New paint in the children's waiting area

I just wanted to give an update since I have now been to Car Guy several times since my first oil change visits. The customer service is great! On one visit, my 2009 VW Routan (yes, I drive a minivan) started smoking at a light on a Sunday just an hour before Car Guy was closing. I called them up and they said they would come back to accept my vehicle if they were closed when the tow truck arrived. The owner was very accommodating and let me keep my vehicle locked up behind her gate (guarded by a big dog and behind barbed wire because, yes, this is a sketchy part of town). After looking at my vehicle, they told me it was a hose that needed replacing. Unfortunately, the entire radiator had to be removed to access it and replace it. However, they are really fair there with their labor prices. So, it was not as bad a repair bill as it would have been elsewhere. I have also had my door locks fixed after the driver's side door lock stopped working. My parents even got a much lower quote on an a/c issue for their truck. Sure, this place is not in the suburbs. Does it really need to be? As long as my car gets fixed without being raked over the coals, I am fine with it. As far as the recent 1 star reviews, I recommend reading the owner responses to those. It seems in both cases the reviews are not a fair reflection of the actual work and service provided by the business. I drive to Car Guy all the way from Ahwatukee Foothills to get my car repaired and for all my oil changes. Doesn't that say something about this business? It should! Go there with confidence (unless you are a wuss who cannot handle being in Chandler in the daylight).

Stopped in today for an oil change.... was pleasantly surprised at the Waiting Area....nice and dim, since there was enough window light, comfortable leather couch and a nice sized tv. A LOT different than the usual flourescent lights, cheap chairs and 9 inch tv that most shops offer.... The two chaps I encountered....one was the owner...were both really friendly and chatty! Mom is also an employee...can see where he got his kindness and gift of gab from! I very much appreciated that he told me he printed up a list of Sugested Fluid Flushes....THEN just simply handed it to me!! Didn't try to sell it to me or pressure me to opt for it!! Chatted with me about the security of their shop, should I need to leave my vehicle for service. It was refreshing to encounter such kind, honest service. I will definitely be back...should the unfortunate need arise for service, Car Guy will most definitely be my first thought for the shop! Thank you, Car Guy!!

Great work and attention to detail. My Mustang had an engine failure and the work done here turned an ordinarily bad situation into a positive. Now my Mustang absolutely rips. Not to mention the careful placement of every hose and wire which I can't imagine as a simple task. Looks better than factory under the hood.

Long tube headers and h pipe installed by car guy. Perfect job!

I just picked up my 14 Mustang GT from Gene at Car Guy LLC. They installed a set of longtube headers and H-pipe that i failed to do in my garage on jack stands. When i called Gene i let him know that in the last 20 years of working on and building my own cars, that this was the first time i was paying a shop to touch my car and that i was very nervous about the whole situation. Gene assured me that my car and parts were in good hands, and that he really appreciates the opportunity. I dropped the car off on monday night. Gene and his team worked on the car all day tuesday, wed morning they called me to let me know it was ready to be picked up. Gene had excellent communication the entire time. When i arrived to pickup the car Gene was nice enough to let me see under the car and inspect the work performed. I was very happy to see that they put in the same attention to detail i would have put in if i were able to do this job myself. No stripped bolts, no misaligned flanges, all wiring was nice and neat. Everything looked as it did from the factory except for the addition of the headers and H pipe. They even performed an idle relearn and a heat cycle before i arrived to ensure everything was perfect. I would not hesitate to refer Car Guy LLC to anyone, and i plan to use them again in the future for my flywheel/clutch install. Very friendly group of people over there that make you feel like you are surrounded by friends.

Good thing they noticed my filters had holes in it.. As if an animal was chewing on it..and it was extremely dirty.. Gross

The technician fixed our oil leak plus replaced parts affected by the oil leak in a timely fashion. At a reasonable price.

I first took my vehicle to another service center. They charged me hundreds of dollars for a diagnostic and kept my car for two full days, even though I had an appointment and was told it would be quick. After all that, they simply told me, "Yep, it's the transmission," and quoted me over $8,000 for the replacement and a few hundred more for diagnostics and fees. That was absolutely not happening - especially with how expensive everything is these days. After calling five other places in the Chandler area, I reached Arizona Reliable Transmission. I explained what was going on and that I likely needed a new or remanufactured CVT. Based on the information I gave them, they quoted me a fair price right away, and I accepted. They asked if the car was drivable. I told them I was unsure I had only driven it very short distance after the main issue happened also their location is quite a way from the other shop. Without hesitation, they said they would send their tow driver to pick it up, bring it to their shop, and inspect it - at no extra cost. They explained that they will offer this as a courtesy for my situation. Truly great guys to work with they made it a very easy process! They also took a moment and inspected my brakes as they noticed the wear on them and offered to do a discounted add on for replacement on those and rotors as well, however I am currently tapped out on car repair funds so I had to decline the offer and do that myself but the fact that they took the time and had the care to send me photos un-prompted to notify me of the need to be replaced that was an added touch that sets them apart. (The other shop I had gone to first which starts with a G and ends with a CH told me my brakes and rotors that were grinding and a little squeeky were great no need for replacement... they made sure not to add that onto any invoice though because of liability as I tried to dispute with BBB and their parent company found a work around on that...) They got my car fixed up, and I have no complaints so far. It's been about two weeks, and I'm going in for my transmission checkup this weekend. I was even given a 3-year warranty on the parts they replaced - as of now, I can confidently say that for me as of now the best transmission shop in Chandler is Arizona Reliable Transmission!

We started having some loss of power issues (no check engine light) in Southern Utah and with no shops open, we limped it to our destination in Gilbert, AZ. Took our rig (2000 Ford Excursion w/ V-10) to Sunland Auto and Randy was who took my information and such. They diagnosed the issue to being a bad catalytic converter. They called, informed me of the problem and the cost of repair, I gulped (those suckers are expensive, I know, but still hurts) and said do what needs to be done. Super quick version - That catalytic converter went bad while in California, was told it would be covered under warranty, it wasn't due to sublet being used for initial repair, Sunland Auto (Scott) reimbursed me still. Thank you, Randy and Scott, for working with me and taking care of my family the way you did. Not so quick version - Sunland Auto got it replaced (and checked and recharged my A/C system per my request) and I got the rig back. All went well; we then went to Southern California for leg two of our trip and the rig ran well all the way there. While in CA, I was leaving to go to church and noticed something was off and limped the rig back around the block. Got it into a shop the next day. Long story short there, the catalytic converter was bad. Seems unlikely to get a defective one, but the rig was running well, had different shops look at it and none noticed anything mechanical going on to think the rig was destroying the catalytic converter that quickly. I called Randy at Sunland Auto and explained the situation, prior to taking it to another shop. He was sorry to hear I was having car troubles and let me know if it is in fact the catalytic converter, that Sunland Auto is part of a nationwide warranty program and it would be covered, so to take it to a shop, get it diagnosed, and circle back. So, once it was diagnosed to be the catalytic converter, I worked with Randy on next steps. He told me there were some shops in network with the warranty provider, but that ended up not working out as one was backed up a couple of days and the other seemed uncertain about the warranty claims system (person behind the desk said the owner deals with that). So, I end up calling the nationwide warranty provider for some insight, they give me a couple more shops (most won't be of help, jiffy lube, body shops, etc.) and also tell me I can go out of network, I would just need to submit the claim myself. I decided to go that route as we needed to get back on the road to head home to Montana. We get a new catalytic converter and make it home. I work on the warranty claim. I get informed that because a sublet was used to do the repair, there is no warranty. I at first understood this to be that I used a shop that was disqualified and was disappointed. I call Randy, explain the situation to him and he collects information from me, who I spoke with, etc., and get clarification for himself. He gets back to me and says he also must have been misinformed about the use of sublets. He asks me to send him the invoices of the shops I had do the work in CA and he would send the situation to the owner (Scott I believe is the owner). While I wait a few days, I reread the email from the nationwide warranty and realize the reason they will not honor it is because Sunland Auto used a sublet to do the catalytic converter replacement, therefore the was no warranty. Now I understood that situation better. I reach out to Randy via email, forwarding him my conversation with the nationwide warranty rep and share my new realized understanding and ask if this is the situation. Randy forwarded my email to Scott, and Scott reached out asking me to call him so we can work out me getting reimbursed. We got it worked out and I was reimbursed for the charge of having the catalytic converter replaced by Sunland Auto. It wasn't as smooth as one would hope, but I am grateful that Sunland Auto cared enough about me, someone that was an out-of-state visitor, to still be willing to honor their work and reputation and reimburse me for the charged amount since it could not be done via warranty. I appreciate that Randy took time to work with me, because I know the shop is a very busy shop, and for good reason. Thank you again Randy for being available to answer my questions and concerns, and working on making sure I was taken care of, and to Scott for getting me taken care of.

This place sets an example for all businesses to follow, Truly amazed by the customer service…read more Nadira was very prompt and accurate when providing my quote and communications during the repair process. Service was a in house rebuild on a 2006 F150 transmission. Mike takes care of the rebuilds and his expertise shows. Oh I guess now is a good time to mention that this vehicle has 439,000 plus miles on it. And the transmission had never been touched as far as repairs, just fluid and filter changes when I remembered they were due. They stand behind the work and do understand the customers needs. Had a slight issue after picking the truck up that was promptly addressed even though it was actually not related to the rebuild. My shift cable was so old that it would not retain adjustment. It was 20 years old at least. Mike found the issue and actually walked me out so I could see what was happening. Part was ordered, wrong part was shipped over to there shop twice due to it not matching the vin number. When they found the part number after removal. Nadira actually ran and picked it up to help expedite the repair. Mike took care of the labor to install and I just paid for the cable. They didn't have to do this, this was above and beyond since this was not related to the actual work preformed or quoted. Transmission has about 350 miles on it now and wow its working way better than I could have dreamed of shifts are on point and smoother than I would have ever dreamed off. Way to go, This shop is on my highly recommend list and I will be taking all my business here if the need ever arises. Shop has my vote for business of the year, way to go to the whole crew involved.
