My husband and I had a routine annual eye exam today. Dr.G.Payne is very kind, thorough, caring, professional, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain it to us so we would understand. The office staff is very friendly. The Medical assistant, Alie Devlin, is very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. I bought an expensive pair of glasses which turned out to be very uncomfortable and actually cause pain. I was basically told to take a hike as the 30 day warranty was over. A adjustment was not even attempted. read more

We have been coming to Caris at Johns Creek since many years.. today I took my son and nurse who saw us was totally unprofessional. She was chewing a gum and was talking so bluntly, didn't know a very well known brand of an otc eye drops, and very inconsiderate. I had been patient for Caris Eye Alpharetta location for couple of years. Everything was great. But unfortunately I moved to Suwannee and brought my children to Suwanee location. But the hardware store lady said they didn't accept my insurance which was always accepted by Alpharetta location. Today I wanted yearly checkup therefore I called both location to make sure if they would accept my insurance. But Alpharetta said location accepts it for both checkup and hardware but Suwanee location said they don't accept it even for checkup now. I think they don't know their work or it is ridiculous to have different policy in two stores under same name read more

Don't know why the reviews are so bad! I loved this place. I just moved from San Diego CA to Suwanee Georgia and was previously seeing the same Optometrist for about 17 years. Establishing care at this new place was awesome and every single employee was tentative, thorough and extremely kind. Glad I found my new Optometrist so quickly. read more

I've been using Caris for several years and the service has always been very ggod. Optician took really good care of me, understood my insurance and worked with me to get the best value. Apparently Caris has been purchased by a corporation. Optician staff has changed, they seem to have a corporate agenda and push me toward specific technology. It has been a hassle to get my glasses how I wan them this time. About to make my fourth visit this summer and hopefully will have the glasses I asked for. read more

Dr. Scott Emely saved my sight. He recognized that my loss of peripheral vision swas caused by a tumor pressing on my optic nerve. He arranged my MRI and connected me with a neurosurgeon. I can't thank him enough. read more

Love the doctors. Not happy with the glasses. Yes they are way more expensive. I felt like it was worth the service until I found out there is no service. Would not buy glasses from them again. Sooooo. The office manager contacted me and credited me for the glasses. I believe it may be because of my post on Yelp she called. I don't believe they would have contacted me otherwise. Great practice on Dr. Emily's diagnosing the issue with my eyes and recommending wearing scales contacts lens. However, never consent formally the warranty period and its expiration on these contact lens. Eventually after a few time back and force on the issue I had with my right eye after wearing the contact lens, Dr. Emily offered exchange the lens and adjust it to my eye under warranty. But after 13 days of waiting to get the lens under warranty, suddenly star saying the warranty period is over and need to pay $650!!! Not ethical and professional in their patient-doctor relationship. VERY DISAPPOINTED. read more

If I could give this Eye doctors office a negative amount of stars I would! My daughter and I went in to have eye exams at the same time. She saw one doctor and I saw another. She was given a full contact lens exam that included new contacts and then an exam after the contacts were given to her to asses the lenses. They did not have the contacts I used in stock so there was not an contact exam preformed at all! I was just given a prescription and they were done. My insurance deductible is variable depending on the extensiveness of the contact exam. Well since mine really did not exist I thought for sure my exam would be cheaper than my daughters. NO they charge us both the maximum about that insurance allotted and when I asked them about the cost they did not even care at all! we have had the same insurance for over 5 years and I have never paid as much as I did! Super frustrated and will never return!! STAY AWAY!! read more

This place is over priced, the eye doctor is not competent, and the office staff is not helpful. Altogether I wasted hundreds of dollars and could only see properly out of my right eye. The doctor messed up my prescription in one eye. I pointed out that the prescription was different than normal, and he said it is common to have a different prescription for glasses than contact lenses. After hearing this, I wasn't worried. But then when my contacts came in, the prescription was the same as my glasses, almost a full diopter off in my left eye. At this point, I asked the office staff to re-order them with my correct prescription. They said there was no mistake. They told me it is common for your eyes to get better over time, so they advised me to try them out for a week or two and come back if I had trouble with them. After a week I called back and couldn't reach the office. I left messages but never got a call back. The following week I visited the office and explained that I couldn't see well enough and my prescription was wrong. The receptionist told me that vision correction becomes more difficult as you get older. I said, you mean at the age of 23, vision decreases so sharply that there is a significant decline between last week and this week? I think it's more likely that the new lenses were the wrong prescription. I asked to see the doctor and they refused to let me see him (they offered to let me make another appointment). I couldn't possibly bare to give this place even more money. The worst part is that they lied about how much everything would cost. When I asked whether they were covered by my insurance (both over the phone when I made my appointment, and right before my appointment while I was filling out the paperwork), they said, yes your insurance is accepted. Meanwhile, they charged about Three Times as much as what my insurance covered! However, my insurance coverage is plenty to cover the whole eye exam at many other offices. I know they didn't technically lie, because they do accept my insurance, but they definitely misled me on purpose. I felt tricked. read more

I don't recommend this practice. There was a time when they were a good practice, but those days have passed. My last 2 annual visits have been the worst from a Dr point of view. Whether it's Greg Payne or Scott Emely, you are not treated with professional courtesy or respectful of your time. They would rather chat up other staff or meet with vendors than treat patients that have waited for nearly an hour past their appointment time. The office staff is good and friendly, but there are better places to go spend your money. read more

First visit here and everything was great! Appointment was easy and staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend Dr. Borgnini-Emely. I was also there to pick out new glasses, and found the process easy and staff was patient with my decision making. Been there once for myself and my son, won't go there again ever. A youth new grad doctor saw my son, he is kind of impatient and in rush. For my contact lense, the staff mess up my prescription, axis for example, should be 20, they put 200. Visit the 4 times, finally, got the contact leanse, after 1 month trial, i complain the brand of my left eye, want doctor change to acuvue oasys, since I used oasys for many years, very comfortable. But the doctor insist his prescription, saying with excuse that oasys don't provide the high power for my need. Lie!!! I guess they get kickback from that certain brand. I would not be going there anymore. First they don't open Saturdays(They did last year). Second I was told there is no way they can put me and my two kids around the same time for the same doctor. I will either come in at 2:00pm since they close at 6:00pm(you need four hours to check three set of eyes which do not need glasses?), or I will have to split my appointment with two different doctors. The lady Holly had an attitude the whole time. She could care less about me after I explained to her I am a full time working mom with two kids at school. I also told her we had the same appointment time for all three of us last year at this clinit. I guess I am the only one with a crazy life schedule so I will just take my business to another clinic that is more flexiable and understandable to the customer needs. read more
