We purchased a late model vehicle there recently. The buying experience was not bad. They are similar to CarMax in that the price is the price. It's a no haggle car buying experience and we tend to like that better. The price we paid was reasonable, not dirt cheap but not high. The vehicle we purchased had extra-low miles and was in very good condition. The 3 stars given here are because of the positive nature of that part of our experience. Everything after the sale has been awful. There was one thing that needed to be repaired and they agreed to repair it as part of the sale but said they couldn't do it that day. Turns out they couldn't do for a month! Curious that their service department is that backed up. It was the hazard lights. The switch was either bad or disconnected and we were leaving the state on a road trip, so waiting a month wasn't an option. They decided to get a local Chevy dealership to do it because the vehicle still has full manufacturers warranty. That still had us waiting weeks and having to do it at a time that didn't really work for us. I picked up the phone and called the Chevy dealership a few blocks away from ClearShift and they were able to take us the next day. So we wound up dealing with that ourselves and are still not clear on why we could find next day service and they couldn't. Now it is 5 days until our dealer plate expires and we have not received anything to take to DMV to register and plate. Called the DMV; they have no record of a title application and told us to go back to the dealership, get a new dealer plate, and get a clear picture of why they haven't done this and when they plan to do it. Have called ClearShift more than once, before and after calling the DMV. Can't get a human in that department and nobody returns my calls. Tried texting; so far no response. I would have loved to give them 5 stars. The GM (or owner?) of the dealership was really nice to us, and very accommodating. We were impressed. The salesperson was nice and we didn't have any issues with her. We love the vehicle we purchased. They had good resources for financing. 5 stars was theirs to lose and they're busy losing it. It feels like now that they cannot make any more money off of us, we aren't important. Seems short-sighted. I still (cautiously) recommend them if the right vehicle is there for you. That's the only reason we went there--they had a hard to find truck we really wanted and it was exactly what we'd been seeking and were struggling to find. We truly love it and are not sorry we bought it. We are really frustrated with the very poor after purchase service. read more

Originally I had left a 5 star review as I was encouraged by the sales associate to leave a review as I finished up purchasing my car. At that point I was pretty happy with the experience. When I was signing papers, I asked if the car had an oil change recently or where things were at for maintenance as I want to obviously keep this vehicle in good shape. I was told they always perform this service before re-selling the cars but that they would be sure to check and call me. I left with my car, and received a call later that in fact an oil change had not been performed and it was overdue. I live 3 hours from the dealership so stopping in for that wasn't a feasible option for me. I was told they would pay up to $100 for me to go get an oil change elsewhere. The oil change cost me $130 so I had to come out of pocket a bit for that, when it should have been handled before purchasing. That's not a huge issue, but probably something to at least ask about. The real problems came dealing with the title department which was absolutely unbelievable. The car was purchased mid-May, and when my temp tags were close to expiring I called for an update. I was told by Cindy in the title department that it had not been sent in, but that she would and that she would overnight via fedex a new temp tag. The temp tag never came, and from that point forward I wasn't able to get ahold of anyone in the title department via phone/voicemails left or email from 6/30/25 to 8/6/25 after many many attempts. I got fed up and just called the sales dept asking for help, and after getting the run around there I finally had Layne reach out to me 8/8/25. She assured me that my title work (STILL NOT SUBMITTED) would be done within the next day and was on the top of the stack. I was instructed to check back in 7-10 business days. On the 11th business day I called only to find out... it STILL had not been sent in. My second temp tag was about to expire and I was told they don't re-issue a third. I was extremely frustrated with entire situation. In the end, they overnighted all of my title work directly to me to take to the dmv so I could FINALLY get my plates. So from Mid May to August 27th, nothing was done with my title work. What a disaster this department is. I would not purchase a car from here again just due to all the headaches and trips to the DMV trying to get it registered. I can see from the reviews I'm not the only one who experienced this. Do better clearshift. I love the car but no one wants such a huge headache when buying a vehicle. read more

We couldn't make a decision quite yet and were able to come back a few days later and buy the truck we wanted. If you want a true "used car salesman experience" go to CLEARSHIFT HIGHLANDS RANCH. My husband and I drove down to Highlands Ranch from Loveland to look at a GMC Sierra 2500. We arrived around 12:30 at the dealership, were greeted by a Steve and filled out the necessary paperwork to test drive trucks. We drove the 2500 and decided it was too big. We then drove a 1500 AT4 and a black 1500 Denali. We loved the Denali and wanted to see a similar truck in white that was listed online. We went inside and waited a bit and were told that the Chief of Operations was currently driving that truck and he would have to bring it there. We said ok and they were going to find out when he could get there. The Loveland location had a similar truck that we were considering, but they convinced us to stay there. Steve and another manager came out and asked us if we were sure that we were going to buy the truck because the COO and his wife had just had a baby. He also wouldn't be there until 4:00, it was 2:30. That was a little awkward because we hadn't seen the truck yet, but said we were pretty positive. They then requested that we fill out the finance paperwork while we wait for him. We still hadn't seen the truck... we did so with the idea that it would expedite the sale since we were waiting until 4:00. We also discussed buying an extended warranty for truck and chose their top tiered plan. They emailed us the finance paperwork and we went to get lunch around 3:15 and also get a cashiers check for the down payment. At 3:50 we got a text from Steve: "When are you going to be back? There is another customer here that wants to buy the truck." The truck that we hadn't even seen yet?? and it wasn't due to arrive until 4:00. I text back and said that our ETA was 4:15 as we were at the bank. We got back to the dealership and the truck still wasn't there. We waited until 4:50 before it arrived. When Steve came to give us the keys, we were told about an additional warranty for paint chips, window chips, and tire damage from curbs. We said no 7 times. They were very aggressive about this $1100.00 add on. We were repeatedly asked, "well, why not?" and "Don't you want the best coverage for your vehicle?" And told "We're looking out for your best interest." and "This pays for itself ten fold!" We finally got to actually drive the truck and of course loved it. When we returned from the test drive, we were accosted again with this aggressive sales pitch about the add on package. We finally said yes to it knowing that we could cancel it later. It was now 6:00 and blizzarding. We mentioned several times that we needed to get back up to Loveland. We then waited for all of the paperwork and finally signed everything. We left feeling less than good about buying our new truck. The whole hoopla at ClearShift Highlands Ranch diminished our car buying experience significantly. It was my husband's first new (to us) car in 10 years and we should have felt excited and sure in our purchase, we did not. We spent $60k total and they were harassing us about a $1k add on? We both left just feeling gross. (Side note: there were three stands in the waiting area with bibles on them and also bibles in the glove compartments of the trucks. I mean, whatever floats your boat, but that also seemed aggressive.) Fast forward 3 days: We stopped at the Loveland location to cancel the additional warranty and had a completely different experience. I wish we had bought a truck from them instead! And guess what? So the warranty did cover the air conditioning repair and I was given a courtesy car because the Service Manager at Jeep in Golden is excellent. He said it was no bother to get that too. Being direct:- I didn't like the lad in his sales role (fine as a person), who sold me the car because he started out say this isn't a pressurized selling environment and it absolutely was, which is something I totally dislike. I know it was during Covid but truly that isn't okay. It is high time the car industry changed its ethics. Car sales people need to be above board and honest. Stop ripping people off; adding unnecessary sales pressure; selling finance to people who absolutely cannot afford a car and it will cripple them and ruin their lives because they can't make the payment and the car is reclaimed. Give them advice on where they can get assistance, what they should be buying and what they can afford. Help people plan for their maintenance and any unexpected breakdown costs. YOU know what cars need warranty plans and which one's are unlikely to need them. Car Sales as up to my last purchase felt like being fried or grilled, turned over and grilled or fried on the other side. Force fed into the car sales feeding tube through the bank to extract your soul and every bit of savings from you is an exceptionally unpleasant experience. All the add on costs in the room of doom ie, the finance officer's office is where you implode prior to that feeding tube. The only difference at ClearShift at that time was they didn't do that last two steps. Everything else was pretty grillable and I went away feeling dehyrated. Clearly better than imploding LoL. Credit where it was due, I only had to do 3 repeats and one or two time waits to get the cracked window glued. I was forced to buy the car in the evening. I just wanted to go home and come back the next morning but Ben wouldn't allow that. So when I did look at the car the next day and saw the cracked window, and had a car that jumped forward on starting and another couple of issues I was pretty unhappy... read more

Horrible customer service skills and treatment at Highlands Ranch. Called and left a message about a 24 2500 ram truck they had. Got a call the next morning from a guy who seemed very angry as he was loud and domineering with voice and direction of the call. I asked him if he could make what was graded as a fair deal on a neutral website into a good or great deal, meaning price and omg, he became unhinged. Screamed into the phone that the pricing was an avg of the area bla bla bla ranting about how it was priced right for at least 2 minutes straight when he could of said yes or no. When he was done I said, we'll there is another one I was looking at for a bit less and again he screamed, " then why don't you go buy that one"! I finally hung up and...Guess what...I did buy the other one. Very poor salesmanship and social skills. Test drove a Ford Expedition today and was going to buy it even though it had an oil leak.  However, the Expedition shook so bad when applying the brakes it was embarrassing.  They pretended they knew nothing about it but offered to reduce the price of the expedition instead of just fixing the problem. My initial experience dealing with ClearShift started out positive. I was impressed by how they market themselves on their website. Painting a picture that they are not like other dealerships and they specialize in out-of-state vehicle sales w/ delivery to the customer's home. While attempting to purchase a vehicle I dealt with 3 different people. The first 2 interactions were fine. Eventually I was passed off to JT and was told he would handle things moving forward. JT was pushy and had the type of attitude you would expect from a car salesman. To add insult to injury, JT was not engaged in any conversation I had with him. Asking questions like "What vehicle were you wanting again?" or "What's your name again?". Making my intentions known yesterday that I would like to purchase a vehicle.I called this morning and spoke with JT to let him know a check would be overnighted today. JT and I set an appointment to do a "walk around" video chat so I could look at my purchase real time. Less than 30 minutes later I receive a text from JT asking me to call. Once on the phone, JT explained that the vehicle I wanted was sold last night. Overall, I definitely do not recommend this dealership. They unfortunately are nothing like their website claims. Not focused on customer service or customer experience in the least bit. What a waste of time. read more

Visited 4 different dealerships looking at SUVs. All 4 dealerships valued my trade. 3 were all around the same value($12k) but ClearShift shift came in $3,000+ LESS than the others at $9k. When confronted they wanted to use every excuse in the book as to why. Even showing me auction sales from Georgia like I wouldn't notice the one from Denver that literally sold for a price similar to what the other three dealers were offering me and with higher miles.I genuinely feel they were trying to steal my trade for the cheapest price they could. Just throwing out a lowball offer to see if I would take it because I was putting down a substantial down payment. They took the fun and excitement out of purchasing a new SUV for my wife. We ended up purchasing somewhere else because regardless of what they could of offered after that interaction our perception of them and their dealership was soured. In our eyes they were the typical used car salesmen experience that we've all come to know and despise. Finance: they will charge you nearly $400 if you bring your own bank, then try to add 1% to loan- yeah, no thanks. Past the car, lots of staff confused on their inventory and where it's placed. Salesman tried twice to sell me a service contract, told him no twice. So the Mgr comes over with the salesman to try to hard sell me on a service contract. ARRRRR! Loved this place. Found ClearShift by chance, browing random cars online in Colorado mid summer. Being a Lexus fan, spotted an UltraSonic Blue IS350C F-Sport they showed--I had never seen such a combo--and HAD to go see it. Zero intention of buying, but it was so easy, so hassle free, and every single piece was done with ONE person--thanks Zach!--all on an iPad. Truly an example I train others on & wish would be more common practice. Minutes in, and a quick discussion, financing was sorted, there's no additional ClearShift fees, and all was signed & done--and they kept the car a few more days for me until I could get back to pick it up. Tried to go look at a car here. We arrived after calling ahead and the car was not even on property yet to be seen. The entire office (sales, back office, etc.) was not wearing masks (this was months ago in Feb 2020). We left and then got a call an hour later saying the car was finally ready to be viewed. This dealership promotes being different and willing to put the customer first and be CLEAR and Transparent. This was the opposite of my experience. I made every effort to complete paperwork with the dealership for a cash purchase of a truck. Due to living outside of Colorado documents had to completed online. I had no reason to believe that my transaction was not in process and they were working to sell the truck to another customer. I flew in from out of state to drive and try to complete purchase documents the day before only to have dealership too busy to complete them before I had to fly out. I spent the whole next day calling and texting thinking that we were completing the necessary documents for the purchase. I then received a call that I thought would be finalizing purchase to be told that the truck was sold to another. Josh and Will had no customer interest in me, bewildering they did not want the commission from my sell, and supposedly another salesman sold it out from under them. Also odd that the Document department did not speak up that they were working on a purchase for another customer. Terrible customer service!! Waste of my time! read more

I would stay away from this place. They do not inspect cars before selling them. Have had multiple issues in the first few months of buying mine. Ed was real nice when trying to sell me a car, but when it came to approaching him after the fact with issues, he did not want to make it right. It is sad that they preached that they are "non commission salesman" and that this is a different experience than other dealerships, but they have lived up to the dreadful "car salesman" Moto. I would first like to state that I am only stating facts here. My situation may be an unusual one for Clearshift. I do not want to give my opinion, but only want to help you make your own decision as to whether you want to work with them after my experience. Saturday, April 23rd we saw a beautiful truck on the Clearshift website, so we drove to Highlands Ranch from Colorado Springs to look at it. We brought our current truck in case we loved it, so that we would be able to either sell it to them or trade it in. We loved the new truck and used our old truck as a trade-in. They gave us a fair price for our trade-in, and we proceeded with the paperwork. We were told at that time that the Clearshift mechanics had previously done an inspection of the vehicle. We were working with James. He tried to sell a warranty to us at a price of $2600, then said that he would take it down to $2000 and eat the $600 that would usually go to Clearshift as profit. We asked if this warranty would start after the manufacturer warranty had expired or immediately. He said immediately. We also asked if it covered exhaust issues, as this is very expensive repair for diesel trucks. He stated that it did not. The truck that we purchased was a 2021 with quite of bit of manufacturer warrant left on it, so we declined. James stated to us several times that this was an AS-IS purchase. We understood, but still declined. We requested that the vehicle be washed as it had a lot of water spots. We figured that as much money as we spent on the vehicle it was a simple request. After the paperwork was completed, we left in our old truck, as we needed to clean it out and we didn't have the keys to remove the hitch. Our plan was to return on Monday with the old truck and pick up the new truck. On Monday, April 25th we returned to Clearshift with our old truck, to pick up the new truck. When we got there, James was not there, and we were told that he was off that day. James at no time told us that he was not going to be there. At that time, we notice that the vehicle was still very dirty with water spots. We told them that we had requested that it be washed. They took it to the side of the building, where we could see them and just spray it with water. Still had water spot and they didn't even put in any effort because the vehicle was already sold...so why would they? Then we were given the key fob (only one). When we asked why there was only one, they said that they only got 1 when they received the truck. I would have thought that they would have told us that when we made the purchase. As a sidenote, I was told by an employee with Phil Long that when a 2021 Ford F350 is manufactured, it comes with 4 key fobs, so I am confused as to why there was only one. The answer that I got is that I purchased a used vehicle, so I get what I get. We accepted this answer. We thought that at that time, someone would be going with us for a walk-thru, or customer orientation, but no, they just gave us our one key fob and we left. Any other time that I have bought a vehicle from a reputable company I would receive some kind of follow-up customer service, i.e., a walkthrough, a follow-up phone call...something. We drove away and that was that. They were done with us. On Tuesday, April 26th, not 24 hours after we left their dealership the check engine light came on. We immediately went to Phil Long Ford in Colorado Springs and dropped off the truck to find out why. On Wednesday, April 27th, we were told by Phil Long that the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is cracked and leaking gases and needed to be replaced - this is part of the exhaust system that would not have been covered by the warranty that they were trying to sell us. We were told by Phil Long that it was a $13000 job, but luckily will be covered under the manufacturer warranty. Today, May 4, we still don't have the truck, as the parts are on backorder due to supply chain issues. Have literally only driven the vehicle 50 miles just to get home from Clearshift. We had to purchase an extra key fob at a cost of $350 which we will be able to pick up when the vehicle is fixed. Don't get me wrong, I believe that we will love the truck when it is fixed, but I am glad that Phil Long Ford is the one fixing it. I do question the capabilities of their mechanics if they DID do an inspection. But if they did do an inspection, they knew that the problem was there and didn't disclose it. That is speculation my part. Moving forward, I probably would not work with Clearshift again. read more

**Bad Experience!** To start just to warn everyone. Clear shift buys a lot of vehicles from Canada. Their vehicles tend to have a lot of rust and they spray paint over it to make it look brand new. I had purchased a truck from clear shift about 4 months ago for $32,000. I decided I wanted something different so I began getting some quotes about a month ago. Half of the places I took the truck wanted absolutely nothing to do with it because it was from Canada and the places that did look at it were offering about $10,000 below TRADE IN VALUE. Clear shift does not disclose that the vehicle is from Canada (which they aren't legally bound to do). They did not have the proper paper work stating that the vehicle was legally converted over to US standards. When I discovered this I politely called to try and get some information to help me understand what was going on. I spoke to Ed on the phone and he at one point was actually yelling at me on the phone telling me that he had 30 years of experience buying and selling Canadian cars and that the vehicle absolutely did NOT need any kind of documentation stating it was properly converted to US standards. (I have the phone call recorded if you so wish to see it please DM and I'll send it over) I asked to talk to the manager (Jesse). He later called me and did admit that the vehicle needed proper documentation and that Ed was incorrect. I then explained my situation to Jesse and offered him to buy the vehicle back at a lower rate than I bought of course. He then also shot me an extremely low offer. If you buy a vehicle from clear shift I would highly suggest 1. Checking if it was from Canada because the resale value is much lower than they will sell it for. 2. Make sure it is rust free. read more

Went ahead and applied and as soon as they saw I had less than perfect credit they ghosted me. Not knowing I had cash to put down and a strong co-signer. Once I sent the sales guy a final message stating "I haven't heard back from you. I don't think we're going to be able to make a deal" I received an immediate phone call which I ignored and a text. I was gonna take a shot with a small dealer like this but quickly was glad I didn't give them my money. My advice, keep looking. read more
