Capulet venue

Beautiful event space with great food options. I attended a small concert and really enjoyed the space.

Fried chicken sandwich and fries
Stephanie M.

Was looking for gluten free options and this place came up. I'm not used to being able to order fried chicken and French fries. That's exactly what I was able to order. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This place was not very busy on a Wednesday night. There was live music and a small crowd. Overall, definitely worth trying out.

Capulet is a wonderful place to hang out and grab a cocktail and some bites on Mon-Thurs. I wish this place was open on Weekends, but they host private parties/banquets Fri-Sun. I came on a Thursday night with a friend and listened to some delightful live music. I ordered the Cucamonga which was so good I had to get another. For small bites, I tried the Broccoli Falafel and Fries which were both delicious. You order online through a QR code on the table as opposed to having a waiter or waitress. Overall, I had a great experience here and I would highly recommend it!

Soup - simply amazing!

This was my 3rd time eating at Capulet and I was not disappointed! I will start my review by saying, "Go eat, drink and just chill here!" I started my dining experience with the minty-tini, which was simply incredible. The mint and chocolate were obvious, yet not overpowering. I savored every sip! Then I moved on to the soup of the evening which was fantastic from the aroma to every bite - sweet corn, celery, onion, etc. - just a big bowl of deliciousness! Next up was the fried chicken sandwich, OF COURSE! This is my go to, must have, unashamed addiction! This sandwich is always amazing, and tonight was no exception. I paired the sandwich with the fries which were awesome!

Live music. Unexpected legends.

It's great for music since there's no TV's but the service is ....horrible. I waited almost 1.5 hours for an order of Brussels sprouts. It never showed up even after I asked 2 servers and the bartender. After I waiting an additional 35 minutes to have the item removed from my bill it never happened. Very disappointing. Ended up leaving and eating the cost of all of that. Not sure if management even cares. We come for the music and maybe we need to keep it at that. Eat before or after. Tired of wasting money here.

Food was good. Vibe was weird. Great happy hour 4-6. $2 high life...in the city? Can't beat it!

Been to Capulet many times on Tuesday nights for music. The venue is a great space for events like wedding receptions and they use it as a bar and music venue when not rented out. The food here is a little strange to say the least. The strange combinations on the menu are good even though I mostly stick to their great French fries. They have a rooftop space as well that is not used that often but should be.

This place has been on my radar for a while due to its vegetarian forward menu. Finally made it happy hour to take advantage of their reduced price drinks and food. Like it so much we decided to order likely half the menu to take home to eat later. The staff was super friendly and they have a barcode system which you can order from your table and it comes right out. I can't believe it's taken me this long but I'll be back to try out the free musical acts (Tuesday-Thursday) and drag bingo/trivia (Monday). On the weekends it's only Open for special events . So come during the week take advantage of the exceptional food at a super reasonable price. Well done!

Beet It Margarita

Had the best time here! It is a wonderful space with a rooftop area. This space is also available for rent for events. We came in and sat wherever we wanted. The band was setting up while we arrived. They usually have music starting at 6 PM or some type of entertainment. We started off with some refreshing cocktails. I love the Beet It Margarita. It was unique yet yummy. We also had Best Fronds too. I think that's the drink's name. It was so good. It was like a pina colada but 10000 times better. We got some apps like the crab cakes, broccoli and fried cauliflower. DO NOT SKIP ON THE CRAB CAKES. So amazing. I'm not a big fan of crabs but these are lightly fried with a fresh citrus salad. Did I mention that half of the menu is gluten and vegan friendly?? Entrees were up and we did the fried chicken sandwich, kale salad and the kim chi melt. My fave was the fried chicken sandwich which can be served on a gluten free bun. I mean yall it's bananas how good this was. 10/10 would come again!

Yet another welcome addition to the neighborhood. How good is a place if, before you leave the place you are already anticipating your next visit? That was my experience with Capulet. I went there to pick up lunch to go. I had the Kimchi BLT with a side of broccoli falafel. The Kimchi BLT was so simple but so flavorful. The broccoli falafel was also great. First, the staff described this dish so simply and perfectly; all the falafel flavor with a very different texture. The outside texture is crisp but the inside is soft. I want to call it like a broccoli mash as it is similar to what might be inside a popper. The accompanying basil lime cashew cream just took it to the next level cutting the grease from the fry as well as the inside's thick mash texture. Just.so.good. I am definitely interested in trying some other dishes but the cocktails really had me intrigued as well. Plus it just seems like a great place to hang out. The staff is young and excited about being there. The space gets great light and has multiple seating options (bar, table, and couches). When I visited they were only open til 3pm but there was word they may start experimenting with one night being open til 7. Oh and this space is available to rent and seems like an awesome place for birthdays, showers, as well as upcoming corporate holiday events. So, check them out and let me know if you come up with a better description of the inside of the broccoli falafel.

Fried tofu GF sandwich

My husband and I have Celiac Disease and we're vegetarians. We visited Capulet three days in a row on our trip to New Orleans and would've kept coming back if they were open on weekends. The staff is so informed on allergies and kind and welcoming. It was amazing (and sadly rare) to have unique and delicious food prepared safely. We enjoyed the fried tofu and kimchi sandwiches, the brussel sprouts, and more. We also enjoyed great drinks and safe GF fries during happy hour. We can't wait to return on our next trip to New Orleans.

Half tofu sandwich, half black bean burger. Sharing is caring.

On a previous trip we had seen an evening show at Snug Harbor and wanted to experience something else. We had read good things about the Spotted Cat and their sets run all afternoon. We were a little confused about price because one of our guidebooks said there is no cover but you're supposed to order drinks. There was a doorman who charged us something like $5 each (still cheap!) and we ordered beer and a N/A drink at the bar and listened to a great jazz group playing old-time jazz. Interior is tiny and you're pretty close to the performers. We were standing at first but eventually found some seats as people left. There is even a back courtyard if you want to be outside, although I don't know if you can hear the music or not. We bought a CD from the band and enjoyed it when we got back home. While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!
