I brought it back in, and at that point I was given a long list of additional items that needed to be replaced. I ended up paying $2,020.46 for the engine oil pan gasket, passenger-side valve cover gasket, and driver-side valve cover. Even after all that work, the car still leaked, and I was then told I also needed to replace the rear main seal ($941.52) and cam plug seal ($396.27). On top of that, there was an oil stain left on my seat. I had to bring the car back again to have it shampooed, and afterward my vehicle had an "old gym sock" smell that lingered. Unfortunately not a great experience. I would NOT recommend this place.

I was billed for work involving my vehicle, including charges to my warranty, and **work was performed that I did not authorize**\. It took **five separate visits** before the underlying issue was addressed\. On my **fourth visit**, I was specifically assured that my vehicle was **safe to drive**\. I trusted that professional assessment and continued driving the vehicle, including having my children with me\. On my **fifth visit, less than 24 hours later**, I was told that the vehicle was **not safe to drive**\. Thank God nothing happened while my children were in that vehicle\. That change in assessment is extremely concerning\. If the vehicle was not safe to drive, why was I assured less than 24 hours earlier that it was safe? I was also told by the dealership's new car sales manager that, **"Sometimes we have to throw parts at it until we figure out what's wrong with it\."** That statement, particularly in light of the number of visits and the work performed on my vehicle, did not give me confidence that the problem was being properly diagnosed or repaired\. When I questioned why it had taken five visits to resolve the issue, I was met with raised voices rather than a professional explanation\. I also questioned the additional work and requested that the dealership take responsibility for having the resulting issues properly inspected and repaired\. That request was refused\. I am now having to seek an **independent inspection and investigation to determine the full extent of the damage and what repairs may be necessary**\. Customers should be able to trust that work performed on their vehicles has been clearly explained, properly authorized, and completed correctly\. They should also be able to question charges, repairs, and safety concerns without being spoken to disrespectfully\. I strongly recommend that anyone using this service department **document every interaction, verify exactly what work has been authorized, and carefully review all charges and warranty claims**\. This was not simply a disagreement over a repair\. It was a serious breakdown in communication, authorization, diagnosis, customer service, and accountability\. If I could give Budget Radiator and Automotive 10 stars, I absolutely would!…read more We were in Springfield from St. Charles for my daughter's MCDA Honors Choir workshops and concert when our 2015 Honda Odyssey suddenly started flashing warning lights on the highway--FCW, LDW, a flashing Drive indicator, and the check engine light. We were only about 7 miles out from our hotel, but we were worried we might be looking at a transmission replacement as it seemed like the transmission went "limp" and wouldn't change gears while driving! The team at Budget Radiator and Automotive got us in quickly, took the time to thoroughly diagnose the problem, and didn't jump to conclusions or try to sell us unnecessary repairs. They found that the alternator had failed, but they didn't stop there. During the repair they discovered the serpentine belt and tensioner were also failing because the belt kept slipping off. They explained everything clearly, showed us what was happening, and made sure the repair was done correctly. After replacing the alternator, serpentine belt, and tensioner, they checked the transmission fluid at my request, (which looked great), then test drove the van for about 20 miles to make sure everything was working properly before calling us. That's the kind of attention to detail and professionalism every customer hopes for. The van now runs beautifully, all of the warning lights are gone, and we have complete confidence driving it home. When you're traveling and your vehicle breaks down hundreds of miles from home, you're putting a lot of trust in a repair shop you've never met.
