IMO a SCAM of a business that does not care about customer loyalty. CONS: - ZERO customer loyalty. - They DO NOT HONOR COUPONS POSTED on their website. - INEFFICIENT. They did not check the vehicle after the work was done. - INCONVENIENT. Had to go back another day to remedy their issue. - OVERPRICED. - Lack of COURTESY SHUTTLE. Overall close to 10 years, with them taking care of our 2-3 vehicles each being no less than $700. I would recommend any other shop in the area. read more

I've been going to Carfix for several years now, and have never had a great experience. They are so close to me, I just keep going hoping it will get better. Sadly, it's gotten worse. The quality of their work is subpar, and the technicians turnover quite frequently. I asked to speak to the manager about their exorbitant pricing. He admitted that they are among the most expensive repair shops in the triangle. When I asked how he justifies it, he said it's because of their warranty. So I said "great, you ruined my other car by not testing it last year . I'm within that warranty timeline so you will cover it, right?" Without hesitation he said "well, the warranty is only good for certain repairs." He didn't even know what the repair was from last year, but he was ready to deny the claim anyway. I could tell he was literally embarrassed at himself when he said it. Next time you go to Carfix, ask them for the pricing, then tell them you won't pay that. They will magically drop the rates. It will still be a rip-off, but it goes to show how they are looking to get over on their customers. I'd been going there for years with 4 different cars. The convenience of the location is no longer worth overpaying for. and their 'warranty' isn't worth the breath they waste to explain it to you. read more

I would like to start by saying Thank you Ron for working on my 2015 Buick Enclave. You was so patient we me while my warranty company was taking their time to answer him. My car is running like new again. Ron fix my Differential Clutch and change my transmission oil. I had a 5 star reviewed Carfix place in my backyard and why didn't I come here sooner? I am glad I did now. They do oil changes and tires, anything else I'm sure. Yes, it's a bit hard to turn into but I just roll on in and they seem to know how and where to park it. Also they have another new location on Hillsboro street which is not on google maps yet. I started coming to Carfix because the previous auto repair shop sold their business to Carfix. I decided to give them a chance and so far they've been reasonably priced and honest! It's easy to make an appointment and everyone is really nice there. I appreciate their feedback and never feel like they're trying to take advantage of me. I even asked about adding a hitch to my car and they referred me to Uhaul saying it would be a better price because they do that more frequently. That impressed me! The reason this review is a four star and not a five star is due to them applying a real sticker to the inside of the windshield after an oil change. Not like one of those plastic decals that is easily removed but a legit sticker with glue. I got an oil change some months back and they applied a sticker that was a real B to get off! I have all my interior windows tinted with a ceramic coating - including my windshield - so I don't want anything on my windows that could damage them. I was lucky to be able to easily get the sticker off with minimal glue residue but I handled it immediately. Had I let my car sit in the sun even for a day the glue would have adhered to the window and I would have had to use chemicals which could have damaged my tint. I had forgotten about the sticker until yesterday. I referred my best friend to Carfix and she was stoked with their great service. However, after we picked her car up she saw the sticker. I tried to help her get the sticker off but it was seared onto the window peeling in little bits leaving paper and glue and not coming off. She had to take a razor to her windshield to get it off - something I cannot do because of the tint. Ultimately, I'm not sure why they believe it's a good idea to apply a real sticker to the inside windshield when it'll sit and bake in the sun making the sticker virtually impossible to remove. It's also pretty presumptuous someone even wants a sticker applied to their car in the first place. Honestly, I always peel the oil change decals off cause I don't need to be reminded of when to get an oil change and I don't want that ugly sticker in my face when I drive. They might want to consider another option or ask if someone would want a sticker on their windshield in the first place. Other than that, they're great! So if you go for an oil change, you might want to let them know if you don't want the sticker on your window if this is a practice they're going to continue. read more

Avoid CarFix at ALL costs! We spent thousands of dollars at CarFix. Less than 3 months later after they *supposedly* completed numerous/various major fixes, the car broke down in a manner in which -- had it happened on the highway/interstate, we could have died. They either didn't fix what we paid them to fix, OR they fixed it incorrectly. We had our vehicle towed back to CarFix over a month ago, in hopes that they would try to amend their errors...We still don't have our vehicle back. They forced us to pay for the tow, and they never reimbursed us. I am going to every single news outlet that will hear me, so good luck. Edit/Update: As of 12/22/2021, we finally have the Volvo back, and it is running fine so far... read more

I can't speak for all the other negative reviews below (and it tends to be negative reviews that get written and aren't necessarily representative of a business's actual quality of service, etc.), but I have nothing but very good things to say about this car repair shop. I worked with Zander at its Raleigh location near Glenwood South and he was extraordinarily friendly, generous, and gave more than the usually expected time to answer all my questions and then some. I took my VW Passat in to Carfix to get a second opinion about a suggested major repair from another car repair shop. Not only was getting this second opinion from Carfix free, Zander actually allowed me to look at the bottom of my Passat with him as he very patiently and carefully explained why it did NOT need the suggested car repair that I initially got from the other car repair shop. That speaks for Carfix's transparency and looking out for the long-term interest of its customers, as well as its interest in building a good and caring relationship long-term with the latter.
