A few Saturdays back, I had some time to kill before a Minnesota Wild game. I had spent a bit of time in downtown Minneapolis. I ended up checking out Fridley for a bit and heading to this Caribou Coffee to get a drink. This cafe has a drive-thru. It's a bit weird in that it's next to Pancheros Mexican Grill and you see the signage for this eatery when you enter the drive-thru. Luckily, there is a small Caribou Coffee sign with an arrow to clear that confusion up. I got a cheerful woman on the other end of the speaker. I gave her my phone number associated with my rewards points. I then went with a medium sparkling strawberry mango tea. I headed to the pickup window. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and then tipped. It didn't take long to make my drink. It looked good when she handed it to me. I thanked her and drove off to park nearby. I had lunch and drank this beverage in my car. This drink was so good. I love the sparkling line at Caribou. The strawberry and mango flavours were cheerful and refreshing. It enhanced my lunch. I miss Caribou. It was nice being in Fridley, finding this cafe, and getting my beverage fix. (95)

The food is disgusting including their dry old bakery items and this microwave "souffle" that has gelatinous uncooked goo inside.

My worst Caribou experience since my last Caribou experience. They continue to outdo themselves. Dried up "bakery" items, terrible food.

But a sign is present at the end

I stopped by and notice that no one was at the intercom, I waited for a couple minutes and drove up to the front and seen their sign that says they will closed at 12pm, which their website says 5pm. It makes it very inconvenient when business don't update the website, and plus it would be helpful if they placed a sign on the menu board

Parking available in the shared business lot out front, but it was VERY busy on this Sunday afternoon! The interior of this spot is one for the senses: colorful walls, random knick knacks, plants, and plenty of coffee-sipping patrons. While it was a LOT of stimulation, I loved every bit of it. I was so happy to see so much support for this local spot! The servers were so friendly and helpful during my order and pick up process! Incredibly LGBTQ+ friendly. I HAD to go with the Go Bananas option on my iced latte, their proprietary blend of banana, vanilla, and hazelnut that leaves you with the most beautiful flavor! I also appreciated that they have a layered iced latte option...with the shot on top! This spot definitely is one of my favorite hidden gems from the last few years, and might crack into the top five coffee spots in the Cities for me! A MUST VISIT!

They had a few cute items for sale, like momo merch, stickers and more. I got the black sesame latte which was strong but good. We also ordered potato and chive momos and they were decent. I think it could have used a bit more flavor, a bit starchy tasting. But the soy sauce helps a tiny bit. Would for sure come back to check out more. I was a bit shocked that they had to put signs on some of the lower tables for people to not put their feet on them. In a cafe/food establishment that should be common sense but I definitely get it. As it was busy it was a bit loud but I really like the vibes and aesthetic of this cafe!

Note: this is inside Wicked Wort brewery now! It's a HUGE space, which is honestly nice because there's always seating available. Great use of shared space. Has an industrial feel to it with the exposed ceiling and dark wood elements. Service was great and helpful! Very friendly, neighborhood vibes. The barista knew most of the people ordering after us by name AND order - you can tell a lot of people come here often. Quite a large retired and elderly population came here for breakfast on the day we visited. Prices are very affordable for breakfast! We got a burrito and burrito bowl for $8-9 each. You can't get hardly anything for under $10 these days! Latte prices were more standard, but we got specialty items. These weren't our faves: the vanilla bean latte was quite sweet, and my peppermint matcha didn't taste much of peppermint (and I'm not sure they're using very good quality matcha). But our breakfast more than made up for it! Food was out quickly, and the rest of their lunch menu (and ice cream) looked great too.

On the way out, I wanted to get dessert and got the cookies for 2 for $1 and a black drip coffee to go! Yummy! I LOVE this place!

Depending on the time of day, the service queues can be a bit spotty…read more Like many other places, their staffing is challenged by people wanting to take a job there. I am a former barista for Starbucks so I am aware what it takes to work behind the counter. The difficulty level of their beverages have definitely increased so I'm willing to give some slack. First, Brandy, the store manager, suggested the Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte yesterday and I ordered it today. Oh my goodness, it's good, not overly sweet and very buttery! YUM So let's talk about where they excel: In the morning, the queues can be difficult. I HIGHLY recommend ordering via the app. They are always spot-on correct and if you give them about 15 minutes from ordering at your home and arriving, then it's a matter of STOP BEING LAZY, park your car, walk into the store, get your order, and leave. Food can take a hot minute to get but, again, using the app will almost guarantee a walk-in and walk-out experience. The morning crew is awesome! They are friendly and attentive. They understand one thing - it's going to busy but they usually take care of business with a willingness to help. Now let's talk about areas they could improve: The cafe can get messy and they only have one person on the register or running (or both) they don't always pay attention to cleaning tables or floors. The bathrooms can be a bit spotty too. However, if you have a table that's dirty and you ask them to clean it? They will. What's the moral of the story? ASK! Late afternoon queues, especially for drive-thru can be long. Again, the app will save you some time. if they are running any type of afternoon sale, DEFINITELY USE THE APP to avoid long wait times and give at least 20 minutes before arriving to the store. Recently, there have been drive-thru queue times from the time I've gotten to the drive way to order to leaving of 15+ minutes.
