What a revelation this restaurant was! Fresh, beautiful, and delicious food! My breakfast this morning was astonishing (not hyperbole): house- made granola, crammed with nuts and raisins, topped with yogurt and four kinds of fresh berries. My husband savored a new menu item: lox (lots of it) on ricotta cheese-"schmeared" sourdough toast, The Fonté coffee and almond pinwheel pastry sent us away stuffed, and singing the praises of the chefs and friendly servers. Very nice restaurant! Has decent outdoor/ indoor seating and relies on the courtyard accommodations, the marina, and Washington skyline but delivered good food in a pinch. Nothing particularly negative about the place as the pizza was delicious (greasy - but expected), salad was fresh and made to order, and had a decent bottle of Chardonnay. I wouldn't recommend to large parties and isn't a place one would make plans to visit as the food can be found at similar restaurants all over Washington. If you are are in Kirkland and wish to have a bottle of wine near the marina, this is a pleasant place to be. read more

Absolutely killed it again with Christmas dinner. We thought Thanksgiving to go was amazing, so we came back for more. Terrible customer service. There are three people who are pleasant to work with at this restaurant and all three of them are the ones actually making the food. The mane meant staff or shift managers are terribly unpleasant and untrained. Avoid going if you want a pleasant place to eat. Food is good but service is disgraceful. Before even tasting the food, this is a customer service review. Staying overnight at The Woodmark I figured I'd pick up breakfast and eat in. I used the hotel website to order pickup from CK. One of the drink flavoring options was 'cinnamon bun'. Having seen and heard about "one free coffee beverage" offered to hotel guests I figured I'd order in person in case there would not be a charge. When I ordered a 'cinnamon bun latte" I was given a glare and told angrily "we don't have that." Surprised, I let the angry gate keeper know that that was an option on the online menu. I continued to get dirty looks and sharp tones insisting that was not an option they had. Finally another employee stepped in and commented a magic phrase that seemed to calm the coffee keeper and by the time I paid- coincidentally also being tip time- I got a more preferable tone from Her Grace. I know it can be a snotty area here, but that's expected from the clientele, not the businesses. There are more constructive ways to question a customer. I can think of 5 different sentences this lady could have chosen. While she grudgingly ended our tête-à-tête with milder tones, too little too late. I'd love to give less stars but I managed to shave off some bitterness in light of current times and perspective and gratitude and all. I am including photographic evidence of my offense in the event the selection gets fixed. Word to the wise: DONT order the cinnamon bun flavoring. It angers them. All of the food here is so fresh and local, which, paired with the ambiance, is a perfect hipster/hippie place to grab lunch if you're not an avid Seattle-goer. The first time I came here, I didn't like the sandwich I ordered because of the mushy vegetables they stuffed inside it. The contents were just ingredients that really did not belong on a sandwich (it was one of the meatless sandwiches at the very bottom of the menu). But the soup was the highlight of my visit! It was palatable and addicting. The second time I came her, I caved and got a meat sandwich (top of the menu), and it was by far WAY better than the first sandwich I ordered. Absolutely delicious vegetables and salad, delicious gravy and stuffing, lovely whole grain bread, and a fabulous whole pumpkin pie (and turkey, of course), all this for two. There was a line when we arrived a bit after 12, not unexpected, ordered a asian salad, good serving and tasted good, wanted a white pizza but they said they didn't have any, ordered a ruben sandwich, I have to wonder if the sandwiches are pre-made, when it arrived about 30 plus minutes later, it was cold. We work in the complex, and the revised menu with higher prices was concerning at first... but seriously the new stuff is really, really tasty. Have eaten about 1/3 of the menu and it really is delicious. The grinder and crabmelt sandwich are some of the best hot sandwiches I can remember eating and the chicken chop salad was also really fantastic. Came here for brunch on a Sunday - arrived at 11:15 to find that they stopped serving breakfast at 11am... which seems like a business idea failure from the start. The customer service was horrible. We weren't greeted for at least a minute after entering, and there was no line. When we were finally acknowledged there was no "hi, how are you?" There wasn't even a smile... the first thing we were asked was "for here or to go?" No warmth, no apology or empathy or anything that we just missed breakfast. Condescending and cold interaction through and through. We decided not to order food and just to grab coffee to-go. A 12 OZ COLD BREW WAS $5.50 and it wasn't even that good! We spent $11 on two cold brews... most expensive cold brew in all of Kirkland - and not even close to the best. The food might be great here but the customer service left a horrible taste in my mouth. I honestly have little desire to come back. The cozy looking seats by the fire place where the one things to leave a positive impression. We will likely give this place a second chance since it is new and others gave it a good review... and I'll adjust my review accordingly if it surprises me. read more

I was very excited when I arrived but very disappointed when I left. First, we ordered the OLYMPIA GRINDER, ITALIANO pizza, a cup of sun dried tomato soup and latte. The OLYMPIA GRINDER was great but they brought a ITALIAN SAUSAGE no soup. I had to ask for the soup and then they brought 2 soups (we only ordered one)...the soup was good though. Eventually they brought the right pizza but it was terrible. The Prosciutto was cooked...it should not be cooked! The crust was over cooked..basically burned. It was like eating burnt bacon on a burnt saltine cracker with way too much Arugula! Then when my other son arrived he ordered an OLYMPIA GRINDER which is supposed to be on Toasted Ciabatta but it came on Marina Baguette. What the heck? We spent over $50 and this was the experience? This place has been operational for about a year and I come every now and again. They have good salads, which is what I typically get. All fresh and have a vegan and vegetarian options. It's nice to have a place like this near Work given the other restaurants in the facility are way to expensive for a lunch. Though $10 for a salad seems a bit steep. Counter service, with table delivery is set up. We ordered Avocado toast and the Croissant sandwich, easy enough along with 2 lattes, coffee came was ok not great then we proceeded to sit finish our coffees watch a guy come in order get served Avocado toast we were still waiting . Wife went to counter not once but twice finally our order arrived cold eggs on both when confronted instead of being concerned they had canned excuses did not finish our $40 breakfast. Had the opportunity to try this place out last week and what a great spot. Highly recommend. The layout and decor is very clean and modern, they have all sorts of seating that is very comfortable for every size of party. The staff was incredibly friendly and were happy to explain all of the food and it's background in detail. They also have a great sense of humor which is always a bonus. All of the food was delicious, I don't remember exactly what I had from the menu but every bite was fantastic, packed with flavor. Came with seven people on a sunny afternoon. Loved how FRESH everything tasted! Among the things our group ordered: a mediterranean wrap, a very thin-crusted pizza, a curried salad, a quinoa bowl with greens, a sandwich with soup, and a great kale salad. Everyone was happy with their choices! Also available were fresh juices. Service was friendly, and though the ambience inside is pleasant, we loved sitting at the tables outside in the fresh air.
