Loved the feel inside and everyone was friendly. Food was great, the bread was amazing. I got the chicken parm. The chicken portion was large and loved the fresh mozzarella on top. I would have liked a little more sauce. Will be back to try the pizzas!

Decent local spot for southern Italian food with huge portions. We had the Veal Marsala, Fettuccine Alfredo, and the Mussels. Dishes were ok- the Veal was probably the best entree of the evening. Would probably give this place 3 1/2 stars if that was available.

We came here on a whim after attempting to go to a nearby Thai restaurant that was closed. The place was packed on a Friday night but we were still seated immediately. The service, while not fast, was very friendly. The peach Cosmo was delish! Our entrees came with a bread basket, garlic olive oil and Parmesan cheese. I don't know if I've ever had too much garlic on anything - ever - but their garlic olive oil had so much raw garlic that I'll be keeping the vampires away for decades! Not my favorite, but their entrees made up for it. I had the penne alla vodka, which was creamy and perfectly al dente. My husband had the chicken Marsala with penne, which was slightly sweet and delicious. The ambiance was very homey and comfortable. I can see why they have so many positive reviews!

We waited about 45 minutes for our pasta dishes. The restaurant is not very busy tonight but it is Sunday, and the waiter mentioned this is the last day of the week they're open. We wanted to order pizza and the waiter said they are out of pizza for the night but he didn't tell us until about 30 minutes after we were sitting. Also, we asked for no shrimp in the tortellini dish we ordered but they gave us shrimp anyway. The food tasted fine otherwise but I probably won't be coming back.

Dined here last night with a friend. They only had room in the patio area which was cold. We were very hungry and in the mood to try a little bit of everything. We started with a salad. The server told us the bigger portion would be too big, so the smaller would be better. It was more of a one-person portion than two. The house vinaigrette is perfect. We split a Margherita pizza, which we both loved. Can't go wrong with a nice wood fire pizza! Fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the shrimp tortellini and I got the fettuccine clams in garlic sauce. We were served bread and olive oil with the entrees. The bread was nothing special, but it doesn't matter when you have oil and cheese to douse it in. The clams in my pasta were tasty, but pretty scarce in comparison to the noodles. The garlic sauce is... garlic sauce. Pretty oily and extremely garlicky. I enjoyed my friends shrimp tortellini more than my own dish. It has a scrumptious cream sauce. We finished our meal with a nice slice of tiramisu. Yum! I prefer it to have a bit more coffee flavor, but other than that is was great. There are plenty of dishes I still want to try so I'm sure I'll be back!

Carini's is the place to go for traditional Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Came here recently on a Saturday night to enjoy some Italian eats with my main dining companion. Our server was brand new and did a wonderful job with our table. We both ordered bourbon Manhattans, which were strong, ample, and well made (though missing a cherry). To begin our experience, bread with this amazing olive oil, herb, and garlic (tons of garlic--so good!) was brought to our table with our Manhattans. The bread was ok but the oil mixture was the true star of the show. If you like garlic, you will love this! For my entree, I ordered their eggplant pasta. I actually was trying to order their eggplant parmesan, but through a miscommunication with our server ended up with the eggplant pasta--a happy accident! The pasta was flavorful with ample diced eggplant. It was rich, flavorful, and just plain delicious. For dessert, we shared a cannoli, which was a lovely treat (highly recommend!). All in all a wonderful first experience with Carini's La Conca D'Oro. Get to it (they have curbside takeout as well!)!

    Chicken Marsala

The food was amazing- the flavors were savory and the portions were huge! I had the chicken marsala and my boyfriend had a margarita pizza. The pizza crust was cooked to perfection. Our server, Lisa, deserves huge accolades!! She was attentive, funny, helpful and kind. She checked up on us regularly despite the restaurant being busy- which was so refreshing from service I havw received from other restaurants. The owner checked up on us at the end of our meal to ask how everything was, which I think is very important for a restaurant and the customer experience . The ambiance of the restaurant was clean, quant, and authentic! We will definitely be returning and asking for Lisa!

St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!

Well we knew it was not going to be cheap but I was a bit floored by the tab of $45 with tip and a charge for using a credit card. We were taken to our table which was at the back of the restaurant with a beautiful view and relatively quiet... perfect. Put our orders in with a very nice waitress: Me: 3 Oysters, Caesar salad, Lobster Tails Glass of wine Wife: Chopped Salad, LobsterTails, wine BTW. I love to have wine with a meal and enjoy it by the bottle. However in looking at their Wine Book they essentially triple the cost of a bottle. So to have a bottle of champagne was going to put us out over $150 .... for a cheap one. It was offered by the glass for $28. Bread was very good but with cold butter. Hate that. Chopped salad got a very high mark from a salad critic (wife) and my Caesar not so much. Get the one at Cooper's Hawk. for a comparison. The Lobster was great. $74 seems a lot until you go out and but anything comparable. The serving was generous and well prepared. A complimentary desert was offered and it was Chocolate and Hazelnut. VERY highly recommended. My mind had been set on Key Lime Pie so we had that too. Bottom line: $45 bar + $264 dinner+ $61 tip +$10 parking = $380 Would we do it again. Maybe but it was expensive. Oh I forgot there was a $5 charge for using my credit card. Good Grief!!

Barnacle Bud's had a cool decor vibe and moody lighting. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and you could tell she was very excited about the menu and the pop-up experience. She provided exceptional customer service- she went over the menu thoroughly, came back to check on us multiple times, and always refilled our water, which I always appreciate! To start, we ordered wine and the relish tray. Everything on the relish tray was a little too vinegary for me but most of the table enjoyed it. However, the four of us didn't finish it. It was pretty powerful with vinegar flavor. For an entree, I had the salmon with veggies and my friends ordered the lamb chops, carbonara, and a vegetarian friend ordered a plate of Bud's potatoes and veggies. The food was good but I thought mine was very salty. And I'm glad I ordered my sauce on the side. For dessert, the four of us shared the mousse, which had good flavor and texture. Also to note, there were up-charges for veggies, sauce was $3 extra, etc., so just pay attention to pricing if that's a concern for you. Overall, it was a unique experience and worth checking out.

I checked and there are lots of stores in the Chicago area but this appears to be the first in the Milwaukee area. It's a interesting concept. Everything is frozen, including meats, fish, vegetables and meals. There is a large selection of interesting, or what might be considered exotic foods. You can get cuts of Elk, Bison, and Venison. They have organ meats and oxtails. They have a large selection of shrimp, and some that are so big that you might mistake them for lobster. For many of the items, there are plenty of choices. For example there is not just one salmon or shrimp selection. They have at least 12 different types to choose from. For different locations, different types, different, and different types of production standards (organic, non-gmo, pasture raised, etc) The store is well organized. All of the standing freezers or wall units are neatly packed and well labeled. Pricing is easy to discern. It's easy to shop and find what you are looking for. I found the help to all be helpful, and friendly. The staff at the registers were patient, and chatty. I bought a couple of items, and looking forward to cooking up the pasture raised chicken (breasts) and the Gulf Coast shrimp. This is not my side of town, so it's a little out of my way.
