Items ordered:…read more Crispy aubergine tops, amba Burrata, Grezzina courgettes, preserved lemon oil, basil Wildfarmed flour pita, tahini Grilled cucumber, black sesame sauce, Aleppo peanuts Grilled onions, Westcombe ricotta, vadouvan cashew oil Wolves Lane tomatoes, peach, basil, lime Celeriac shawarma, bkeila, fermented tomato Lamb and pistachio kofta, harissa, yoghurt, rhubarb salad My wife and I had a few days to ourselves without the kids, and we wanted to try something a little more adventurous and unknown. We had seen Rovi highlighted on the TV show Somebody Feed Phil, and we were excited by how vegetable-forward the place looked to be. This is a place for adult tastes. I think we would've really struggled to find dishes that our daughters would enjoy eating here. Rovi comes from chef Yotam Ottolenghi, an Israeli-British chef who primarily cooks modern middle eastern cuisine. The thesis of this place is to "celebrate vegetables from root to tip", and they really do that. There are meat items available, but vegetables are definitely the star throughout the menu. First of all, I'll say that this is probably the best restaurant we've eaten at all year. Every dish had a specific flavor profile, and usually multiple distinct flavors could be felt in each dish. It's even hard to pick out a favorite or even a least favorite, because everything was so good and so unique. The first dish we were served were the aubergine tops. They were perfectly crispy and not too oily. I could taste the natural aubergine flavor, and there were plenty of other spices to complement it. The burrata came next. It was complemented by generous portions of fresh mint and olives. The burrata itself was extremely fresh and light. Like all the other dishes, there was plenty of acid that went well with the core flavors. A cucumber salad was next, which was really highlighted by this amazing black sesame sauce with peanuts. Those little hits of black sesame made the entire dish. The grilled onions were recommended by the server, and they featured on the Phil show. I can see why. I have never liked the natural flavor of onions, especially green onions. But this dish had grilled the onions to a level of caramelization that made it really easy to enjoy the onion without its sharp natural taste. There was also an incredibly fresh ricotta below it that ate almost like a tofu. Either this or the Aubergine tops were our favorites for the night. The tomato salad were a seasonal item, and the tomatoes came directly from the restaurant's own garden. This dish was good, but relative to the other dishes, this one was the most conventional in terms of flavoring. The celeriac shawarma was also recommended by the server. It's kind of bold to put just celeriac as the main texture filling inside a pita and call it a shawarma. But the celeriac itself was very meaty and satisfying, and I didn't miss the meat at all. The pita itself was also very fresh. I should note, we had also ordered a separate order of pita, and the tahini sauce that came with it was also a highlight. The final dish was the lamb and pistachio kofta, and this was the one really traditional meaty dish we got. Even in this dish, there were all sorts of additional vegetable elements, with a rhubarb salad and a really nice yogurt. The meatballs were done extremely well, and tasted like the best possible combination of lamb meatballs and falafel. This was a real highlight of our whole UK trip, and I would gladly go back if the chance were to arise.

The restaurant is gorgeous as well but what really makes the entire experience is the staff. From the host to the waitstaff, everyone was beyond lovely and kind. Special shout outs to Jacob from NY and Bella from Vancouver BC that were just the best. We started with the artichokes and radishes, both of which were lovely. We did the mushroom entree and the homemade tahini and pitas were to die for. Last but not least the sticky toffee soft serve was delish - I ate every single bite. Great dinner spot for my first proper visit to London!

Every staff member from the hostess to the servers made me feel very welcome and were so enthusiastic about the menu. I chose courses -- a duck, pork and guinea fowl terrine as a starter, cumbrian lamb as my main, and wild honey ice cream for dessert. To drink I believe I had an English sparkling wine to start and then a Malbec for the lamb. It was all so delicious, I didn't want it to end. And for dessert the server brought out an actual honeycomb to the table and served freshly cut (?) the honey into the ice cream. The ice cream also came with freshly baked madelines. There was also a recommendation to pair the dessert with a whiskey (the name of which I can't remember--ha!ha!) I accepted the recommendation, and though it was a simple dessert, it was one of the best things I have eaten. The whiskey made a wonderful pairing. Highly recommend this establishment!

We arrived early and sat in the bar/lounge area to sip cocktails while we waited. I ordered the Velvet Eclipse, essentially an espresso martini. It was rich, not too sweet, and not too bitter. It was perfect. They also brought out green olives and savory seasoned crackers for us to snack on. They kept them refilled as well, which was nice. The service was fantastic and we never wanted for anything. We did their three course menu with the wine pairing. The Sommelier was brilliant and I loved everything he selected. To start, they brought out a bread basket and amuse bouche which consisted of a savory cream puff filled with a liver mousse and a little tartlet. Both were excellent bites. For my first course, I had the risotto primavera. It was cooked to perfection and the saltiness of the Parmesan with the sweetness of peas was incredible. Next, I had their steak, which was absolutely perfect. It came with a mushroom ketchup that really elevated the meat's natural flavors. For dessert, I had the Congolese chocolate torte, which was incredibly rich while having such a light texture. Each course was excellent and imaginative. Be sure to do the wine pairing, it's well worth it! This was truly a Michelin star experience!

I don't say this lightly: this was the best meal I've ever had in London. After countless trips to…read morethis city searching for a truly incredible meal, Andrew Edmunds finally delivered- and then some. We started with the Smoked Ox Tongue, which was outright delicious -- somehow better than bacon, if that's even possible. For mains, I went with the whole baked Dover sole and my colleague ordered the pork neck steak. Both were incredible. The sole was cooked to absolute perfection with the bones pulling away effortlessly, and every single bite was mouthwatering. I stole a bite of my colleague's pork neck too, and it was just as good. It's rare to find a restaurant that genuinely restores your faith in a city's food scene, but this place did exactly that. Andrew Edmunds is proof that incredible food does exist in London apparently you just have to know where to look. 11 out of 10. Cannot recommend enough. Bravo Andrew Edmunds.

They're open for Sunday dinner (a rarity in London), and I was thrilled to try to after learning more about it. Considered one of the most romantic restaurants in London, Andrew Edmunds is located in an 18th century Georgian townhome and has been open since 1986. They serve Modern European food in a beautiful, intimate, and romantic yet comfortable space. Their menu is handwritten and changes daily. We shared some Scottish scallops, a Caesar salad with duck confit, a skate wing, a bowl of pasta, a panna cotta, and a bottle of Grüner Veltliner. Other than the pasta (the ricotta in place of a sauce didn't work for me - too grainy), everything was great. We'd never had duck confit on a Caesar before, and now I'm afraid I'll hear "I wish this Caesar had some duck confit on it" from my husband every time we order one. The Scottish scallops were beautifully cooked. The skate wing was delicious and also perfectly cooked. The panna cotta was textbook, delicious, and a great way to end the meal. Their wine offerings are great, and the Grüner was perfect. I'm glad the last dinner of our London trip was at Andrew Edmunds. It was delicious, romantic, and memorable. A great option for dinner in Soho.
