I want to give it 0 stars. Totally disappointed. We do not have an actual Carls Jr in Tampa. So when I see one I want to go. Chose this location because it's close to our hotel. Walked in and a young guy was at the counter. My husband was joking with him about there not being any Dr Pepper. Then he walked away. And never came back. We stood there for about 5 minutes. Stopped in to get dinner with my family and when I tell there was no other customers in there and barely any in the drive thru... there was no one! My family and I stood at the counter just waiting for someone to help us and one employee was just standing there looking at us and the proceeded to walk away and another employee walked up and immediately walked away. This Carls Jr location shares the same parking lot as Walmart so there's plenty of parking. Handicap parking is right in front of the entrance. So I don't really eat at Carls Jr much as I'm more of a Mickey Ds person but I gotta post my review because . . . the Famous Star double beats the Big Mac hands down!! I came here on a whim and just was asking the nice and friendly Carl's Jr worker (Gabriel) what the best burger on the menu was. He suggested I get the Famous Star so I made it a double with onion rings instead of fries. Great customer service by Gabriel, he helped me understand the other things on the menu. This burger was absolutely the reason why I love to eat. Everything was spot on!! Lettuce, onions and tomatoes with whatever sauce they use for it was amazing. Onion rings were hot, fresh and crispy!! I'm gonna be eating more Carls Jr now that I know the Famous Star burger is so good. The pricing is very reasonable for a high quality burger. The ambience here is very relaxed and chill with cool music playing. The air condition is at a perfect level, not freezing and not uncomfortably warm. Went here around 8:20 pm Monday January 19,2026. ONE OF THE WORST IF NOT THE WORSE FOOD I HAVE EVERY RECEIVED FROM ANY FAST FOOD. For the prices to be how they are and the quality of the food to be as awful as it was it beyond insane. I couldn't even take a picture so much disappointment . That I just throw it away waste of my money waste of my time. Ordered a big Carl and bacon Swiss chicken sandwich. Mind you the bacon Swiss was more expensive. The chicken was not even half the size of the bread it was beyond skinny and burned it was basically black on the sides of it. They took long and even parked me all for a chicken sandwich that looks like it's been sitting for hours. The core of the lettuce was given with it a glob of mayo on the sides of the bread. The worker was throwing out trash with a whole large shake in his hand drinking. I bet the workers make sure things for them are top tier. The fact that they made that chicken sandwich and saw nothing wrong with handing that out is not only insane and scary because it shows that they don't care not even one bit with the quality of food they just want to get rid of you already. DONT EVER COME HERE. Inspection should come by and close this Carl's Jr. one of the worst foods I ever seen. And you would think Carl's Jr would care you're better off eating at McDonald's. Just isn't very good. I hate to give a less then favorable review to any establishment. So let's start off on a positive note. Carl's Jr is a clean restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Now for the not so good part. I realize Carl's Jr is a fast food resturant so I don't expect a burger like that from the Harvey's Wineburger or the Chuckbox. However, I do expect the food to be fresh and taste good. Today, on my visit to Carls Jr I had chicken Famous burger and zucunni. The hamburger was not seasoned and tasted as if it had been under a heat lamp for some time and that's why it was so dry and flavorless. One of my very first times coming to this Carls Jr it was very well experience. The parking lot was a pretty big one, with Handicap parking availability if needed. There is a ram from the parking lot helping wheelchairs users get up onto the side walk. There is not an handicap door though. There is a lot of tables inside, with kid high chairs, and handicap tables as well. The menu is very good! I recommend getting the burger and fries here. I got great customer service from Gabriel working that night. read more

I like this Carl's! I've been here a half dozen times over the past year - usually for breakfast - and have been impressed. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that, a couple times, the french toast sticks have been over cooked. That said... The staff is friendly and when there are no customers, they are cleaning! I love this! I'm so tired of dirty food service places. The restaurant isn't the newest or the nicest - and that's okay - but it is one of the cleanest fast food restaurants I've been to in a long time. Like I said, I'm usually there for breakfast and there's either someone hosing down the sidewalk around the place or it's wet from just being done. The tables are clean and, on my last trip, as I walked out, the manager was cleaning the service counter and soda machine and the lady in the back was cleaning around the grill. Love it! Decent customer service does not exist at this location. The manager, Joell, is combative and aggressive and his employees are learning from the pathetic example he is setting, as a manager, and a human being. He will make a spectacle as he treats you badly, as he belittles you, and he will proudly give you his name when you ask, without the common decency of turning his chair around to look at you. This is my second interaction with him, the first was not pleasant, but definitely not as bad as this one. On that day his staff were having a good day, and were nice. The first one was a result of me trying to order through the awful Carl's Jr app that never works with rewards. I was in the restaurant trying to get help with it, and was informed that they don't do anything with the app. I asked if there was someone I could talk to @ corporate, and Joell gave me the direct number. The first time the app wouldn't work, I couldn't place an order at all using my rewards. Today, I successfully placed orders, but they randomly canceled en route to pick them up. When I got there and again asked for assistance to figure out what happened (as these orders were actually placed), Joell was ready...ready to be a complete jerk. In a nutshell he wasn't happy to see me, remembered me from last time, when I apparently had the nerve to make him do his job and assist me, and decided to make a mochary of my problem, reminding me he already told me they can't help. When I asked for the customer service number, so I could call right then and there, he said he gave it to me last time, all the while showcasing his bad treatment of me as a spectacle for his staff to enjoy, as he walked across the counter area to grab me a piece of paper to write it down again. After speaking with customer service, I asked for his name, which he yelled out to me from his chair, back turned, sitting at his manager desk in the office (the door was open). Joell...I was nice to you and patient with the app issues, never blamed them on anyone at the store level. I went through the drive through today and ordered the #14 grilled chicken south west sandwich with lettuce wrap instead of buns and no cheese. It was delicious! I loved the green peppers on it and the chicken was good. I also ordered an ice water which they forgot to give me (and I didn't notice until I had already left). I also waited almost 10 minutes after ordering my food, not sure if the truck in front of me ordered a ton of food or they are just slow. At the drive through window I smelled the sewer smell other reviewers mentioned. Service is on par to good. While they have yet to ever mess up on my order theres times that it takes my order so long I have to pull off and park for them to bring it out 5-10 min later. Outside of that biggest complaint is they're always short on some condiment whether its ranch (honestly the only time they've ever had ranch they had to pour it in a plastic container for me) or even today they were out of salsa. First time at Carl's in over 25 years. Ordered the Jalapeño Burger meal 1/3 pound for $9.95. While I waited I noticed music videos playing. Annoying to me but probably popular with most. My lunch arrived in 4 minutes. The fries were hot and crisp, the bun was fresh and the veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, onion, jalapeños) were all crisp and cool. I don't know what sauce they put on it but it complimented the sandwich perfectly. I recommend this Carl's for quality food, fast, friendly service and good value. read more
