I was a long time patient of this place and everything was fine until it wasn't. Last time I was…read morein for glasses, they changed their house brand and I could no longer get the glasses I wanted. Not a deal breaker at the time. But now they require a "mandatory" extra $45 retinal scan (not covered by insurance and not told until AFTER you book an appointment), and that was a deal breaker. Don't force me into a service that I've not had before, have no information on and go "well, our doctors require it and it's another $45 out of pocket." I have decided to go somewhere else for eye exams that don't force un-covered procedures on you. Editing to add after the reply from the eye place: This procedure was NOT recommended. It was REQUIRED and it was conveyed you have no choice if you want it done or not. If you say no, no check up. If you say yes, then you have to pay the $45 since it's not covered by insurance. Again, this is not a recommendation of a procedure if it is required and that requirement is only told after you book an appointment. And then you have to pay more for this procedure that is forced on you.

Tried again and the same thing. Then I got a text saying they couldn't answer the phone and to let them know via text what I needed. I sent a detailed message and asked if they could help. No response. Not even a 'sorry, we can't help' or 'our first available appointment is in two weeks,' or, 'We're not accepting new patients.' Worst way to treat prospective customers, starting with not even answering the phone.

Due to routine care we decided to see an optometrist at Eyemart express which was Dr. Balgemann. After the eye exam it took almost 3 weeks to get her new lenses in. He indicated that the change he made was very significant and if she had any issues such as headaches or could not tolerate them to just give him a call and he would adjust the prescription without seeing her. I had my daughter wear the glasses for at least a week and she was continually getting headaches and struggling while at school. I called the office as instructed by the doctor and was told he was at the office for a couple days and would return my call as soon as he was in. Never received a call so called was told he was with patients and would call when he was available. Waited another four hours called him back again and was still told he was with patients and wouldn't be able to see her for another almost 3 weeks and would not adjust the prescription without seeing her. I called the office and advised that I would be bringing my daughter in because she needed to have her prescription corrected. We sat in the office for over an hour and then were told he could not see her. He was booked for the day and was leaving. I asked for a refund on our exam and glasses as I will be taking her elsewhere and was told the manager on call couldn't make that decision.....I will be calling the corporate office as this is completely unacceptable and I highly encourage others to seek a different healthcare providers in the area! Not to mention the staff that works in the glasses section was also rude and put me on hold for at least 10 minutes before I finally hung up. They have all my contact information and of course no one called me back.

He said he wouldn't do that procedure without also doing a breast lift. He claimed it would be painless and I could go out to dinner the same night. He also claimed that the implants could stay in for over 20yrs. He insisted on silicone and said it was perfectly safe. All were red flags. I thought he'd give me an idea of implant size but I was left alone in a room with implant inserts to try on. I wanted input because I didn't know how big would be too big with the lift. All he had said is you'll regret not going big and then left. It seems like a bigger implant could cause stress on the lift stitches. Then the sales lady came in with paperwork insisting that I sign the contract. That's when I gave up and left. I'm so glad I did, this is not the doctor I want when making a big decision. I never saw him again or heard from his office.

I went in for a breast augmentation consultation, and from the jump Dr. Kurley gave off bad vibes; stereotypically arrogant, rude, cocky air about him. Condescending, and wouldn't let me ask questions. He also freaked out in the middle of the consult and asked me if I had a hidden recording device...all of this and I still ended up letting him do surgery on me. Right before going in for surgery, I explained to him that I was concerned the implants were not the right volume for me; he disregarded my concern and more or less said he knows better than me, and I woke up depressed and extremely disappointed. I started crying to the nurse, who then brought Dr. Kurley back in, who sat in front of me and belittled me and told me I was wrong for feeling upset, and then started rattling off his credentials, almost bragging to me about what an amazing Dr he is. All the while I am still waking up from the anesthesia, horrified, and asked the nurse (whom I later discovered is Dr Kurley's WIFE), to have him leave the room. He also made several comments about how it is women's fault for not being better patients and coming back to his practice to "fix issues." This was hands down the worst outcome/experience possible for me. I wanted to have this done right the first time, now I'm going to have to pay more money to have a better Dr do it again, not to mention have to go under anesthesia and through surgery AGAIN. P.S. I was texting my boyfriend the whole time describing each creepy room I entered so they would know where to find me if something happened...the office was by far the weirdest, creepiest office and so unprofessional. It looked like a room you'd take the SATs in in the '90s.
