My husband and I visited your Carmax Parker facility over in order to accept the written purchase offer we had received for an old Chrysler Sebring convertible we owned.  With the current overheated market, we weren't surprised by how many people were in line to sell their cars to your dealerships. We were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent attention and service we received Friday evening from Office Associate Yousuf Hassan.  He took extra time to help; This extra care did not go unnoticed, although the place was busy ( we waited for more than an hour he keep us in the loop about the process and why it was taking some time) Car Max team has for sure taken time to train an excellent staff with truly above-per customer service. We also wanted to commend another staff member Cole Patenotte, as we accidentally left a garage clicker inside the vehicle (not very bright on our part!)  The Next day on Saturday, we both returned to try and get it back before the vehicle was transported off-site. Much to our relief, we were lucky enough to find Cole, Associate on-duty.  He did not rest for at least at hour in a heroic effort to track down the now-plateless Sebring that was located "somewhere" in Wholesale limbo.  Cole was extremely helpful and kind although place was really busy. ***BUYER BEWARE*** Do not buy from Carmax. We purchased our SXT Challenger from Carmax in Parker, CO as our start-up vehicle with the extended warranty, Gap insurance. Within 10 months we had equity in the vehicle and decided to upgrade to Scat Pack 392 Challenger but at another dealership. We emailed Carmax and spoke with Jenna Leuzinger at 262448@carmax.com and filled out all the necessary cancellation forms. In turn, Jenna Leuzinger stated and I quote "I've attached the paperwork for your MaxCare cancellation. $1,470 will be processed through CarMax Auto Finance and you will receive a check in the mail from them in about 30 days." We never got that check, Carmax took it upon themselves to apply the refund to the account to lessen the amount of the payoff quote. Our account had never been behind or missed a payment. We certainly didn't give them permission to apply the refund to our payoff balance. The acquiring dealership was paying the full payoff amount at the time of purchase and we were certainly ok with the numbers we ran with the acquiring dealership. Carmax did some shady dealings so they didn't have to come out of pocket. Unless you plan on keeping your vehicle, don't upgrade your vehicle at another dealership until the warranty has expired or you've reached your mileage point. YOU WILL NOT GET ANY TYPE OF REFUND BACK FROM YOUR EXTENDED WARRANTY, GAP COVERAGE. I went through the steps online to sell my mom's car and made an appointment. I called this Parker location, and was told my comprehensive Power of Attorney which includes all financial and legal transactions would be accepted. I was able to sell her home with the POA document I possess, but not her car, after asking specifically if I could and was told "yes". Got to the Parker location to be told that in the state of CO I actually have to use my POA to transfer the title from her to me at the DMV before coming to CarMax. Selling house just fine. Car not fine. And if that's Colorado law, okay, but the completely uninformed person answering the phone for the Parker office, should be aware of that law and be able to communicate that information correctly. In the several weeks it has taken me to do the title transfer with the DMV, the car is now worth $1,000 less, with no discernible increase in mileage, all because of their error. I'm sure they must have greater inventory now, which would affect things, but if I had gotten an accurate answer the first time my pension annuitant dependent mother would have an extra $1,000. read more

My experience started out great. Multiple text messages to verify my appointment, then confirming. Customer Service when I arrived, even a test drive. But when Karen found out that I was flipped upside down on my vehicle, even though I was clear that I still wanted to purchase, she then ignored my texts, never responded again and she ghosted me. Bought a car 2 months ago I love it. But there is starting of mechanical issues. I bought extended warranty and well within 90 day warranty. I called to book a service appointment only to be hung up on 2 times, I called back and was disconnected another 2 times... called back at this point to speak with the manager... manager assured me I would receive a call which never happened. My husband and I already had our own financing set up but it turns out that carmax offered us a way better rate hen what we already had! I also had to give a shout out to the manager-Chessy - for taking amazing care of us as well. We just had a feature listed on our vehicle that wasn't there so she took care of it for us and worked with us so we were able to still receive it. Made an appointment to test drive a low mileage top of the line (and top dollar) 2021 truck on Saturday. The first impression when approaching the passenger side was what looked to be yellow paint door dings, or something similar, on the front edge of the rear door, and when approaching the driver's side door there was a 3 to 4" white scratch in the black paint right in the middle of the door. There was no evidence of even minor cosmetic reconditioning, nothing beyond a wash and tire shine, and certainly nothing that should be expected on a $64K vehicle. The second impression was the salesperson rushing me that I had 20 minutes to test drive the truck, they would start the timer, and the manager would start texting me if I went over that time. I offered that 20 minutes was not enough time to evaluate a very expensive advanced technology used vehicle, and the salesperson responded that's why they offered a 30 day return period. I asked where I could test the truck at highway speed, and the salesperson stated that I wouldn't have enough time to test it on the highway. So much for the 24 hour test drive. The next impression was what looked to be key lock boxes, one on the rear seat and another in the console, sliding and banging around when cornering, and then again when coming to a stop at the bottom of a hill. I first thought that something very large and heavy was loose in the bed of the truck, it was that loud. I estimate the lock boxes are about 5 pounds each. Despite having an appointment 2 days in advance, the truck had not been prepped for a test drive. Carmax would have sold a truck, and acquired a high demand SUV on trade, had they simply delivered what they advertise. read more

First purchase was a newer BMW. Wasnt able to drive it much, the check engine light came on the night I drove it off the lot. Took 2 weeks to have it remedied through BMW along with a ambient LED strip. Decided to trade within the 30 day period to a beautiful SQ5. Found out today it has a large rear engine oil leak from Audi-had to also take this in for recall work. Dealership disclosed the leak and also sent me video. This was a pretty substantial leak the belly pan was really dirty and showed significant buildup. How this escaped the CARMAX inspection is beyond me. Ive gone through maybe 1 tank of gas in this vehicle. Called CARMAX and have to bring it in. If this is going to take more than 1 week I will swap out this one also. I refuse to have a darn near 40k vehicle with barely 40k i cannot drive. This makes 2 vehicles in a row with these recalls/issues so far. Will update this review when we get throught this. read more

I have done three transactions with CarMax, one of which was at CarMax Parker and I'm highly disappointed in this location. The salesperson I dealt with first was obnoxious. He was condescending and did not listen. When I switched to a different sales person I was very pleased, she was great and got me into the vehicle I wanted. That's where the good news stopped. The car had issued out of the gate and was back in the shop twice in the first 90 days. They did take care of it per their CarMax guarantee which I do appreciate but it was frustrating because both times the issue could have been avoided altogether if they had done a proper inspection before they even sold me the vehicle. They also did a terrible job cleaning the interior of the car. My next experience with them was this last week. We were interested in buying another vehicle so we made an appointment to see it on an upcoming weekday at 5 p.m. We arrived at 4:55 and called the office to let them know we were there (social distancing protocol.) It took 15 minutes before someone came out. He said that the car we wanted to see was just being "cleaned" for us and he'd have it out to us soon so we could take it for a test drive. We waited another almost 15 minutes before he came back and told us that the car we wanted to see had rust and therefore couldn't be sold to us and we couldn't even test drive it to see if we liked how it handled to see if we would want that type of vehicle in the first place. Here's my issue with this, they had over 48 hours notice that we were coming to see this vehicle. Why did I have to waste half an hour at the dealership only to be told that I couldn't drive the vehicle that I had an appointment to drive? This is consistent with my impression from my first experience that they do not do a good job at preparing their vehicles and the quality standards are not what I expect from them as a company. After the appointment, I got a survey that I filled out in detail and checked the box that said I wanted someone to contact me regarding my experience mainly because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt one more time that they might try to make it right. That was over a week ago and I have not heard from anyone. It is very unfortunate but we won't be buying cars from them anymore unless there is a serious shakeup in management. The Highlands Ranch location was wonderful for both my dealings with them so I would hope that it is just this location not the company that's standards have gone downhill. read more

Just purchased my third car from CarMax and sold my 2nd. I go back because of convenience, selection, and their ability to get me anything I want, whether it's across town or in Florida (of course, some things come with a cost but it's worth it to me!) This round I bought a 2012 Ford Raptor and traded in a 2011 Ford Mustang. As stated in other reviews, no haggle pricing on either and I felt their proposed purchase price for my Mustang was more than fair (and yes it was a car I bought from CarMax). Test drove the Raptor, in and out with the new truck in about an hour and a half, don't know of any big name dealership that can promise or consistently deliver that. Why did I go back? Well, I didn't to begin with. I actually went to Groove Ford and had a terrible experience, poor service, bad finance department, and the salesman sucked! So, I decided to hold off on getting a truck...until the Raptor popped up! I thought, why not? I've had a good experience the two previous times and sure enough the third time was just as good. Why not four stars? The salesperson, while nice and very customer friendly, had zero knowledge about the truck. In addition, the truck was in less than presentable condition upon my arrival. CarMax usually has cars in pristine condition (in their defense, it was snowing that day). They did clean it up but still not to the level I expect from CarMax. Great experience, huge fan and promoter of this company...will be back for my next one in a couple years. read more

I have a 2016 ford focus (dry dual clutch transmission) and they quoted me for a "shutter" in my transmission and dropped my price $1,500! I bought my 2015 jeep compass at this Carmax that had 20,000 miles on it. I knew I was taking a little bit of a gamble by not buying the warranty, but my godfather worked there at the time and bragged about the company and had heard fairly good things as well. Well, now I'm shooting myself in the foot and I wish I would have never bought this car from Carmax. Within a few weeks of buying the car, I got a flat tire, and I have changed a few flat tires in my life, but I could not get this tire off of my car for the life of me. I called my handy boyfriend and he couldn't get the tire off of the car either. We were kicking it and everything. I then called my father who told me there was no way this tire was unable to come off of my car... he even asked me if I had remove the bolts which I obviously did. So I spent $50 on a tow truck to tow my car .5 mile for them to tell me there was so much corrosion on the tire they needed a special tool to get it off. A couple months later, my brakes got so bad that the slightest touch of the gas pedal would cause the metal to metal to screech super loudly. It was honestly more embarrassing. I couldn't believe the brakes were that bad after only having the car for 6 months. 4 months later, I had to buy 3 new wiper blades for both the windshield and rear window. Now I'm working on getting my rear brakes-pads and rotors replaced along with new front inner tire rods. Needless to say, I've had to put in $1,400 within the last year on my 50 point inspected car from this dealership. What a shame. I will never buy a car from here ever again nor will I ever recommend a friend or family member buy a car from here. Extremely disappointed read more

We had a great experience buying a car from CarMax. Very smooth and fast transaction. Every person we talked with from sales, to filling out paperwork to the service Dept, was professional and upbeat. We brought car back in for a scheduled service to have heated leather seats installed and this process was smooth too. We received a loaner and the service dept employee, called me once a day, giving me status reports. While car was there we asked for them to check one tire and the brakes. They did this as well. Every interaction with CarMax has been efficient and pleasant. We recommend this company to everyone. We had to get used to the NO HAGGLE culture, but the prices are reasonable, so we were fine. So I shopped around and decided to take it to other dealers and every single one of them offered me 5% -9% more for my car. First of all, buying a car from them was great. The salesman was helpful and the ability to ship from almost any location means a huge inventory that can't be matched. The service center is a different story though. One of my wheels had gloss black cover up paint instead of the satin black it was supposed to be. They said they'd touch it up under warranty so I was pretty grateful for that. Instead of matching the factory paint, they painted them all matte black, which I would have been okay with if they did a good job. They also said they sanded them before painting them, which was a lie. They didn't even take the wheels off, much less sand them. The paint they applied is already coming off and it's only been on for two weeks. They didn't even take the lug nuts off. It's also not applied evenly and has cracks throughout a lot of it. I emailed them to see if they'd make it right and I received no response. If I would've known how bad of a job they were going to do I would've just left it as is. read more

Whoa!! I am so impressed! Yesterday I had the best car shopping experience of all time. I called Justin 2 days before and explained what I was interested in on my way home from work. He found a vehicle, had me pre qualified, and was having the car shipped to the Parker location within my 30 minute commute. I went yesterday to test drive it- loved it, then about an hour later had made payment and signed loan docs and was driving my new car to celebrate!!!! Does it get any better than that? I purchased my car from the Parker location and the sales part was fairly easy, but the service department is a complete joke all the way around. Following the advice of our salesman we took the car to be inspected by the Honda dealership where they found several major issues wrong with the car. We let Carmax know about the issues and they said we had no right taking it to someone else, the car should have been brought to them. After several conversations they realized we did exactly what the sales team had said to do. The service team at Carmax said to bring it back in and they might fix the issues if they truly felt something was wrong. Once we took it in they only fixed one out of the three items all while being condescending and calling us liars the whole time. They said they could order parts for the second item and I could come back in a week and a half to have that fixed but they refused to fix the third item. When I went to pick it up I realized a half a tank of gas was missing from the car. When asked why a my car was now empty instead of having a half of tank of gas they said they had no idea and I must have been mistaken. After a 20 minute conversation where again I was called a liar multiple times by 3 of their service team, one of them finally admitted to the car having arrived with a half tank. No apologies and no effort to make anything right. My advice, if you want to purchase from Carmax, don't do it from the Parker location. read more

Horrible experience at this location. Our original trade in appraisal was $9,000 & then when we were going to close the deal they dropped it to $7,500. They said it was because the technician found something with the transmission. After leaving, we independently had the car looked at by a transmission specialist and he said nothing was wrong with it at all. Also, when we were going to close the deal, CarMax went from our original estimate APR of 3.95% up to 7.95%. Last minute squeezes tactics on both accounts. Overall, a completely unethical experience and a shame that CarMax hires people that earn the stereo type reputation of sleeve ball car industry people. read more

Cancel any appointments we have please. I want the email for the GM for Colorado. We bought our car today at the Chevy dealership in Aura CO. 2020 chevy trax with 2.4k miles on it for 23k. They took our car for trade in and we were DONE in 4 hours. Yall wasted my time Saturday and almost sold us a bad car with a bad O2 sensor and because it was 8:50pm after driving an hr to get there we were sent home because it was closing after waiting 4 hrs and nothing. Went there again on Monday the 25th at 10am on MY birthday and again drove 1hr to get there waited for 2 hrs with new non sales people to test drive the black beetle covetable and again i found a nail in the back right rear tire. 5 hrs later once again we walked away with nothing because you would not take our trade in because the tag was expired. I WASTED MY BIRTHDAY THERE WITH NO RESULTS and had to drive back for an hour. FYI chevy took our trade for the same appraisal and didnt care that the tag was expired. Monday night and still my birthday and we called online to find a car. Did all the damn paper work again and she asked us to do the online appraisal even though we said we got it at the store in parker already. Another hr taking pics of the car in the dark and had to wait till morning. Morning came took new pictures in the light and waited. Later on Tuesday got an email saying were sorry you had a appraisal done within 6 days. Please come in. Again wasted time after telling the lady on the phone we had a appraisal from yall. MY BIRTHDAY WAS SHOT. WASTED BASICALLY 3 DAYS WITH YALL FOR NOTHING. the Chevy dealership took great care of us and DID NOT WASTE OUR TIME AND I WAS ABLE TO GET MY WIFE HER CAR FOR OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY ON THE 30TH AND YALL WANTED US TO COME BACK ON THE 30TH TO WASTE OUR TIME AGAIN. I like the concept of car max a lot and think I just had a bad experience. The idea of "no haggle prices" is nice so what you see is what you get. They also will drive the cars from other locations so you can see them at your closest store. The bad part was our salesman. We came in vaguely knowing what we wanted. Before we started looking, we got a lengthy speech about carmax history and how they don't take dealership fees so it's no pressure, like how car buying should be. Our salesman took us to the Carmax website and we filtered out some things I definitely didn't want and we took a look at the ones we were interested in. After we narrowed it down and took a test drive in the car we liked, we got back and I looked at Kelly blue book on my phone and some other private sellers that made me believe the car was a little overpriced. When I told her we had to think about our decision a little, she told me she "would've put the car on hold but now I'm considering other cars she won't." I told her on the carmax website you can reserve a car for 12 hours, no questions asked, and I could do that on my phone as we were speaking. She told me they call the people that hold them, and I said back that most people are looking at other cars when they go on carmax. She then tried to pull up the website again to show me what they had in stock, and again told me how dealerships are going to charge me all these fees for no reason and kept trying to sell us on carmax. At this point she was defensive and I just wanted to leave. Definitely the worst experience I had while car shopping. I just wanted a little time to think over that decision, and she wanted me to sign the papers at that moment. I know she's still a salesperson and she was just doing her job by trying to sell us a car, but it was definitely not "no pressure". My suggestion is to look at the website online, find the one you want to test drive, put the car on a free hold while you compare to other places, and then go in. read more

NEVER BUY A CAR FROM CARMAX! My 20 year old daughter purchased a 2016 Ford Fiesta from Carmax and had problems from the start. Two weeks ago the transmission went out, i tried taking in for repair and was told that it needs to go to the Ford dealership as no one else would touch it. When we took it to the Ford dealer, we were told that Ford no longer supported the transmission and the car was not repairable. I contacted Carmax several times asking for some type of resolution for my daughter and was told that "someone will be calling you back". It has been over a week with no call backs and every time I call iI get the same run around. One of the best car buying experiences we've had! We worked with Steve to pick out a vehicle (I actually set up an appt for a specific vehicle online beforehand), and he was NO PRESSURE and was just there to answer questions and help us find what we wanted. He also had us browse CarMax's ENTIRE online selection, and said they could bring in any car in the country from another CarMax location to Parker for free! What an awesome option! We actually fell in love with the truck they had on their lot, and after doing some due diligence on our part, found that it was really well priced, and we had no need to haggle with their "no haggle" price. Whew! Even though we secured our own financing, we still had to do the big wait for the Finance team - but once we sat down with Kayleigh, everything was easy peasy and we were were in and out with our new truck! They have a 5 day no-questions-asked return policy, a 30 day full warranty on the vehicle, and will even pay for an owner's manual if your vehicle is missing it! Highly recommend! read more

I have no idea why my husband and I continue to try and buy a car from this CarMax. Without getting into too many details we had a bad experience a few years ago when trying to buy and SUV. As we were just about to sign paperwork and get keys THEY SOLD THE CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE. Whatever, we moved on. Last week we went back to try and get another car. We went in one day and it was super busy so we decided to make an appointment for the next day instead. Our appointment was at 3:30 and we waited for over an HOUR to be seen. They said they had tried to call us but they had been calling an old phone number even after we had updated it with them the day before. When we finally were able to get with a salesman, he could not have been less interested in helping us get into a new car. We asked for his help in finding a good midsize car for us and he just pulled up the website and essentially had us scroll through ourselves while we just sat there. I originally started at the Thornton location because I was with family. The lady showed me a Chevy Cruze and I fell in love with it. Well it was suppose to be held for me and transferred from Parker to Thornton. The lady told me what day it would be there, so I went there to test drive it and somehow the transfer fell through and now someone else had the hold on the car. Very frustrated and disappointed, I just went to the Parker location. As soon as I got there the Thornton location called the Parker location and told them that the Cruze was now available and said I could come back and test drive it. I decided to just look at the cars at Parker and found one that had all the accessories that I would have had to add to the Cruze. So I just went with the Chevy sonic. I love it but my experience was very rocky. And the Parker location was great and really helped me through being disappointed and found me the right car. Also when they ran my credit, I asked about all these companies checking into my credit and asked how many hard inquiries I would get on my credit. The lady In Thornton said it would just be 1 hard inquiry.....a couple weeks later, I checked my score and there were 10 hard inquiries. I think the girl In Thornton needs more training and information so she doesn't feed customers lies. This place is so slow and the people working here are rude and take forever to get to the next customer. I came into this location at 4:00pm and didn't get anyone to even look at my car until 6:30pm!!!! As there was literally a full building of workers and there are two people in the building and people are walking in. We were supposedly number 2 when we arrived than an hour pass we went from that to being number 5 on the list??? Get it together. read more

Bought a car in October. Have yet to be able to get my plates and registration 9 months later. Constantly having to get and pay out of pocket for temp tags every month.Talked to multiple staff who say they'll keep me updated to see where the title is but have yet to get any answers. Was told it's in another state, then it's in CO Springs, then it's missing again.. Wait about 30mins+ to even get through on the phones and even then they'll say we'll call you back. Customer service is the worst. One of their salesmen have told me this happens a lot where they'll sell cars without making sure the titles are clear beforehand. Horrible service from every staff I've met- not a single one has kept their word. Buyers beware. read more

Horrible experience, I didn't have my Jeep for 60 day and the motor mount broke, so they sold me a Jeep that would ultimately kill me. The Jeep was broken when I got it and they allowed me to pull off the car lot with it. it was in the shop for two months and they promised an inspection at a certified Jeep dealer but hasn't provided an inspection report on my Jeep. As of right now my Jeep is still making noises and when I called to let them know it was as if they already knew what was wrong with it, so once again they allowed me to drive off the car lot with a defective vehicle. Now I am having to take my Jeep back in to get repaired lol and I haven't had it in my possession for 90 days. Also while my Jeep was in the shop I had a loaner vehicle during that time that was vandalized by a homeless person and of course it's my responsibility to get it fixed, but if they would've never sold me a lemon vehicle I wouldn't be in this mess. So let's just say I am very dissatisfied with CarMax and the crappie vehicle they have sold me. read more

Purchased a vehicle on 12/4. They screwed up the paperwork sent to Douglas County and Douglas County couldn't issue the title so i could get it registered and new license plates. I've stopped by twice and placed 4 phone calls and they still haven't fixed it...it's May 14th...6 months after I purchased the vehicle. When they tell you..."i'll call you back"...don't believe them. read more
