We gave Julian the theme of "magical space" and he did not disappoint, he had multiple ideas that we loved and embraced, including the IR sensors to turn on LED lights and installing a secret bookshelf with a hidden lock to access the space. This allowed us to have our child use a magical spell and wand to turn on certain lights. This was a large project, which involved moving electrical wiring, plumbing, and support beams. In the end Julian helped us turn a seldom used under the staircase closet into a great "Harry Potter" themed play area with increased storage for our children, this playroom will bring great memories for many years for them! We have some wood floors we wanted serviced that included replacing some bad planks. Luckily, we found a few planks from the previous owners. Carlos arrived for the estimate on time and gave us honest and sincere information. Unfortunately our floors could not be sanded and refinished due to the lack of available wood on the old planks. Carlos recommended polishing and sealing the floors as well as replacing the bad planks under the fridge and some others through the kitchen. On the day for the work to be done, Carlos and his crew arrived on time and got right to work on the repairs. Day 2 was sealing day and I have to say the end result looks great. About 1200 sqft and 60 linear feet of baseboard extension for the sunken bedroom. Carlos came to our house with a sample sheet. Then measured and made an estimate that evening. Everything was above-board, in writing, licensed, and insured. The work done was beautiful, timely, and efficient! There was no materials markup: he put me in contact with his supplier, and I bought directly from them through his business account or cash if I preferred. That was good because we changed our mind about the color when we could see the large samples at the showroom. When the flooring arrived, he advised us to acclimate it for 24 hours, what a pro, then he installed it all over the weekend! We wanted to keep the existing wood laminate, you know, save $600, but he and we knew it would look much better if we replaced it all. Just look at the photos. He knows hard wood floors really well and was able to start the project the next day after coming to assess my floors. Back story, we went to vacation for 3 weeks to return to our kitchen floors warped. They were warped like a small wave... not a big deal we thought!! Wrong ...as days progressed the floors began to lift and open up... it was incredible how alive the wood became. The floor rises up nearly 3 inches. We found out that the fridge tubbing had a micro leak behind which caused the wall to get ruined and the floors as you can see. We panicked and called and got some ridiculous assessments over the phone with consistent people telling us that they needed to refinish the whole house. But why? The problem is in the kitchen not in my bedrooms, living room etc! I mean... having to empty your house is a horrifying thought and overwhelming, especially if you have pets, children and a husband haha FYI...My husband is awesome but I knew the brunt of emptying the house would fall on me- a full time worker! So Alberto came in like a night in shining armor! I was nervous to start this project but he made it happen. They came in the next day, removed the floors in the kitchen, let it air dry for a few days, brought in the new oak wood planks to get adjusted to the house environment, then he placed them, sanded and stained. He had already warned me that the floor was going to match 80% and I was ok with that. See for yourselves... it came out pretty great! You won't regret calling Alberto!
