A unique location, but very inviting and homey!…read more I came here years ago when I lived here, and since I'm visiting the area, I decided to drop by! I ordered their seasonal drink, the purple oasis, and was surprised by how well the flavors worked together! I also ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel sammie, which was decent, but filling :) before leaving, I picked up some beans and a sticker to take home. I highly recommend for your next study session or catch-up with friends!

Sitting along busy Central Avenue, it's actually pretty easy to pass right by if you aren't looking for it. From the outside, it looks like what it is -- an old Augusta bungalow that found a second life as a neighborhood coffeehouse. Walk inside, though, and something happens. Everything slows down. The rooms are small. The furniture doesn't necessarily match. The chairs look like thousands of people have already found their favorite position in them. There's a porch, little tables tucked into different spaces, and none of it feels staged or designed to manufacture some trendy "coffeehouse aesthetic." In fact, I noticed something while sitting here: I don't see electrical outlets conveniently positioned at every table. I don't see a sea of laptops. Instead, I hear locals talking about doctor appointments, seeing the grandkids this weekend, and how ridiculously hot Augusta has been. People are simply here. I came in expecting to grab a coffee and leave. I have places to go and things to do today. But I sat down. Then I started looking around. Then I realized I didn't really want to leave. At some point they had probably been calling my drink for several minutes and I hadn't even noticed. And then I ordered a second coffee. That might be the best review I can give Buona Caffe. The coffee itself is absolutely on point. The staff knows what they're serving, makes thoughtful recommendations and genuinely seems to care about getting it right. But what makes this place special is everything surrounding the cup. It almost feels like they don't completely realize what they have here -- or maybe they do and simply have no desire to make it anything more than what it already is. As this part of Augusta continues to grow, with new homes and businesses coming into the area, I hope places like Buona Caffe remain exactly as they are. Sometimes you need a place between where you've been and wherever you have to go next. Somewhere neutral where you can sit down, let a little time pass, decompress and breathe before heading back out onto Central Avenue. Buona Caffe is that place.

The coffee beans are roasted on site and the special blends are concocted and bagged for those that want to use them or give as gifts. The desserts are homemade. They taste like something your grandmother would make! The desserts often vary but typically you can always count on an amazing poundcake, coffee cake or coconut cake. There are usually 8-10 cakes, muffins and such to choose. The customer service is what will keep me returning. I am just amazed at how everyone was treated. Please go by there. I didn't even finish it because it didn't taste good. The coffee shop vibe is cool since they have a lot of art and cool stuff on the walls like a collectible toy car case. Maybe to sit here and work would be nice. Possibly ordering something different than the Grasshopper (which is one of their signature drinks, let that be known) next time might work but I'm not planning on coming back to this coffee shop. This place was recommended to me as well but there are plenty of other coffee shops that I will be visiting in Augusta.

I had the Tim Curry Latte, fig & pistachio pastry, chicken &grits soup and salad - scrumptious!! The best part is the friendly staff. Yelp nudged us toward New Moon Cafe, and while the signage from the street is minimal enough that we almost walked past it, we eventually found our way inside and were glad we did. At 12:30 on a Saturday the timing worked in our favor. We stepped right up to the counter with no queue at all, placed our order, and settled in. By the time our food arrived about fifteen minutes later, the line had grown to the point where people were waiting nearly that long just to order, which gave the whole place that lively, slightly chaotic weekend energy without ever feeling rushed. Mrs. K chose the smoked salmon bagel, which came out panini pressed, a small twist on a classic that she enjoyed. I am still keeping things keto, so the chef's salad with blue cheese was exactly what I needed, a generous portion that felt balanced and satisfying without pushing me off track. They offer plenty of coffee drinks and smoothie combinations, but we kept things simple and were perfectly happy with our choices. There is outdoor seating if that is your preference, and the whole experience had that relaxed, local charm that makes Augusta lunches feel unhurried even when the dining room is filling up around you. The drink did take a longer time for it to come out, but their service is amazing! So I didn't mind the wait. The total came out to be $12.50, which isn't too bad. They had a line upon my arrival, but everyone was professional and timely. They have a little bit of everything, it was overload for me, how can I choose just a few things, Lol! Not only was the food good and fresh, but the presentation was everything for me. Tip: go early for first dibs. If you have time, sit and people watch... I will definitely be returning in the near future.
