Off the beaten path restaurant with a good variety on the menu. My go to is either the chicken fingers or shrimp

My server was Janet and she went through the entire menu and was super friendly. Went on A Tuesday and it was already filling up at 5:30. Started with brisket fritters and had the burnt ends with gochujang peanuts and cucumber mint salad for the sides. I ordered a side of korean bbq to go with the fritters. Yummy, spicy sweet mix with the savory fritters was a nice combo. Definitely my Korean kick for bbq tonight. The gochujang was delicious on the peanuts, cucumber salad and peanuts. I the Korean bbq sauce went perfect with the burnt ends which were cooked perfect with a nice char. The only minor feedback was the fat could have been rendered a bit better. Great flavors, great service and great experience. My second 5 star in Huntsville, Nice Job!!! Thank You

It was a chilly night and they don't have a lobby so most patrons wait in their vehicles. Avoid being seated at the table closest to the door. The constant opening from people checking in created a horrible draft while eating. We loved most of our food except the smoked chicken. It was dry and lacked flavor. We'll go back and try some other items for sure. There was plenty of parking and our waitress was nice.

The moment I opened the door, that smoky aroma just wrapped around me like a warm hug from my late Aunt Marlene. I ordered the pulled pork platter, and oh my... that meat was so tender I swear it practically jumped onto my fork on its own. The sauce had just the right balance--sweet enough to make you smile, but with a little kick that reminded me I'm still alive and kicking too. And don't even get me started on the mac and cheese... so creamy it could make a grown man cry. If you're thinking about trying Pig Skin BBQ, stop thinking and go! I'm already planning my next visit, and I might even bring my bible study ladies--if I feel like sharing. LOL!

I found the parking lot a little hard to access (the way the roads cross in front of the restaurant is a little wonky) but once you're in it's a spacious lot. I was pleased to find you could actually smell the smoke from the parking lot. Usually a good sign. It's an order at the counter type of place. Not a ton of tables, but I'd say it feels much homier than a lot of other small bbq joints. I used the restroom after placing my order and found it immaculate. Great job! They have a fairly large menu but I went with a tried and true favorite of mine: a loaded pork potato. I had a large sweet tea to drink and also got a slice of chocolate pie to go for later at home. I thought the price was maybe a tiny bit high (~$17), but prices are high everywhere and then again the portion sizes were immense. The service really was lovely. The lady working at the register was just super warm and considerate. Southern hospitality, I suppose! She thoughtfully packaged my pie and was even kind enough to bring my order to me -- more than I expect at counter service places. I also watched her be exceptionally patient with an elderly couple who had a lot of questions/requests. On to the food itself. The pork potato was the best thing I ordered, which is good since it's a bbq place first and foremost! It was an absolutely MASSIVE stuffed potato -- bigger than even Lawlers. It comes with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, chives, and your bbq of choice (pork for me). I appreciate them adding the butter and sour cream rather than serving it on the side as some places do. I find it melts into the potato better that way. The pork was tender, not too fatty, and tasted good overall, but I do think it was missing a little smokiness. For me, the sweet tea wasn't quite sweet enough, but it was passable. The large size is absolutely massive, lol. The disappointment here for me was the pie. In fairness to them, I have crazy high standards for chocolate pie and it's truly rare for a place to meet them -- my mom makes my favorite. There was a LOT of pretty flavorless meringue, which I scraped off. Underneath it, the chocolate pudding/custard just wasn't chocolatey enough for me. I like an intensely chocolatey pie and this one was just kind of bland. The crust was okay but if I had to guess I'd say likely the Pillsbury store bought kind -- understandable, since it's pretty good and homemade crust is a pain to make. Overall, though, I'd return for the pleasant atmosphere and tasty tater. Give them a try if you're in the area.

Oh, and my mother's favorite loaded baked potato with pork, extra butter, no sour cream. I did not call ahead and anticipated a wait. Thankfully they have their system down to a science; from order time to fulfillment for my order was less than 5 minutes! And while I was waiting on my order to be filled, someone was out taking paper orders for the line behind me. (Yes, I said line...and they weren't all patient. They must have been hungry.) I've heard it said you can't screw up BBQ, but you can, and they didn't. Given the "claim to fame" is a mild vinegar-based sauce, you can't hide much like you can with a sweet, ketchup-y sauce. I wish I had a scale, because I swear there was more than 5# of meat, and 1/2 gal was a LOT of cole slaw. A lesson learned and note to the wise: when they say 3 oz per sandwich when figuring how much you will need for a crowd, go with their approximation. Ever the consummate Southern hostess, I was afraid of running out of food & ordered this larger amount. Never ran out, everyone was full and lots of leftover pork was frozen. My mother's potato was exactly as ordered, texture was great for cutting and she made 2 meals out of it. This BBQ location is a go-to for our family. Always happy to have the opportunity to get it when in town. Think I'll try the turkey next...

I'm honestly not sure if there's any indoor dining or not, but it worked out fine for me. They were reasonably busy at around 1 PM - maybe 3 cars ahead of me. I got through quickly enough and was able to place my order probably in less than 10 minutes. The menu isn't super easily viewable from the line so know what you want beforehand! The lady at the window was pleasant enough. I ordered a pulled pork potato and a large (they mean it when they say large!) sweet tea. I thought the price was VERY reasonable - I got out for only around $12 for a plenty large lunch. As far as bbq taters go, this isn't the monstrously large kind you'll find at Lawlers or the nearby Pigskin BBQ, but it is certainly big enough for a filling meal. The potato was cooked nicely. I was pretty happy with the pork, too -- good consistency/pull, and I could actually taste the smoke! My one complaint is that the sour cream and whipped butter spread (not real butter) came on the side. I very much prefer restaurants to apply those ingredients themselves so they can melt into the potato beneath the hot meat and cheese. Also, real butter would've been my preference, lol. Overall though, very solid potato and bbq for a very reasonable price. I would certainly return for a tasty local lunch.
