My granddaughter had a ball gown with 4 layers that needed to be hemmed for her Military Ball. I made an appointment. Took my granddaughter and the shoes that she would wear with the dress to "Careful Cleaners" for the seamstress to pin the dress for a proper fit. I picked up the dress, checked the hem and found that the top gauze layer was not even. I pointed this out to the lady at the cleaners before I left. At home, my granddaughter tried on the dress and I found that the hem was not even. The front was longer than the back. I called the cleaners, spoke with the same lady as before and voiced my complaint. She didn't know what to do so she called her manager to see what should be done. I received a call back NOT from the manager but the same lady that has no authority to do anything. The manager suggested I bring the dress back in (with my granddaughter and her shoes) on Wednesday to see if they can fix the dress by FRIDAY!!! Now, here is the problem with that solution: The seamstress is there till 3:00 On M-W-F. My granddaughter gets out of school at 3:15 so we would need to make another appointment. I would have to drop the dress off and then return later and pick it up. What if she screws it up worse than it is. Careful Cleaners policy is that you have to prepay for services. I paid $70 to have this dress altered. The manager did not have the courtesy to call me back . No offer of a refund or even a partial refund. I do not think I should be penalized for their mess up. This was the third time I used their services and it will be the last!! read more

I took my favorite expensive dress to this cleaners. When I dropped it off - they said it would be ready the following Tuesday (which was 5 days). I went to pick it up and they had shrunk my dress. It wouldn't even go over my head and it was 3 inches shorter. I went in and they told me I had to go to the other store and talk with the owner. When I drove to the other store (which wasn't close). The owner wasn't there so I had to leave my dress for him to look at. He was supposed to call me - two weeks go by - nothing. I went back in the shop and (he of course wasn't there) I get this story - this dress did not shrink - we are not responsible. I said you washed it in hot water. They said we don't have hot water and our store, I said then how do you do laundry and the store. Anyway, - nothing - they did nothing for me - didn't even refund the cost of dry cleaning. I dropped off a childs shirt with band patches to be pressed. When I pick it up the patches are gone and no one can give me a reason why it was laundered not pressed and patches are missing. The older lady in the back just keeps talking as if this is my fault. I wasnt happy the price originally was 4.95 for a childs shirt. Seems high but, now I am out a birthday gift for a young child. This is the first time that I have been here. I brought my basically new UGG comforter here in late June to have it cleaned before storing for the rest of summer. I picked up the comforter in the plastic they provide and I left. I ended up having surgery that was moved up so I didn't bother with the comforter I just hung it in the closet. Late July I was feeling a bit better so I went to move the comforter to one of those storage bags that you ca suck the air out of and I noticed that it had all of these little gray balls all over it, and the strings are coming out. It is clear that my comforter was washed and dried in a standard large washing machine, which I could have done myself. I went down in person with the comforter and then again to speak with someone else. The manager finally called me back and accused me of sleeping with comforter and making it dirty and then washing it myself, she then stated they had a recall on the comforter. I checked and the recall was January of 2018 for 2017 comforters. I had just bought my comforter in May. She refused to listen to anything that I had to say, or to even meet with me or speak with me in person. I have never scammed anyone in my life nor would I over a comforter. She even tried to say I waited to long, explaining I had surgery didn't even slow this horrid heartless woman down, I even offered to come down and show her my incision on my stomach but nope she wouldn't even as much as offer to refund the money to clean it. This is a great little gem of a dry cleaners! They've got great prices and have never had any kind of an issue. All items have always come back perfect! On their alterations? Outstanding! I went in recently with a complex request, "party shirts" for my entire wedding party. Providing donor shirts, fabric and minimal instruction they came out great! The only downfall for the alterations side is that they don't have a changing room. Makes it a little tough if you want pants hemmed, or dresses for the ladies. But zero follow up zero customer service. They didn't make me pay but the manager said "this is he last time will eat the cost." With that attitude I would question using them again. I love this place! Their prices are affordable, $3 per item!! and I have never had a problem with any of my clothes being ruined. I have gone to dry cleaners that charge $8-12 per item and then shrink my clothes. Ridiculous!! When I first heard of this place, I thought it was too good to be true, but it's not. The only thing that I was skeptical about was that you have to pay in advance before they clean your clothes, but trust me, this place is good and your clothes will come back clean and with no damage. read more

Don't do it! I had a bridesmaid dress hemmed and not only is it still to long but the length is not even all the way around. One side is way longer then the other. They also used plastic clips to hang it on the hanger as it is strapless (instead of using the inner hanging straps in the dress) and those cheap things damaged the material and I also have hanging beads from it now! $190 dress they jacked up, and it only cost me 50 bucks for them to do so! It's New Years eve, I have a brand new suit that NEEDS to be tailored. First place I called was Careful Cleaners (mostly because they are down the street from my place of employment), I explained my situation to the very nice tailor that answered the phone, she advised me to come on in. I originally went in just for the pants to be altered, and she recommended a few alterations to my jacket as well. She was incredibly nice and told me I could pick it up after 1PM (I came in at 10:30AM!!). I am blown away by the customer service I received here. Ok, so let me tell you about my experience there. On Halloween 10/31/13 I dropped off 2 leather jackets to be cleaned for me leaving for my trip to Arkansas on 11/22. Plenty of time right? WRONG! Ok, so I was told if I drop off my jackets on Thursday then they would be ready the next Thursday. I called the following Friday, and they weren't ready. No biggie. Called Tuesday, oh well we missed the Thursday run so they haven't been sent out yet, but they will be ready next Thursday. Ok, great, still not a big problem. 11/20, Wednesday. I get a call, oh, we need you to sign a release that you want the jackets cleaned... Um, well if I didn't want them cleaned then why would I have brought them to the cleaners to be cleaned!!!!???? And hold on, they have been there for 3 weeks and haven't been cleaned yet?!!?!? I need them in 2 days!!!! Oh well we sent them last week and they got sent back because we forgot to have you sign a release so we need a verbal consent over the phone stating that you want them cleaned and we can get them to you next Friday. I was so upset, I just yelled at her and told her I would come and get them. Why the heck did it take 3 weeks, and why the heck wasn't I called last week when they were sent back so I could at least make other arrangements to have them cleaned???? HORRIBLE!!!!! I am sure they do fine for regular cleaning, but if you need leather jackets cleaned, then I suggest you save your $45 per jacket and a month wait and have them cleaned somewhere else!!!!!! read more

ABSOLUTEY AWFUL! WORST CLEANERS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! I took 2 VERY EXPENSIVE garments to get cleaned and when I went back to pick it up, not only did they try to tell me that I didn't pay for it (had to show my receipt) but the straps on both pieces were broken. They agreed to fix them, so I left them there. Two days later I went back to get them and they were broken AGAIN! Not only that but the color of one of my garments was completely ruined. It was a metallic gray when I took it in and when I came back it was completely BLACK!! I had taken pictures of my garments before taking them there and I even brought in the "before" pictures of my garments to show them. They agreed to fix the straps again and they did notice a color change. They told me that they would give the garments, along with my pictures, to the owner, Mike. 4 days later I went back to pick up my garment with the broken strap and another piece was now broken! This had been the THIRD time that I went back to get my item and it was broken in three different spots. By this time, over a week has gone by and I still had not heard from the owner. FINALLY, the entire garment gets fixed and I take it home. This still leaves the second garment in their hands (the gray one that was now black, which I paid 112.00 DOLLARS for!). I got a hold of the owner and he said that he would call the manufacturer to see if they would replace my item. He took his sweet time (2 full weeks, in which I had to chase him down to get a reply) and told me that the manufacturer said that it was my fault for taking my garment to a cleaners in the first place!! The owner, Mike, tries to give me store credit of 50 dollars. What a joke. I called him on a Friday and I told him that I wanted HIM to replace by garment and he said "Let me think about it over the weekend and I will call you on Monday". Monday rolls around and I didn't hear from him. I called the cleaners and left my name and number and they said that he would call me later that day. HE NEVER CALLED. I waited until Thursday to call again. Left my name and number and still no reply from Mike. At this point it has been OVER A MONTH of me dealing with this atrocious company. FINALLY he answers the phone when I call, after 2 weeks of leaving my name and number for him. He says that he thought about it and has agreed that he will not be replacing my garment! In all of my years of customer service, I have never seen this type of treatment. I have NEVER felt so victimized by a company. I was so patient with them for over a month to only get nothing but a ruined garment and hundreds of dollars flushed down the drain. DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY!! I had been taking laundry to this cleaners for about 2 years. I have had several items damaged. I recently had an $85 shirt ruined. it was taken back for a redo and it actually wsd taken back twice after that tredo. The last time the shirt "soaked" for a week and they claimed that we had brought in a soiled and damaged shirt. I picked up the shirt and there a red streak was now visible. I am sad because I really like the lady at the counter. And will miss my visits with her. But I don't plan to ever go back. The fact that they ruined the shirt and then made the claim that we took the shirt in damaged. I don't think they really care for their customers. read more

I recently took my bridal gown here to get steamed and was met with great service. As one can imagine, I was very nervous about bringing an expensive gown anywhere. But, they are most certainly careful cleaners as they title themselves! However, they are NOT careful communicators. I ran into issues with which location to pick up my dress and one of the men there seemed very clueless as to how to help me and treated me very unprofessionally in the process (he didn't take my number, but instead asked me to call him back later). Thankfully, there were people there who knew what they were doing, so I cannot be too picky about the one employee. I would still recommend this place and I will definitely continue to go here! read more

At first I was happy with this Careful Cleaners, but after two incidents, I will no longer do business with them. I went to the location at 1652 N. Higley Rd. in Gilbert, AZ but I do not see a separate Yelp listing for that location. The first incident was when they lost one of my shirts. They did, however, find the shirt after about a week so the problem was solved, although it did force me to make an extra trip into their shop. They didn't offer me anything (discount, refund, coupon, etc) for my trouble. Oh well..no harm, no foul I guess. The second incident was when they tore a hole in one of my shirts and then refused to take responsibility for it. There was a 2 to 3 inch tear in the right sleeve just below the elbow on one of my shirts when I came to pick up my dry cleaning. Now, to be fair, I cannot be 100% positive that the tear wasn't there before I dropped off my dry cleaning, but I honestly do not believe it was. Even the employee agreed that I would have noticed it if the tear was there before. She said she needed to check with her manager about what to do. I told her to let me know. She called me a few hours later and informed me that her manager (whom I believe to be her son, who owns the business) told her that they didn't cause the damage and that it must have been there before. He couldn't possibly know that (if for no other reason than be lives out of state), so what really happened is that he simply did not want to pay to replace the shirt. So even though the employee agreed that I would have noticed the tear before (and thus they likely caused the tear), they effectively told me it was my problem. Since neither they nor I really know exactly how it happened, why not offer some sort of compromise - how about a discount? A refund? An apology? Instead...nothing. I'll pass on taking my regular dry cleaning there instead. read more
