Flooring is a true professional! We hired him and his team to replace old hardwood flooring with new in late February, 2024. From the first meeting when he came by to look at the room and discuss the project, Max seemed like a partner and helpful advisor. This factor (combined with his high rating, fair pricing, and nice website portfolio) is what made us decide to hire Max over other vendors that visited and provided estimates. His communication was always timely and thorough which matters A LOT on home improvement projects. During the removal of the old flooring, Max and his team ended up uncovering some asbestos tiles and water damage from an adjacent bathroom under our existing flooring and gave us some pointers on what we'd need to do to get it back to a condition that was suitable to install our investment of brand new hardwood flooring upon! We stayed in contact with Max while we had that stuff taken care of through the appropriate vendors. He didn't leave us high and dry and worked to fit us in his schedule when the removal and repairs were done, returning to install the new flooring (in just 2 days for 268 sq. ft.) in early April 2024. My situation was tricky as I needed a patch in the engineered hardwood floor that was 17 years old, or I had to replace the floor in the entire unit to make it look good.
