They are in the business of sales but not if you go back two or three times because you haven't found anything you really liked. We had a very expensive carpet installed as well as the most expensive pad that was available. Upon arrival at our home, the installers told us that they left the door open and a SNAKE went inside of the house and into our BRAND NEW $3,000 couches. Instead of notifying us through the proper channels right away, they chose to ignore it for several hours and casually told us that there was a SNAKE in the house. By the time we were fully aware of the situation, it was after business hours and we were unable to call the office. The next day, (today) I called and asked to speak to a manager. Instead, I was speaking to the owner (who failed to introduce himself as such). First, I would like to say that the owner who's name is Jack, is the RUDEST, most UNPROFESSIONAL, business owner that I have EVER spoken to. He is absolutely the most vain person that I have ever done business with. He has a disgusting attitude and seems to go out of his way to treat LAW ENFORCEMENT and FIRST RESPONDERS like absolute garbage. I will NEVER do business with him again, nor will our contractors. The owner referred to my husband as an "asshole" and a "dick" and raised his voice at us when we calmly expressed our concerns. Not only did they leave a snake loose in our home, but they were extremely COMPLACENT, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, IGNORANT, VAIN, and OFFENSIVE. Do not support this business. The owner needs an attitude adjustment; maybe several anger management classes would do him some good. Jack is so rude and also hung up on us. And if anyone is in law enforcement or is a first responder or veteran, DO NOT give your hard earned money to this company. I went in and picked out a carpet , they came the next day to measure . The carpet was in , in a week and installed . They were helpful when I was in there picking it out and the gentleman who installed it did a great job and helped move big furniture . They made replacing carpet a lot easier . I took off a star because the only day I had to sign papers before installation the person I dealt with was not there and I had to wait for another worker to figure out where they were . And before they found them they had asked if i could come back another day when I had already let them know that was my only day off . I called the office that was supposed to be open till 6 PM and they were already closed before 5. Karen was very rude as she stated there is nothing she can do and pretty much hung up. We are selling our home so decided to install new carpet. Initially I wanted to keep the carpet in some of the rooms and find a matching carpet for the rest of the house. We called a couple places in Lancaster and decided on Carpeteria because they had the best price. Karen came out and measured our square footage, then we went to the store to look at samples. Since we couldn't find a good enough match for the existing carpet, we decided to do the whole house. We spoke with Jack, and he quoted us a price for the whole house based on our estimate of square footage, since Karen hadn't measured the rooms I hadn't planned on re-carpeting. In addition, we wanted to replace the baseboards in our master bedroom, also included in the price. The carpet installers came on Wednesday July 27th, they were quick and efficient and friendly enough. They informed me they were done, and left in a hurry without doing a walk through. When we did do a walk through however, we noticed several issues. First, they missed a small closet under the stairs. Then we noticed that the baseboards were not installed very well. I was shocked at the job they did on the baseboards. They were cracked in some places, hammer marks visible in others, misaligned corners, and nails visible that hadn't been filled in and painted. My husband called Jack and set up a time for them to come and carpet the downstairs closet and fix the baseboards. They were supposed to show up on Friday the 29th between 1pm-5pm. Rather large window for us to sit around and wait. They never came. We called back that evening and informed Jack, so he said they would show up on Saturday between 7:30am-8am. Guess what? They never showed. I called back again and this time spoke to Jack and described in detail what the baseboards looked like, and even emailed him a photo. His response was "Sorry about that..." He then told us that William would be by around 11am to fix everything, and before I hung up he said "by the way, we used considerably more carpet than your gues-timate." Uh gee thanks Jack, maybe you should have had someone properly measure the square footage. Anyway, 11am rolls around, and still nothing. My husband called Jack AGAIN, and again we were told that William would be by that afternoon and that William would be calling. So, William eventually shows up around 1pm, installs the carpet and takes a look at the baseboards. He starts to caulk the broken board and my husband says "no, they need to be replaced." William tells us that Jack told him to just patch it up with caulk. Unbelievable. So today is Monday August 1st and we are waiting for a call from Jack to schedule a time to properly fix the baseboards, at least I think that's what he'll do. Bottom line: The customer service was great up front, but once they have your money they're not so great anymore. In retrospect, I would have paid $200 more for a proper installation. I would definitely not recommend Carpeteria of Lancaster. read more

I shopped around and found the best cost here (for value that is). I could have purchased for cheaper but I wanted a stainmaster brand carpet. I found the style and price that I felt was fair. Also, My wife wanted wood. Again we found the price, style, and brand that we wanted. I dealt mainly with Karen, but was introduced to Jack. He reassured me of the install date and even followed up prior to install to verify the day and time. The guys showed up on time, and clean. I left and by the time I came home, the job was complete. They left nothing laying around and completed the job beatifully. This was true Quality! They were very competitive price wise and I even saved on the wood over Lowes. I purchased Stainmaster carpet and wood floors. I did a true price comparison...it was based on "Apples to Apples". Compared to another two carpet stores I shopped, They were actually the same price and less on one. Plus they didn't penny and nickel me by charging me for every nail, drop of glue, or "diagonal cut" they had to make. (one store was charging me a "Diaganol wood cutting charge". My husband and I wanted to replace the floors in the entire house. We knew going in on a huge project like this would not be cheap. We visited all of the flooring stores in the AV area, did our research and decided to go with Carpeteria. Upon entering we were greeted by Mike. He was friendly and took over an hour to answer every question we had. We brought in samples to match the color tile we were looking for. Once we found one we liked he didn't try to up sell. I really appreciated that, and it is one of the reasons why we ended up choosing Carpeteria to do our floors. We actually went back to Carpeteria three times before signing paperwork and sealing the deal. Mike worked with us to reach an amount we were both happy with. The owner (Jack) came over introduced himself and informed us if we had any questions to call his cell directly. Customer service is very important and it shows. Even when I called and asked questions I had a response or call back in just a few minutes. Luis and his crew (Alvaro & Richard) showed up the first day and helped move furniture to the garage before removing our old flooring. They removed everything and swept, vacuumed and picked up everything. The floor was clean and ready to have tile put down. They next day two other guys joined the crew and worked hard for four days. The original order had the wrong amount of tile, too few small tiles but Luis was on top of it. He contacted the supplier and arranged pickup so there wouldn't be a delay in our flooring. The next morning at 8am exactly the Carpet guys showed up. They ripped out our old carpet and swept the floors before putting down the new carpet. The rooms looked great. The vacuumed everything up so the rooms were move in ready. Overall, we were happy from start to finish. The only reason why I couldn't give Carpeteria 5 stars is because the grout is different colors in the house and there are a few chips in some of the tiles, big enough to bother me. Although, when I returned to pay the remaining balance, I informed Mike about these issues and he offered to make it right. I read some complaints about customers having issues trying to replace their stain master carpet. I will definitely be updating my review in the future when the time comes. read more

Shopping for carpet remnants for a home gym. We stopped at Carpeteria because they were having a "sale" on remnants. First off the receptionist at the front desk was put off at the fact we even walked in. Apparently my wife and I were interrupting her "I get paid to sit here and do nothing time". They quoted $600 for a 10x20 piece + pad and no labor (I can install it myself). Sounds more like full price to me. Home Depot has the same quality and a 12 X 17 (which I actually only needed a 10X16) size for $149. Do yourself a favor and don't waste a second of your time here. When we walked in, the staff was helpful without being annoying, and were eager to answer our questions with detailed responses. Our customer service/sales agent was Karen, and she was amazing. We came and went several times, and at no point were we pressured to make a purchase. When we had them present a bid to us, the measurement was careful and precise, and the bid was back to us the same day. Once we decided to explore their selection a bit more based on the bid, the staff made every accommodation to ensure we got the best quality product. They had a deal on laminate installation (3.99 sq/ft installed) and went above and beyond that deal. We got a high grade laminate flooring with the deal, which was not supposed to be included, and a high quality underlayment as well for a bargain. When installation came, the installers were professional, hard working, and honest. I was quite happy to have them in my home for a few days. Despite several unexpected setbacks, they never charged me more for the extra effort. Their work was exemplary and, when a minor defect was found, they rushed back and repaired it with no complaints. It makes me feel good to know that their labor is guaranteed. After this, I raved to my sister about my experience, and lo and behold, she went with them after she got an amazing deal as well.
