I visited this establishment again recently and another 5/5. Food was hot fresh and delicious. The service was even better the manager was extremely polite she made me want to come back and spend more. The ambiance was clean well kept and attended to. My daughter and I found ourselves in Rustin LA and decided to try the Captain Ds for dinner. We try to eat at Captain Ds every chance we get because the Mobile AL restaurants are not managed well and are not in the best parts of town. When we entered the Ruston store we were greeted very professionally by Natasha and it just kept getting better. This young lady did a wonderful job, she assisted us in ordering, she repeated our order back to us and we paid and sat down and this awesome employee brought us our food and asked us if we needed condiments and then brought those to the table as well. All I can say is her "go above and beyond" attitude was wonderful to experience and it made our dinner very nice. It was a restaurant vibe in a fast food venue.All of these good vibes because Natasha conducted her customer service well. Like I said, I have been to fast food restaurants all over the world and this was the best experience I have ever had... I hope Natasha is given the opportunity to further enhance your company in positive ways. She would be one of the best investments Captain Ds could ever make! read more

Biased review ahead: Captain D's has been one of my favorite cheap go to restaurants for over 20 years. They are an automatic 5 star to me. Where I currently live there isn't a Captain D's so I was happy to stop by here on a road trip. The food tasted as great as usual. I have been eating Captain D's since the late 90s and as I travel I often try other areas with the same restaurants . Well Ruston Louisiana this one is on you for the Captain D's at the exit 85 from Interstate 20 east . I stopped there to grab something quick after finally getting checked in at the Hampton In . Well remind you that I'm driving a hot shot truck which consists of a dually and a 40ft trailer so me in well need of some exercise decided to walk so I walked maybe a good quarter mile from the hotel . The order was taken quick ,the host and staff were very polite ,the restaurant was very bright lighted clean and modern . The order was up before I could even sit down good to wait , which at that point I was really impressed to think I had 2 beautiful golden brown fish fillets , 2 nice size chicken tenders fresh hush puppies and crunchy friend shrimp ( supreme sampler ) well this is what I got after a very aggressive walk back to the hotel . Get in my room hit the hot shower and get out to warm my food and enjoy it . Talk about a let down . Chicken tenders are dried out and old probably from earlier the fish is horrible like it was stuck to the frier and very brittle . The were OK but tasted of a burnt grease taste smh . Captain D's - I didn't know what to expect when I saw you are technically a "seafood restaurant." But don't think of the Red Lobster or Bonefish Grill sort, instead think more like Long John Silvers or Snappers. Yes- that means LOTS of fried seafood. But at unbeatable fastfood prices. $2.99 lunch specials sounds good to me. We opted for the Seafood Feast which we got a coupon in the the mail for, highly NOT recommended unless you really have a family to feed because it fed us for the entire weekend until we were so sick of it, it will be a long time til we go back. The best things to order: premium shrimp, deviled stuffed crabs, hush puppies, fried okra, mac n cheese, and of course, don't go without the homemade sweet tea. read more

Driving back to Texas from Virginia, I was hungry for a protein other than beef or chicken. Saw the sign for Captain D's and decided to give them a try. So glad we did! Catfish filet was wonderful - fried to perfection; HUGE; and very well-seasoned. Staff was very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely stop again! read more

Way overpriced. Not high quality seafood, and should drop prices. Food usually comes out greasy. Location is very slow. They take forever to give you food. People in front of you can get it in a minute, but you'll have to wait 10-15. read more

I have an old connection with Captain D's. I have been going there for about 20 years. I love there tarter sauce. It is the key to the craving. I remember when I always received sauce with fish & was even asked by the cashier if I would like extra. The past three times I've been to Captain D's I've received no sauce whatsoever. It made me so mad I bought some at the grocery store to keep in the fridge but it is not the same. It's like being shot in the heart to drive 30 minutes home look in the bag & see no tarter sauce. I don't know what they put in the stuff but It made me want to drive back to the store and throw the food back through the drive through window. Super upset!!!! Curse you captain D's. You break my heart!!! I even asked the cashier last time & they said "it's in there"...... So terrible u should be ashamed! If I go back I may hold the place up for all of its tarter sauce!!!
