We settled on what I *thought* was needed, and he sent a rough estimate within a couple hours. A big relief! However, my circumstances changed abruptly, and I needed to cancel the move. As I had no idea If I would be moving within a couple months or a couple years, I couldn't in good faith postpone. Alex was completely understanding. Through the entire process, from first contact to an unfortunate need to cancel, he was courteous, upfront about all matters, offered helpful suggestions, and very pleasant to work with. My only issue, falls entirely on my shoulders. They do offer a refund policy, but it was me who misunderstood the details. On their site, it clearly states that a refund will be granted only if canceled within 48 hours of booking. I had read it as before 48 hours of my move. That's not on them, my fault. This really should have been a two day job, the crew and we were exhausted by the end of the day. I'm not really upset about the cost difference because I knew what their hourly rate was. The crew really wanted to get it all wrapped up for us by the end of the day instead of stretching to another day because they had another job the next day bright and early. The booking office is really putting their workers through the wringer and I don't appreciate that. The crew was kind and delicate with our items. They were being gracious and offering to do whatever we wanted with regards to helping pack remaining items, disassembling and reassembling furniture, and organizing things at the new house. I may have taken note of their time for these things if it hadn't been clear by noon that this was going to already be a very long day. By 10pm I was just happy to have everything remaining that we own in the garage. So I did enjoy the crew, but if you go with this company and have a lot of stuff then you need to do some legwork yourself to get an accurate estimate. I had a three bedroom 1700 sqft house with a large basement and garage and it took 15 hours and cost $4k.

I received a call back within an hour of inquiry (which was in the evening). They were first willing to accommodate an early pick up then later delivery; and when that changed, they were flexible. NES Movers were some of the best (tied with Excalibur Moving Company in LA for best movers ever). They arrived early and I swear, NEVER stopped moving. It was like the Hulk had four children and then those children drank double-shot espressos. The owner, Nick, was efficient, nice and hyper. I had gone to Woodstar and bought a to-go box of coffee for everyone, but they didn't touch it. Probably didn't have time between running. They treated everything with care and wrapped extensively with blankets and plastic. Even after a 3,500 mile trip in a moving van that I'm pretty sure doesn't have shocks at all, nothing was broken. They did an excellent and professional job jigsawing everything correctly into the truck and belted it with straps (we purchased straps from them). We were in a midst of an incredibly stressful cross-country move (to say the least), and they were one of the best purchases we made. Everything was done in record time and it gave us more of the day to get the rest of the moving errands done. Thanks Nick and team!
