Time to sell my vehicle. This is the 2nd one I have sold to CarMax. Why? They give the best pricing anywhere I found... both times! Easy too. I did it online. BUT I do go in and get an inspection to make sure they honor the online quote. Originally I had gone to the Oak Lawn location for this inspection due to the fact I was closer to it at the time. I also sold a vehicle to this location. It was quick and easy and fast. This time, Hillside was closer to my location that day and a VERY easy shot to the 290 and back home. SOOOOO close. It is literally outside their parking lot. This location is GINORMOUS... as if that was actually a word. It is 2 to 3x the size of the Oak Lawn location, or at least it seems it. They were very busy at the Business Office. A nice man greeted me and told me about most of the process, and that mine might take a bit longer as I had the inspection done in Oak Lawn and not their Hillside location. I did see, after about 30 minutes, someone from Carmax drove my car somewhere, and it went thru a gate. I did not see the car ever again after that. I asked the gal at the front desk of the Business Office. She said it went to a secured lot, and they were getting ready to finalize my deal. After about a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes, my sale was done. Yep, as quoted. I always worry they might rescind and offer and play games, but honestly, since I was honest and did my due diligence to take the car in to be seen, they honored their online pricing. Summer was the nice young woman at the front desk. She actually apologized if she seemed rude earlier, but there was a lot of stress from something else. She was very sweet, and I told her she was not rude. It was clear she was swamped with something. She was actually so sweet that she told me to get home safely. I heard her say it to a few other customers too. Great job, CarMax! A sweet and caring employee really goes a long way. And thank you for making the selling process such an easy one!

I worked with Joyce Love who explained the process to me and made sure I understood what the next steps would be should I decide to sell.

A little over a month ago, I left Elmhurst Toyota a one-star review after a frustrating experience…read more I never expected I'd be coming back to write this review, but I'm genuinely grateful that I am. What happened next completely changed my opinion of the dealership and showed me why Elmhurst Toyota has earned such an outstanding reputation. After calling the dealership twice for an out-the-door price on a 2026 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium, I was told someone would call me back. Unfortunately, that never happened, and I was ready to take my business elsewhere. The very next day, I received a call from Joe, one of the sales managers. From our first conversation, it was clear that Joe genuinely wanted to make things right. He took the time to understand what had happened, looked into the situation himself, acknowledged that the dealership had made a mistake, and sincerely apologized. That level of accountability is rare, and it immediately changed my perspective. The RAV4 I wanted simply wasn't available anywhere. The exact model, color, and options I wanted couldn't be found. Rather than asking me to settle for something else, Joe got to work. He stayed persistent and ultimately made it possible for me to order the exact vehicle I wanted, something I honestly didn't think was possible. Over the next month, Joe called or texted me regularly with updates, so I never once had to wonder where things stood. He kept every promise he made and completely transformed what had started as a disappointing experience into one that exceeded every expectation. When Joe called to tell me my RAV4 had arrived, much sooner than I expected, I couldn't wait to pick it up. Melissa from Sales made delivery day unforgettable. Before I even arrived, she sent me videos of my new RAV4, making the excitement feel real long before I walked through the doors. When I got there, my car was waiting with a bow on it. This was my very first brand-new car, and you only get that experience once. Melissa made sure it was every bit as special as I had imagined. She was warm, genuine, and incredibly kind. Within minutes, I felt like I had known her for years. She never pressured me into purchasing anything beyond what fit my needs or budget, and she made the entire process feel easy and enjoyable. Then I met Andrés, Product Specialist "Genius". As a fifth-grade teacher, I appreciate great teaching, and Andrés was exceptional. He patiently walked me through every feature of my RAV4, answered every question without making me feel rushed, and even continued helping me after I brought my car home. His patience and kindness turned what could have been overwhelming into something I genuinely enjoyed. Finally, there was Jack in Finance. If you've ever dreaded the finance office at a dealership, Jack will change your expectations. He was friendly, honest, and refreshingly low pressure. He took the time to explain everything clearly and helped me choose what was right for me, not what would simply cost more. Looking back, what stands out most isn't that Elmhurst Toyota corrected a mistake. It's how they chose to correct it. Every person I worked with shared the same professionalism, kindness, and genuine desire to help. That tells me this isn't about one exceptional employee. It's about a dealership whose culture is built around taking care of its customers. Before shopping for my RAV4, I spent a lot of time researching Toyota dealerships, and Elmhurst Toyota consistently came highly recommended. After this experience, I can honestly say they have earned every bit of that reputation. I live in Naperville, and Elmhurst Toyota is not the closest dealership to my home. That no longer matters. I'll gladly make the drive for every service appointment, and when it's time for my next Toyota, I already know where I'll be going. Thank you, Joe, Melissa, Andrés, and Jack. You didn't just earn a five-star review. You earned my trust, my future business, and my sincere gratitude. Thank you for making my first brand-new car an experience I'll never forget.

    - One of the Worst Experiences I've Ever Had With an Engine Rebuild…read more I trusted Castle Motors in Brookfield with rebuilding the engine in my 2007 Trailblazer SS. Unfortunately, this turned into one of the most frustrating automotive experiences I've ever had. Before bringing my vehicle to Castle Motors, I did not have any transmission problems. After the engine rebuild, I began experiencing transmission issues that ultimately resulted in me having to replace the entire transmission. That was an expense I never expected to have after paying for a major engine rebuild. The problems didn't stop there. When I inspected the vehicle, I discovered missing motor mount locking nuts, something that should never be overlooked during reassembly. Missing hardware on critical engine components is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the attention to detail that went into the work. I also had exhaust issues after the rebuild. Instead of standing behind the work or repairing the problem, I was told I should take it somewhere else because another shop would be "better and cheaper." Hearing the shop that performed the work recommend another shop to fix their own issues was extremely disappointing. Another major issue was the cooling system. During the rebuild, the cooling system was not upgraded, and only a single electric fan was installed. As a result, my factory radiator eventually blew apart. I ended up having to spend even more money replacing it with a heavy-duty aluminum radiator and a proper dual electric fan setup--an upgrade that should have been discussed and installed from the beginning considering the work being done. I've also dealt with numerous other issues since getting the vehicle back, including oil leaking due to a missing engine oil dipstick, electrical problems that left the vehicle unable to start, and A/C problems that resulted in refrigerant immediately leaking out after the work. Instead of enjoying a freshly rebuilt Trailblazer SS, I've spent months chasing problems, diagnosing issues, replacing parts, and paying for repairs that I believe should never have been necessary. When you spend thousands of dollars on a professional engine rebuild, you expect quality workmanship, proper reassembly, thorough testing, and a shop that stands behind its work. That was not my experience. I cannot recommend Castle Motors based on everything I've gone through. If you're considering having major engine work done here, I encourage you to ask detailed questions, inspect the work carefully, and make sure you're comfortable before moving forward. I sincerely wish I had taken my Trailblazer somewhere else.
