I was in the area and desperately needed some coffee as I hadn't had any all day. It was already close to 7pm and luckily, this Caribou Coffee was open and very nearby. I went through the drive-thru which was easy to find even though it's near other businesses. Great job on the signage for the drive-thru and easy to hear the employee on the speaker as well. I was greeted by Dani, who was friendly and welcoming. Even though I pulled up about 15 minutes before closing, she told me to take my time. The drive thru menu was readable and well organized. The order process was smooth, the transaction quick, and my drink tasted fantastic....exactly what I needed. If I find myself in the area again, I'd definitely consider stopping by. A few Saturdays back, I had some time to kill before a Minnesota Wild game. I had spent a bit of time in downtown Minneapolis. I ended up checking out Fridley for a bit and heading to this Caribou Coffee to get a drink. This cafe has a drive-thru. It's a bit weird in that it's next to Pancheros Mexican Grill and you see the signage for this eatery when you enter the drive-thru. Luckily, there is a small Caribou Coffee sign with an arrow to clear that confusion up. I got a cheerful woman on the other end of the speaker. I gave her my phone number associated with my rewards points. I then went with a medium sparkling strawberry mango tea. I headed to the pickup window. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and then tipped. It didn't take long to make my drink. It looked good when she handed it to me. I thanked her and drove off to park nearby. I had lunch and drank this beverage in my car. This drink was so good. I love the sparkling line at Caribou. The strawberry and mango flavours were cheerful and refreshing. It enhanced my lunch. I miss Caribou. It was nice being in Fridley, finding this cafe, and getting my beverage fix. (95) read more

I like caribou's dark roast coffee (my go-to), the caramel high rise (sweet treat) and the blueberry croissant (warmed up), among other things. I appreciate the rewards program and find the caribou app fairly easy to use. The staff at this location are great -- friendly, personable, conversational. I had the worst experience here for the first time ever. Today, I didn't recognize the person who was in charge of the cash register and taking orders. First, she had a rude attitude. Second, she took forever to get to me (meanwhile I'm the only person in line). Third, I overhead one of the workers say "if anyone else comes in the door and it gets busy I will lock the fucking doors." Fourth, I waited 20 mins for my drink while no one else was in line. It almost seemed like they were purposely taking a long time. And fifth, I went up to ask about my drink again and they had completely forgot to make it. I never left with my drink. I haven't really read many reviews but I see overall its not good. My personal experience: I work nearby and stopped on my way to work. It was early a little after opening. Service was very slow on the drive thru side. I ordered an everything bagel with Jalapeño cream cheese & a Mocha. The bagel was very hard. Almost felt stale. The jalapeño cream cheese was actually like a jalapeño cheese spread. I didn't care for it at all. Which might be my fault because I couldn't find it on the menu fast enough to read all the cream cheeses they had. I waited a good 10 minutes at the window after giving my order for them to make the drink, bagel & take my payment. Visibly I could 3 workers but maybe some were new because it seemed like they were helping each other with 1 order at a time, which is fine. I'd wait to have my stuff done right. Not ideal if you have somewhere to be, that's for sure. read more

I've been going here for years and didn't notice the switch to only Caribou until I saw the menu changes. My orders contained everything that I paid for until recently. Last time, they left a whole sandwich out and I couldn't return for a coue of days to ask for it. I had ordered using the app. When I finally went back, they said there was nothing they could do for me. I wrote Caribou and to their credit, they put a free sandwich on my app. So... I went today, used the app and picked up at the drive thru to get the free sandwich and a couple of other things. After they gave me my order,, I pulled over and parked.. Ugh, the apple drink was entirely watered down, the bagel I had requested to be toasted was not and they left out a bakery item. I went inside to complain and rhe manager was very friendly and gave me two bakery items for my trouble. I appreciate that buy I'm not going back. I only gave two starts because the manager was so great. The amount of mistakes and lack of care (or so it seemed, I know there's a pandemic and all) has made me decide not to return. I come here frequently out of convenience because it's close to my house, more times than not the drinks are very inconsistent and poorly made. I ordered a nitro turtle mocha with an extra shot of espresso and it tasted like chocolate milk so I went back in to ask if I could have it made with less flavoring then because it was so sweet and she was going to charge me for a new one or for another shot of espresso to put in it. I was a barista for 3 years and never did I ever charge someone for a new drink when they weren't happy with the first. read more

This used to be a partnership between Caribou and Einstein's. It no longer is. There's another one in Brooklyn Center that also broke up, and that one is just an Einstein's now with no reference to Caribou. Meanwhile this one is just a Caribou now and they haven't bothered removing the references to Einstein's. The difference between the two is striking. This used to be one of our weekend breakfast mainstays, but now the food quality has taken a nosedive. Whether it's a bagel, a sandwich, or a muffin, the bread is now much denser and drier than before. "Stodgy" is the British Baking Show judges would call it. Try both this place and the other former one in Brooklyn Center and you'll see a significant difference. read more

I just waited in the drive through line for 25 minutes to place my order. It took an additional 8 minutes to receive my cappuccino and a bagel. The drive through is a single lane, so once you're boxed in, you have no option to get out. The gal working the drive thru seemed to know the wait was long, but that there was nothing she could do about it. Clearly there is a staffing problem here. God I really wanted this place to be awesome because I love Einstein and I hate the breakfast food and Caribou and Starbucks. This combination is a win-win. However, this location is a total fail. I have been here about 8 or so times since they opened and have never had a good experience (I kept trying again to give them the benefit of the doubt of working out new store kinks). NOT ONCE, have I come and they weren't "out of" something I ordered (I put that in quotation because based on another review it seems they lie about being out of stuff). During breakfast they only had 2 kinds of bagels. Two. Another time they hadn't defrosted any sausage. Another time none of the ingredients needed for a specialty sandwich ordered. Another time almond milk. The list goes on. In addition to the major issues with stocking product, the orders are always wrong or subpar. Breakfast sandwiches with unmelted or toasted cheese and bagel, weird tea that taste like mountain dew when I ordered a plain green tea, long wait times for simple orders. Kendall thought it was clever to go put heavy cream cheese on my bagel after I asked for light cream cheese my husbands drink was sour and tasted like it had some sort of chemical in it. Mine was supposed to be the berry smoothie and when I got it it was completely liquid and chunky. My husband and I had went back in to ask for a refund for the drinks and the bagel to be remade and the manager Ally had an attitude and said, "I'm not sure how you want me to change the base". As a loyal Caribou customer for as long as I can remember, this location does not represent the brand or the experience I am accustomed to at any other Caribou location. I can look past a longer than usual wait for coffee, especially during peak time. But the wait time at this location is out of control every time - no matter what time of day or day of the week, the time it takes to get an order is beyond unacceptable.
