Stuffed crab
Monty H.

This little diner is great. Portions are large and prices are great, I was craving the stuffed crab but others who got catfish loved it. Wait staff makes you feel right at home.

Service was excellent, very accommodating, friendly waiting staff. Good food. Catfish was good, their shrimp popcorn was very good as well. Hush puppies are very underrrated. I'd get that again. Everything's fried. Fried catfish, fried shrimp, French fries, fried okra, fried AIR lol. J/k. Nah, I had the coleslaw. I got the big fillet catfish, I should've gotten the little fillets because i was getting full off the sides. Their Mac n cheese was alright, I liked their cake and cornbread.

"Medium rare" steak

I hate to rate one star when the service was great but I ordered a medium rare steak and I'll just let the photo do the talking.

Honey cake, soooooo good.

The way catfish is supposed to be done. If you are in the Huntsville area, this is a place for you. Local restaurant and atmosphere with that southern charm. The employees are super friendly with the type of service only found in the south. The honey cake was an extra treat at lunch and washed it down with a nice cold, sweet tea.

Love this place but NEVER get the Catfish to go. It is Always BEST in house. The Breakfast is Grandma's house just wish they had Chocolate Gravy!

Vegetable plate with whole kernel corn, black eyed peas, fried okra, and macaroni and cheese

We visited Little Libby's yesterday after wanting to try it out for a while. We found ourselves in the Madison area and figured why not give it a go! It was pretty busy for a Monday at around 12:15. We were seated quickly. It very much looks and feels like what it is: country cooking. Lots of Alabama and Auburn sports memorabilia on the walls, some wooden boards with funny sayings, the usual stuff you'd expect at a place like this. It seemed like everybody knew everybody, with multiple waitresses greeting customers by name, and many patrons stopping at the tables of others to catch up. That's always a neat experience. The service we received was friendly and professional. Generous, too. She let us choose if we wanted hush puppies, rolls, or cornbread for the table, and when we couldn't agree, she brought us a little of both of what we asked for. The hush puppies were crunchy and savory, and the rolls were warm and soft. The butter spread was the sort of sweet, oily, prepackaged kind. I opted for a vegetable plate, and my boyfriend got the 2 catfish fillet meal. The portion sizes are HUGE. Boyfriend is a big guy and easily would've been full off of one fillet. His dish came with fries, MORE hush puppies, slaw, and a slice of cake. We didn't realize dessert came with meals, but that was nice. He said the slaw was too sweet and mushy. The French fries were okay, very hot, not super crispy or salty. The catfish was good. Not the best he'd ever had (nor I), but crunchy, tender, and not particularly fishy tasting. His meal was pretty solid, worthy of maybe 3.5/5. Mine was a good bit more disappointing. I had fried okra, black eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and whole kernel corn. The corn was out of a can - no flavor except a vague saltiness. The macaroni and cheese was, if you can believe it, too cheesy. It tasted like straight velveeta, which may work for some people, but tasted overwhelmingly like fake cheese to me, which was a no. The black eyed peas were alright. A little over cooked, but the flavor was good. Fried okra was definitely the best dish. Again, not the best I've ever had, but fresh tasting, hot and crispy. The cake was just okay. It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. The icing was cloyingly sweet, but the cake was relatively moist, and the fact that it was free means I really can't complain too much, haha. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience here, but I likely wouldn't return due to the fact that there are similar, better places to visit.

Catfish dinner - large
Mike S.

Since it's in their name, I tried their catfish dinner. It was very very good. The pieces were large, moist and well seasoned. The sides and hush puppies were very good too.

Complimentary hush puppies when you sit down. The sweet tea was perfect. Not super sweet and good tea flavor

The catfish on different days can be hit or miss. Seasoned well or under seasoned. I really like the whole meal concept with dessert at end.

Our food was great as well. Zero complaints on what we ate that day. Orange juice was also very good. Most of the wait staff was wearing very tattered clothing and the worst offender was the bus boy. Although he was working his tail off, he looked like he hadn't showed in several days and hadn't washed his clothes in a week. His bus tub was disgusting. As he was cleaning the table beside us, he put the tub in the table top and as I turned my head to look over I lost my appetite seeing the condition of the tub. To know that he put it on top of the table made me even more disgusted. Not only was he bussing tables but he was also taking plates of food to tables. I, personally, would not have accepted food from him because it's very unlikely he washed his hands after cleaning tables off. Our waiter was nice but he looked very sloppy. I realize I'm not at a white table cloth restaurant but at least make sure the serve staff looks presentable. We won't be back.

I have never had any issues with the staff because they honestly show you how the southern charm is and you can tell that it comes naturally for them as well. I love the way the restaurant seating area is, very calm, clean, and simple...I know a,lot of people nowadays prefer the whole flashy, more expensive decor and feel, simply because somehow the world has changed into the idea and lifestyle of "enough is NEVER enough"l so if you love the old ways as much as I do then you have to go by Mia's Cafe, I promise you won't regret it. I've built a reputation as an extremely honest reviewer of anything and everything I have ever tried, from products to places and anything else in between. So I make a point to always say this at the end of every review I make to let everyone know that as a reviewer (some call me an influencer but ‍) I give exactly my truth about it and it's impossible to get me to do anything else. So you now know that everything I said above is absolutely my truth. Have a great day/night whichever it is when you are reading this review

This was Southern hospitality at its finest, wrapped in incredible food and genuine warmth from the moment our Forest Service and Alabama A&M team walked through the door. The owner and staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and hospitable to our group, treating us less like customers and more like honored guests. The owner personally sat with our team, walking us through the menu item by item, sharing stories, and offering recommendations on his favorite dishes. That personal touch set the tone for the whole lunch and made the meal feel both special and deeply personal. The food itself was soul-satisfying in every way. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite. The catfish was especially delicious as well, tender, flavorful, and cooked just right, embodying everything you hope for in classic country cooking. And the banana pudding was a standout, instantly transporting me to memories of dining in Savannah, with that rich, comforting, homemade taste you feel in your soul. From start to finish, everything about our visit to G's Country Kitchen was outstanding...the hospitality, the conversation, the food, and the feeling of being truly cared for.
