No shortcuts, no watered-down versions. Just straight, legit flavor. The owners are from Metairie, right off the north side of Lake Pontchartrain, and it shows in everything they put out. They've got both cooked and live crawfish, which matters if you actually know what a proper boil looks like. I have zero connection to this place. Found it by accident. I'll be back regularly. Cajun food sits just behind Korean for me, and this hit that nerve hard. Took me straight back to Lafourche Parish and my stepmother's cooking. That kind of food sticks with you. And yeah, it's in a gas station. Ignore that. If you know anything about New Orleans, some of the best po'boys you'll ever eat come out of spots just like that. Bottom line. I figured I'd find a menu full of fried food. Maybe an iceberg side salad thrown in to say they are vegetarian friendly. I was so wrong. Yes, there was greasy food - wings, burgers, fries but most of the menu was salads, seafood, wraps and entrees with a heavy Cajun influence. We started with the boom boom shrimp. Crispy with just the slightest hint of heat. Delicious. I had the chicken berry pecan salad. Big enough to share and quite good. My husband had the mango tuna bowl. Walk-On's knocked it out of the park on this one. Wow!! It was amazing! Service was great and the prices weren't bad considering the quality. There was a large drink list of beers and cocktails and plenty of TV's turned to the big game. We will definitely be back!

Both dishes came out at the same time vs appetizer first. Feedback for the dishes is pretty much the same for both. Definitely want more flavors on a cajun dish. There was no heat in the dish and overall spices were lacking. You must ask for a side of hot sauce with the meal. The catfish dish was topped with a seafood stuffing. The stuffing was doughy, lacked a crunchy exterior and I could not discern really any seafood in it. The servers were nice, just needed a bit more on the food execution.

The seasoning choice is next, I did the juicy (cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper). And finally choose the heat. I went medium and you could feel slight heat, a step up to hot would have been ok. The boil itself was good. You must use the gloves and bib, don't worry about cool points you are there to eat. The flavors of the juicy was great and all the seafood was seasoned nicely. The corn was excellent. And service was super fast. The portions are good, I know snow crab is a challenge to get the meat since the legs are thin. The flavor was good with a lot of work. Recommend the king crab.

The waitress recognized that we had a small kid and was very helpful with getting everything out as quick as she could. The mean green egg rolls were amazing! Now for the star reduction.... Cooking a steak right just doesn't happen here. The kitchen manager also seems clueless about how to cook a steak, when to take it off, and what a medium steak should even look like. I ordered my ribeye medium, it came out medium well to well done. They offered to make a new one, which came out purple..... Not even cooked all of the way through. So the waitress takes it back and a few minutes later she brings it back out. Same steak that I had already cut into. The steak was not only very try but again was very overcooked. It was medium well to well done yet again. And more or less she just said sorry about that and left the table. I paid almost $50 for a very dry and overcooked steak. And the reason why I haven't been there in close to over a year was this same issue multiple times before we decided to just go elsewhere. The place is well decorated. And for a Friday night there were maybe 4 tables sat.
