Being from the area, I cannot believe I have never heard of this place before. I put it on my short list of places to try, and one day when out in the Monroeville area, I was finally able to stop. Like I said, the concept is simple. This place serves pizza. There is one size, and some toppings to choose from. At the time of writing this, pizzas are $8 and it is cash only. The price includes any toppings you want to put on. They are open Thursday through Sunday from 4 until 7:30. Orders are placed over the phone, and then picked up through the side/basement door of a normal residential house. We placed an order for three pizzas, and they were to be ready for pickup in about 30 minutes. We got one Pepperoni, one Mushroom and Onion, and one with Sausage and Extra Cheese. When we arrived, there was another person picking up, but our pies were hot and ready. The ladies working were quick and kind. The pizzas are truly so good! The crust is not too thick or too thin, and the sauce is a sweeter one. All of the pies we got we liked, but the sausage was a true winner for us personally. One pizza could easily feed two or three people, and they are cut into 8 slices. I cannot wait to have this place again. The pizza was great, the ambiance and entire operation give off everything that classic Pittsburgh is about - no frills, but a great product. Plus, you cannot beat the value. Will definitely be back soon!

Caliente is becoming a Pittsburgh staple.. with shops in most local sports stadiums and such. They have great promos and always keep up with the latest trends. This store has great staff. Even when they got hosed by the corporate mandate to use third party delivery drivers, the local staff refunded, refired, and even made corporate send me a gift card. I grabbed the Chicken Ranchero Medium Pizza and the Pep-Tastic Cheesinator. Both were phenomenal. Great spread of quality toppings. Delicious crust. I would honestly consider getting more of the cheesinators. It was only $12 while the medium pizza was $22... meanwhile the cheesinator was the same size, if not bigger. Like I said, never order delivery from here... go in, talk to the local staff, and enjoy some delicious food

Third: toppings are not methodically distributed like Dominoes: so the plus side is you often get "more" ... just because there's 10 pieces of pepperoni on one slice and four on another is part of the fun!! Shelly's never gets enough credit because Turtle Creek is off the beaten 'burgh.... Let's support this great iconic Pittsburgh restaurant!!!! They have a really good selection of Spaghetti and other pasta dishes. Their beer selection is good for a place that does not specialize in beer selection. They have a good mix of craft beers mixed with more popular brands. What I particularly like about this place is that every time I go there it is very friendly. Even the tone of the friendliness changes depending on the day of the week. I recently went there on a weekday after work and most people there knew each other, but it was more of a calm and relaxing environment then when I went there on a Saturday evening. Many of the people in there seem to know each other, but if you are new, it is still very welcoming. Bartenders will bring you into the conversation that they are having with other people there who are clearly regulars. you can tell how homey it is because on a recent visit there I heard two people who were leaving, but said "I'll be back" meaning they were coming back later that day. Everybody appeared to be having a good time, but nobody was drunk or obnoxious. They also have several video roulette games there and the games are large enough that you can actually watch people play. That is actually much more fun that I would have expected. General impression is that this is a very friendly place with good food and consistency in terms of being enjoyable experiences.

That first delicious bite takes you back to the days of your swimming WPIAL practices as a celebration dinner before the big day. The late night greasy fix after the school dance with your friends while playing the pac man table top game. (I wish Fellini's had one of those!) The steak hoagie is by far the better of the steak hoagies that I've had recently. It's seasoned well and they actually put the mayo on the hoagie! It starts to liquify and just soaks all through the sandwich the way it should! The provolone sticks are incredible! I don't know if they're homemade, but they sure taste it. And the breadsticks! The breadsticks are just leftover dough covered in delicious butter garlic sauce. PERFECTION! I could just sit in Fellini's all day smelling the wonderful smells and talking about growing up in the 90's.
