Don't EVER order delivery from this store. I wouldn't give 4 (probably not even 2) if I was considering delivery experiences from here. Caliente is becoming a Pittsburgh staple.. with shops in most local sports stadiums and such. They have great promos and always keep up with the latest trends. This store has great staff. Very attentive. Dedicated spot at the bar for takeout orders. Even when they got hosed by the corporate mandate to use third party delivery drivers, the local staff refunded, refired, and even made corporate send me a gift card. I grabbed the Chicken Ranchero Medium Pizza and the Pep-Tastic Cheesinator. Both were phenomenal. Great spread of quality toppings. Delicious crust. I would honestly consider getting more of the cheesinators. It was only $12 while the medium pizza was $22... meanwhile the cheesinator was the same size, if not bigger. Picked a pepperoni Brooklyn up for dinner on Sunday. We enjoy this pizza. Sundays the pizza is $7 off but dine in only, we were out of town all weekend so we just paid regular price and took it home. The pizza was hot and ready when we arrived. I was waiting on immediately upon walking in. The dining room wasn't very full but it was Memorial Day weekend. Traveling for business in Pennsylvania. Multiple sites said this was the best pizza in the area. I would agree. I had a great experience and found the pizza to be exactly what I was looking for. Ordered 2 mediums. Which were more like slightly large smalls. About 12 inches across. A white with chicken and a regular pepperoni. Pepperoni- Under sauced, barely any pepperoni and slightly dried out. White- No chicken except a couple crumbling dried out pieces I'm guessing scrapped from the bottom of a 6-pan. A few super thin soggy tomato slices and barely any cheese. Neither pizza has any flavor at all. The red sauce was bland and I couldn't taste the olive oil or garlic on the white at all. And to top it off it was 50 bucks for these shit pizzas. This place makes pizza hut look good. And the local news that suggested this place, I won't be trusting again. Absolutely terrible service here from the bartender, if you can even consider these people that. Got there on an empty Friday night looking to get some pizza and maybe a drink. Bartender just ignored me for 15-20 minutes. The crazy part, other people walked in and they were served right away! From the couple times I've been here, I knew the service was poor. We had a good experience eating here with my family and parents. We ordered a couple of different pies. (White, bacon topped). We also ordered buffalo chicken breadsticks. Everything was good. My wife ordered a Chicken salad that she enjoyed. The atmosphere is small but updated. There is a nice bar and lots of TV's. The service was pretty good as well. So, we visited this place twice. The first time I ordered a pep pizza with bacon. It was really good and hit the spot. The crispy bacon was on point and much better than I have seen at many other pizza spots. Then I came back to get the same pizza again. This time the pizza was not as good and the bacon was now thickly sliced ham that they tried to pass off as bacon. I did let the waitress know that it wasn't bacon to which I received the excuse that their bacon is thick cut. The problem with that is bacon and ham are completely different cuts of pork. It doesn't matter how thickly you slice bacon, it never becomes a ham cut. So they tried to make it right but frying up some more ham and telling me that it was bacon........ again.... I'm shocked and scratching my head, like why??????? I let them know again that frying ham does not turn it into bacon. So they didn't charge me for the "bacon" (nice job, y'all did the right thing there!) I don't know about the rest of you, but I always appreciate honesty. If you're a restaurant that is out of a topping, be honest. Don't try to trick me, because it won't work ;) All in all, Caliente's has potential, but they need someone with a deep desire for consistency to be running the kitchen. So, my daughter Muff and I were starving last Friday and I had absolutely no plans to make dinner. Besides, even I did plan to make dinner, I'm not great at making pizza crust from scratch. (I only say that because we both wanted pizza and even if I tried, I could never beat a professional pizza parlor's pizza.) Anyway, I recently read an article discussing Caliente and noticed that there was a Caliente near me. Yay me! Off I went to the nearest Caliente. I ordered one of their "Lent Specials"...The Spinach and Shrimp Pie. It came with the Chef's chive infused garlic butter, fresh gulf shrimp, tomatoes, onions, spinach, mozzarella, ricotta and provolone cheeses. I also had mushrooms added to the pizza. In addition, I also ordered the "Mardi Gras" wet sauce wings and the "Chef's Rub" dry rub wings. The taste of the pizza was spot-on! All of the ingredients from the Lenten Spinach and Shrimp pizza melded together well. My only complaint is that the pizza crust intruded a little too much on the pizza toppings. (By the way, I am a crust lover.) However, with this pizza, the toppings were just a little too sparse. With regards to the wings and fries, I didn't even have to give special instructions on how to cook my wings (I hate gummy flaccid skin wings. I like my wings on the crispy skin side.) Chubby Chasers Unite!! I was right at home - it's not a fitness club. Delicious food, Cool Bartenders- Jen was Awesome and knows her beer! Jason also a great personality and both Thick Awesome People!! A good variety of Pizza-Like food: Quack Attack is UNBELIEVABLE- Outstanding and Delicious. I had a dinner salad to start- very good bitter greens, homemade dressings - I had the Italian and was the Best! Somewhat friendly crowd - 3 Uber Beasts sitting to my left. The small guy said Will an entire XXXL pizza be enough Lol. My only con/question is the date on when the IPA's were made. Pizza is pretty good, I prefer the thin crust Brooklyn. Based on the pizza alone I would have rated them a 4 star...however service is important, many times it can be the deal maker or breaker for me. In this case I deducted 1 star for poor service. Our service was extremely slow, many customers who came in long after us left way before us. This was the second visit we were not offered refills at any time throughout our dinner and could not find our waitress to request them. This last time, we ordered 3 orders of 10 wings, all sauce on side, all with Bleu and Ranch. The website said orders of 10 were $8.99 Our receipt showed that each order of 10 was actually $17, which I understand maybe not being able to update your website, but that is a HUGE difference. And on top of that, We received: One order with the sauce on it and no dippers One order with only ranch One order with only bleu And the orders that actually came with the sauce kn the side, it didn't matter, because the cups all broke and spilled everywhere. One of my favorite pizza places. Their pizzas are somewhat inconsistent in quality-sometimes it's missing toppings, sometimes it's cold. I know the pandemic probably is the reason for some of these inconsistencies. But when it's good, its REALLY good. Topping combinations are great and plentiful. And the crust is amazing!
