I've always acted as my own general contractor…read more I'm a quality over quantity mynded & focused person observing the John Ruskin rule of "economics": It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better. John Ruskin Home Castle Concepts offers choices from budget to quality & any "up-sells" is only professional "learned from hard experience" cautioning towards considering a longer lasting higher quality product with better life-time performance. I've HAPPILY contracted with HomeCastle Concepts for 2 complete Condo Remodels in the PrestonHollow area of Dallas. Mr. Kelly Not only assisted us with expert proposals but subsequently helped my daughter out as a referral. Being on the 2nd. floor we opted for a more substantial & expensive "Tempur-pedic" carpet pad Out of consideration for the downstairs neighbor (After years of living there she remarked that she never heard us walking around upstairs). On the second condo I went "budget" & opted for a single linoleum floor in the kitchen which I would no longer recommend to anyone going forward. Ceramic tile it or just leave the concrete Bare-naked & alone....Don't try to save money in the kitchen....A far busier room, as far as usage, than one would realize. They also graciously installed a hardwood floor in our dining room with some leftover wood-flooring that we had after we did the hallway ourselves. All-in-all??, If you bring yourself along with an educated perspective & don't try to low-buck or lowball your project? I think you'll be deeply rewarded and happy with the results that Home Castle Concepts brings. As far as the one star reviews?. Independent contractors secured by companies are not a reflection of that company but only of the independent contractors ability. Blame the right people, people. As for shower pans? Perhaps homeowner should act as their own green tag code-inspectors in the process & become educated as to the proper methods of installing shower pans & bathroom tile parameters. Starr tile on YouTube is a great place to start. https://www.youtube.com/user/StarrTile Homeowners have to act as general contractors simply put and take the responsibility necessary for oversight management & ultimate results.

I cannot say enough good things about Robinsons Floors. I had 5 rooms where I wanted to replace 18…read moreyear old builder carpet with LVP. I did my research, visited flooring companies and even got a quote from one, however I was very uncomfortable with the lack of customer service so decided to keep looking. I'm so glad I listened to my inner voice! My initial call went to voicemail and I was pleasantly surprised when William called me back a short time later. We talked about what I was looking for and he took the time to ask questions, answer questions - I never felt rushed. I decided to visit the store the following Saturday. Another surprise - at the other stores, the salesperson didn't really explain the flooring - just told me to pick out what I wanted. William took the time (even though I thought I knew what I wanted) to review the different types of flooring and pros/cons of each. Again, I never felt rushed. I was there at least an hour and was NEVER pressured to 'select one and let's get the measure scheduled'. I told him I was looking around and he was fine with that - reach out if I had any questions. I am one of those 'multiple visit, hard time making up my mind' clients but he was fine with that. I eventually selected the same flooring as with the first store and scheduled the measure. Since I had vacillated between 3 different colors, he brought all of them to the measure so I could look at them in my house against my furniture. I made a final selection and the next day, had the quote. Wow. $2000 less than the other store, which had seriously over measured some rooms! I paid the deposit and scheduled the work. The workers arrived on Monday at 9:30, introduced themselves and went over the rooms and process with me. I work from home so, while busy, I'm still able to keep tabs on what is going on. I had carpet installed 3 times over the past year and the difference between those contractors and rhem was like night and day. They were communicative, professional and displayed a true caring of the work they did. I felt like they took as much care as they would have if doing it in their own house. They moved my furniture - even heavy pieces, hung plastic sheets to reduce the amount of dust and cleaned up every day before they left. They made sure everything was right before moving on 'to the next step'. I always knew what they were doing and what was coming next. I had calls scheduled and they worked their tasks around them to reduce the background noise. They finished on Thursday afternoon and even vacuumed the stairs and upstairs open area just to catch any dust that may have settled there. I knew they would clean the areas they worked in but they went the extra mile. The next day, William came by to do a walkthrough with me, making sure I was fully satisfied. About two weeks later he called just to check in, be sure everything was still good. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new floors. I had saved a long time for them (yes, they offer financing but I wanted to pay cash) and when you save 10k and then use it for something, you really want that something to be perfect. Especially when it's something you see every day. Working with Robinsons Floors was, well, we'd have to come up with a whole new word to describe how great an experience it was. No sales pressure, happy to inform, great product, workers who clearly take pride in their work - what more can we ask?? I will be having additional LVP installed and would not call anybody else. I can HIGHLY recommend them to my best and closest friends. They wouldn't be disappointed.
