Wow! Simply some of the best pizza in the area. I love me some pizza, if we lived closer this would be the weekly answer of what's for dinner. First we ordered the garlic knots. So much to say. Actually should be called garlic loaves. They are delicious, with no shortage of garlic, butter and parm. Delicious. Second the pizza was better than it looks and it looked delicious. The pizza is not shrinking like most places and they believe in toppings. We got: 1. EBUT large 2. Spinach and Tomato large 3. BBQ Chicken large 4. Pepperoni large We could have feed 18 people. I want to address some of the negative reviews: I've eaten at Shelly's at least fifty times. It's a style of pizza you will probably only find in Pittsburgh... so choose NOT to compare it to "what you're used to"... second: tell them "how you like your pizza" (underdone, done just right, well-done)... they will oblige! This is a small business and YELP reviews make a difference. Be kind if the pizza isn't what you've "expected" Again, you won't find this style outside of the Pittsburgh area... understand your icons! Third: toppings are not methodically distributed like Dominoes: so the plus side is you often get "more" ... just because there's 10 pieces of pepperoni on one slice and four on another is part of the fun!! Shelly's never gets enough credit because Turtle Creek is off the beaten 'burgh.... Let's support this great iconic Pittsburgh restaurant!!!! One of my biggest regrets moving away from Pittsburgh is moving away from the greatest hidden pizza gems in America... yes I love Pepe's and John's of Bleecker, I love Malnatis and Gino's East... but you can take a Pittsburgh Pizza boy out of the city... you just can't take Pittsburgh Pizza outta the boy! read more

Everything was delicious! We tried pizza with sausage, Reuben sandwich, and white pizza with spinach & tomatoes. It was the best red sauce I've ever had. It had a slight hint of sweetness but not too much. I usually don't even like red sauce pizza. The sausage was spicy and big clumps of it! The Reuben was saucy and delicious. Great service from Tabby and the pizza was good....but overcooked. I got a carry out Sicilian for my in-laws and they were very unhappy with how burnt the crust was. I will treat this as a bad day for the pizza chef, because they get it right 99% of the time....but not Thursday. read more

Service: 5-star! Attentive, patient, and welcoming! Fast and accurate service. Restaurant: 4.5 Outside building doesnt look like a restaurant but as soon as you walk through the door in the front, it's a very intimate and warm atmosphere. There is a bar area inside and TVs on the wall if you want to watch college football. Food: 4.5 - LOTS of toppings on the pizza, wedding soup was good. The half point deduction went to flavor. The crust was soft, fresh and doughy but didn't have any distinctive flavor profile. I'm not easily overwhelmed but their pies, especially the EBUT (their supreme) overwhelmed me with the amount of toppings. The Buffalo chicken pizza could've used some garlic/a bit more kick but loved that their pizza isn't dry. LOTS of cheese...more than Mineo's if you thought Mineo's was over the top... BTW, I highly recommend heating their leftover pizza up in a frying pan--the bottom of the pizza gets crispy while the generous toppings are warm/heated/provides flavor. read more

So as I said, in my other post that I judge a place by whether or NOT my dollars and feet will return, and as I said, my dollars and feet would be back to Shelley Park. I came this evening with a party of eight and they had more than ample space. Our waitstaff, a young lady named tabby was excellent! She took everyone's order with surgical precision, nothing was wrong. Everything came out piping hot, and it was excellent. The food met AND exceeded everyone's expectations and like I said the waitstaff was great. One of the people in my party had another pizza and Isaiah knocked it OUT-OF-THE-PARK AGAIN!! two times in a row kudos Isaiah Kudos. The ambiance was great, they have multiple T. V's with a variety of programming that should appeal to mostly every personality. The playlist was very eclectic and had me tapping my toes. . Like I said last time, I want to compliment the management because the management here have empowered. The staff to be in a word...... Phenomenal. I have been to Shelly Pie several times and it never disappoints. Ive tried several items on the menu but you really cannot beat their pizza. The dough is AMAZING. My favorite pie is buffalo chicken. I typically order a mini. Any of the other sizes are huge. They do have a kids menu available. If you go on the weekend it can be tough to get a table. Trust me it's worth the wait! Pizza is their specialty. You won't be disappointed. Lots of other Italian entrees including pasta to satisfy other tastes. On 3-21-26 first time experience. I really enjoyed the pizza. It was filling and the cheese was good. Would go again. Down side: There was burnt pieces of cheese which was probably left in the oven on my pizza and in the box. Which appear that the oven was not cleaned prior to putting my pizza in oven. read more

You either hate Shelly's Pizza or love it! I love it! It's doughy and perfect amount of carbs on carbs and a small pizza will take you a long way after a night out. I love the prices as they're affordable, the people are nice and treat you like they care about the brand, and the diner feel makes you feel like you're welcomed. Stop 12 with pizza passport and first time here. Heard the story of the connections to Vincent's and eager to try. Staff very friendly. My slice of pepperoni was large. The dough was thick and slightly floppy and doughy. Heavy layer of cheese and very little layer of sauce. Katie, our waitress was phenomenal. She was kind, attentive and incredibly helpful throughout our meal. Our food arrived hot and without any delays, which made the experience even better. Katie also took the time to help us sign up for a keychain for future specials. As we were leaving, we dropped the keychain, and she ran after us to return it, which really showed how much she cares about her customers. The pizza was very filling and distinctly Shelly's. 4 of the large pies fed a huge group. We appreciated the space and the ample amount of seating for our group. I'd heard of Shelly Pie and wanted to try it for a while. So when my parents mentioned their plans of going to Shelly's for lunch I quickly invited myself and my 6 month old son to join them. We ordered a medium pepperoni, mushroom and sautéed banana pepper, and a small buffalo chicken pizza. The look of the pizza was very intriguing. I love a thick crust, and this has just that the toppings were generous and fresh. The dough was perfectly crisp but chewy. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It was a lot of food, so we took the left overs home for my husband to try. Heated up, the pizza remains very delicious. I've eaten at the restaurant and I've ordered takeout. This time I used Door Dash. I commented to the driver that it arrived much sooner than I expected. It arrived RAW. That's why it was delivered so fast. I ordered a large pizza, half plain and half mushroom and onion. The pizza was really undercooked. The plain side was edible because the crust was so thin that it cooked through. However, the half with the veggie topping was raw; inedible in fact. I have read other reviews that are very positive. However we tried both types of potato skins during our two visits (pizza skins and normal) and they are just not good. Bland flavor and strange texture. But that's the only negative really.
