When the team from Greensboro, Brittany and Alex, finally showed up for the job on Sunday, 2.5 hours late, after our Saturday noon appointment was cancelled due to them being over two hours behind schedule at another job, they worked hard and I was pleased with the duct and fireplace cleaning. I tipped them both for taking their Sunday to do the job, although my Sunday was also compromised. On both days, I initiated a phone call to inquire about the status of our appointment as time was slipping by and the courtesy of a phone call was not extended to me. The next day I made an appointment for duct cleaning at my daughter's house the following Thursday at 9:30 and they DID NOT SHOW UP. No phone call. Just a no show. I called the owner, Marshall, in Arden and he hurriedly mentioned possible car trouble saying he would reach out to Greensboro team and get right back to me. NO CALL BACK. I recently had my air ducts cleaned by Carolina Ductmasters, and I couldn't be happier with the service. Technicians Alex and Brittany did a fantastic job. They were professional, knowledgeable, hardworking, and had great attitudes from start to finish. You can tell they take pride in honest, quality work. This was hands down the best $575 I've spent on work done in my home in a long time. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Arrived late. Did the bare minimum to sweep the chimney and nothing els. Not worth $285.

Full home duct cleaning to include bathroom exhaust fans, dryer vent, and all the vents for a 2000sf home. My technicians were Austin and Pete. They were very polite and thoughtful as they went room to room and vacuumed and brushed every vent to at least 10 feet. They left no mess. I can be assured that my dryer vent is clean so no worries about fire hazard! Very comforting after living here 23 years. Thanks Austin and Pete. read more

Lesson Learned. If I owned a business cleaning ducts, I would NOT be worried about competition from these guys. First of all, when I first made the appt, the girl I spoke with had NO IDEA where I lived in Hendersonville. There is NO WAY a company like this has NO IDEA where Cummings Cove Golf Community is in Hendersonville NC. It has only been there for 35+ years! She then went on to say that CDM does not go out of state. I explained/let her know that we were about 30 minutes away. She could not get the address correct even after I gave it to her 3-4 times. The phone number took about the same amount of misses. These were my first trepidations in making the 8:30 am appt. I should have known better, but I was in a hurry and, well, I will call this my fault as well. When the day and appt time of 8:30 turned into 9 am I called Carolina DuctMasters. Spoke with someone that sounded just as confused. Told me he could not verify my appt because his computer was down. I suspect this guy had NO IDEA how to use a computer. His excuse was; "The roads were closed". I asked, "Every road?" It was April. It was 70 degrees outside so I knew we didn't have a snow problem. When I mentioned that I had been a bit worried when the girl who answered their phone and set up my appt had no idea where I lived, his response was: "Well, these girls live here in Asheville, so they don't know where you live." I asked, "Has Carolina DuctMasters ever worked/done work in Cummings Cove before?" His response: "Oh yeah, we've been there, but the girls, they don't know where you live." He then told me he would contact the tech and call me right back. 15/20 minutes later, I called him back and his excuse was this time; "Oh, yeah, I just spoke with the tech. (funny how that happens) They are just finishing up with their last appt. They will be heading over to you by 10 am or a little bit later." When I mentioned the 8:30 appt SET TIME that the confused girl had promised they would be there by, he said, "Oh, that's just an estimate." By this time I was not sure these guys were a fly-by-night outfit so I told this guy to forget it, and that I would call someone else. His response was EXACTLY what one would expect. No apologies whatsoever. No trying to win back my business. His response? "Okay, fine. Great." Needless to say, I called Ductz of Asheville & Hendersonville and spoke with Wade who sounded very intelligent. Wade even knew where I lived! Wade promised he would be at my home that day by a certain time. Voila'. Wade was as good as his word. Ductz of Asheville and Hendersonville is who I Should have called first, but will call for ALL my future ductwork needs. Anyone that tries those clowns over at Carolina Ductwork is going to get exactly the same treatment I received. While Carolina DuctMasters might be very unprofessional, and have no idea where Hendersonville is, their only redeeming quality is the fact that you might get a chuckle (The reason I gave them at least one star) at how they hopscotch around and over their very uncreative excuses. read more

I used Carolina Ductmasters 3 years ago and had a good experience. This time, however, was much different. The two guys were at my house for 50 minutes total. That is from the time they stepped out of the van until they were pulling out of the driveway. I have the Ring doorbell videos to corroborate. My house is 3100 SF. When I got home from work, I checked just (4) of the ducts and one of the ones that I checked is shown in the attached photo after it was supposedly cleaned. At this point, I stopped looking so that I could have them come back and fix the issue. I called to let them know that some of the ducts were not cleaned properly and the lady who answered was very nice and apologetic and scheduled them to come back. They did not clean any of the diffusers. My wife took them all off and cleaned them herself. When they came back, they were literally at my house for 7 minutes total. Again, 3100 SF and all he did was stick his arm down in the one duct that my wife showed him as far as he could reach and wiped it out. Nothing more. They didn't even bother vacuuming it out again. I took the cover off of the unit and there was mold all over inside, but they had said it was clean, so I just cleaned it myself. I really feel like they did a good job 3 years ago and I even recommended them to someone else. I do not recommend these guys at all anymore. I think they were behind on their schedule and tried to catch up on my house. When they came back out, they seemed mad that I had called them back, so they didn't bother checking behind all of the vents, only the one that was still literally black right inside the top portion of the duct. Carolina Ductmasters - After first "Cleaning" - Air Duct Cleaning Near Me - Arden, North Carolina

Our clothes dryer is located in the middle of the footprint of our house, necessitating a pretty long run for the air duct to reach the outside wall. We hadn't had it cleaned out in a couple of years- due to Covid last year - so there was a lot of lint - in spite of my fastidiously cleaning out the lint filter each and every time I use it. The guys came ( they introduced themselves, but I have forgotten their names) exactly on time, and cleaned it out both from the back of the dryer, and then outside from the exterior wall. A ton of lint came out, which they promptly vacuumed up. The 2 guys who came were professional, polite, and didn't seem to mind my watching what they were doing. One of them, had, I believe, been to our house the last time I called them 2 or so years ago. I had been debating getting a dryer vent suction hose and trying to clean it out myself, but their equipment and expertise doing the job seemed much better than anything I could do. It costs $150, but, I feel, highly worth it for the peace of mind knowing we won't be having a dryer fire caused by trapped lint any time soon. I hired Carolina Ductmasters to clean and inspect my chimney. The technician, Chris, was over 2 hours early and was only at my house for less than 20 minutes. He told us he was on the roof when I saw him in his truck. He never even went onto my roof. We called to try to get this resolved and spoke to a manager, Mark. He had Chris call us and say that he'd cleaned it. So my husband climbed on the roof and took pictures to show it was not cleaned and called Mark again. Mark wasn't interested in our pictures but said that they would send someone else to our house to clean it and they never did. It looks like I will have to hire another company so that I can have this done, even though I paid $225 for a service I don't feel like we received. I would not recommend Carolina Ductmasters if you actually want the job done. read more

When I called I was told the technician was at a funeral and the manager Marshall would call me back in an hour. He never called. At this point I'll get another company to do it. Sorry I bothered. My chimney was working great and suddenly stopped drawing. After a few frustrating days of a smoke filled house, I found these folks to come clean and address the problem. They cleaned out the chimney and my wallet, but the problem remains exactly the same. A shrug of the shoulders and oh well. Couldn't care less. I have three more chimneys and was hoping I'd found a reputable company to service them. During payment, the girl on the phone was quite pleasant, in spite of my dissatisfaction (perhaps she missed it, because I was polite). Perhaps she got it in the end when she said we appreciate your business, and my response was: it won't happen again. Dryer and airduct cleaning: Scheduling issue. They called the day of the appointment and changed appointment time which was very inconvenient, They said there would be 2 people and sent in one inexperienced person. It as suppose to take 2 hours and only took one hour as I do not beleive I received all the services they committed to such as deordorization, etc. Worker tracked water throughout the house each and every time he went in & out. Told them vent was about 2 stories up and said no problem. Came out did inside and when time came to do inside said was too high. This is your job do it. Anyway called manger who is a complete ass. said some one would finish the job but as you guess never did. Called the manger aghain and wouldnt return my call untill I said was filing a complaint with BBB. He refused to call me by my first name and said he wasnt going to finish the job. I highly recommend this business. The team is dedicated and hard-working. Robert and Chris had cleaned out my dryer vent with the first visit. That went remarkably smooth and well. Chris and Drew came out for a whole-house duct cleaning. They were conscientious, thorough and knowledgeable. I even had a chance to look at the 'before' and 'after' for the return. Chris and Michael were here for a follow-up visit and given the consistently positive experiences across three service appointments, I knew that Carolina Ductmasters had earned more than a 5-star review from me. We called to have this company clean out duct work after we had low level lead paint contamination from resurfacing the inside of a 100 year old claw foot tub. We explicitly asked that they take every precaution and even asked that they seal off all the return vents. They said they don't deal the vents because they suck (not blow) the dust, dirt, etc out of the ducts. They assured us they had done this before. Less than half way through the process, a huge puff of smoke filled out entire house. They had blown the lead paint into every room. We are now dealing with a very large level contamination, instead of a small one. We will have to have an air quality test done, and a remediation plan written. This alone is $500, and then we still have to pay for cleaning our entire house - which will include moving everything into PODS while the house is cleaned, then cleaning each piece as it comes back in the house. Clothes, dishes, linens, EVERYTHING! And we have to move out until they are done. Marshall Adams, the manager, said he doesn't see how his crew has any responsibility in this issue. He suggested I "talk to my attorney" if I feel differently. He does not plan to financially take any responsibility. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! read more
