Boiled crawfish platter and fried pickles

You can't beat Tim's for authentic Cajun food esp their boiled crawfish. They even got the dipping sauce game on point. We had some boudin balls also not pictured but they are amazing. Great staff and service even tho it was slammed due to crawfish season but that's expected on Friday and Saturday nights. Their outdoor section with live music will make you feel like you're actually in Cajun country with all the decor and vibes of bayou life.

Ordered at 11:30 for a Noon pickup. Misjudged traffic and got there at 1215. Food was not ready for pickup. Finally got food about 10 minutes later, everything looks amazing but was soggy. I ordered a catfish PoBoy with fries for myself. Catfish had zero taste & fries were limp & soggy. 1 Coworker ordered a shrimp PoBoy, said his shrimp taste like rubber, same issues with fries. Last coworker ordered Wings, Jambalaya, & Fries. Same issue with fries, Didn't get to the Jambalaya, & the wings were "just okay". For a grand total of $70, this was NOT money well spent. Maybe I will catch the food truck this summer but I will not be back to the restaurant.

I've heard about Tim's Canjun Kitchen so decided to finally try it out. It appears the building used to be a Pizza Hut. With that being said, it is definitely a "mom and pop" type of restaurant. Its decor is definitely geared towards Louisiana, hence "Canjun" kitchen. The restaurant definitely needs some upgrades although it was clean. Our waitress/cashier was super nice and gave us great service. I ended up ordering the gumbo with fried okra and corn nuggets. The gumbo was good, however it was just too much rice. Less rice and more gumbo. And although the okra and the corn nuggets were very crispy (how I like it), they were served a little on the cold side. I almost asked the waitress to pop my plate in the microwave. Last but not least, I tried their famous bread pudding. It was delicious, but once again, it was on the cold side. Not sure if the food is actually cooked to order, but nonetheless it was pretty decent. Not sure if it screams Louisiana, but definitely will come back and try something else on their menu.

Food is excellent. Dark & dated furniture. Carpet flooring. Badass airbrush murals depicting the kitchen & restaurant. Daily specials. Excellent service. Fair price. Extensive menu and beer selections. Ill be back every Wednesday.

First time there. I love mom and pops with local flavor. This has plenty. Excellent value. Service was quick. Had the jambalaya with fried okra and deviled eggs. Jambalaya was served in rice, versus pasta with sauce, so different than what I've had before, but it was very good. I am not a Cajun connoisseur so not sure what authentic is or includes. Lunch menu served until 5PM when the dinner menu is served.

Food was EXCELLENT. The waitress was super friendly and even showed us art in other parts of the restaurant. I live in northern Kentucky and I would drive back for the bread pudding!!

Being form New Orleans I love the atmosphere at Tim's. The decorations and decor make me feel like I'm home. I stopped in last Friday to try their meat load special. A large chunk of meat load was served with a side of mashed potatoes. The other side was bread pudding and I love bread pudding. Their bread pudding is more dense that traditional bread pudding, but their sauce is spot on. The absolute winner of the meal was the roll. OMG! Their yeast roll was the best roll that I've ever tasted in my life. I told the waitress how much I liked the roll and she brought a couple extra to the table. So much for the diet, but it was worth it. The service provided by Melissa was outstanding. I need to return to Tim's more often. My ticket was $13.41 before tip.

Thalia was an amazing hostess! She checked on us every few minutes and made sure our drinks were full. She definitely made my experience at Tim's even better. The food was amazing and the portions were great for the price. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in hunstville

3lb crawfish platter with corn and potatoes

My wife and I went out on a Saturday night, and service was fast and friendly. This is usually our go to spot during crawfish season. Their house sauce is hands down the best around, and crawfish are seasoned well. We ordered the 3lb crawfish platter for $29.99. The crawfish were pretty large so we got less of them and unfortunately went home hungry. Not really something you like after $60 before drinks, tax, and tip. Restrooms could use an update.

That's a platter with a little of everything

Sometimes the food venue in a place like this can be terrible and over priced -- this isn't the case with Fern & Feast Bistro. The food selection here is pretty decent, sandwiches, tacos, salads, burgers, flatbreads etc, most in the $9-12 range. They have some kid options (chicken nuggets, grilled chese, quesadilla, etc) for picky eaters at $6 each. Downside is that the sandwiches etc don't come with fries or chips, so that could increase your meal price. I ordered the Uber sandwich because I feel like that is a good gauge of how the food will be and is pretty standard at most restos. Mine was served relatively quick on an environmentally friendly plate made if recycle paper products (I don't care all that much but I know some people will appreciate that touch). Club was delicious, but make sure to grab mustard and mayo. Bread was toasted just the right amount; it had some char but was not too dry or crunchy. Lettuce and tomato were fresh, and the proportions and amounts of the turkey, ham and beacon was great. But the best reason to come to this place is the scenery. From the back of the narrow seating area you can grab a seat that looks out over the Botanical Gardens or of you keep going back they have outdoor seating available. The weather was wonderful today and so I ate my sandwich on the patio taking in nature and avoiding the man with three children who all needed discipline in their life inside. If you're looking for a place to stop and relax with decent food while the weather is good - this is your place. Give it a shot!

This time, I ordered the Vegetarian Combo Sandwich to go, which includes veggie turkey, corned beef, wham, and chicken. I was genuinely looking forward to it, especially after hearing so many rave reviews over the years from folks in Huntsville and Oakwood University alumni. Unfortunately, my experience was a major letdown. When I got home to Atlanta and unwrapped the sandwich, I was shocked. The bread was torn and falling apart, and there were no condiments included--none on the sandwich and none in the bag. No one asked if I wanted any, and I had no idea I needed to request them. The only addition was a small portion cup of diced tomatoes and diced pickles... which did very little to help the situation. To make matters worse, the sandwich cost $21.26 for two--and honestly, I've had far better subs for much less. Given the price and all the hype, I expected something that at least held together and had some flavor. I know Stanlieo's has a strong reputation in the Huntsville community, but based on this experience, I just don't get the hype. Sadly, this was one of the worst sub sandwiches I've ever purchased. Come on, Stanlieo's--people are rooting for you. But at these prices, customers deserve quality and attention to detail. Until then, you all might be better off just heading to Subway. To be fair, the ambience is fine. The place has been around for a while, and it carries a retro charm that likely appeals to those with fond memories of visiting over the years. It still looks much like it probably did when it first opened, and I imagine that sense of nostalgia is part of its lasting appeal. But for me, nostalgia just wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster food quality.

I was told my order would be ready at a certain time (15 or so minutes), so I headed over. Surprisingly, there were empty tables and those who ordered at the register had no problems. The rest of us--who ordered takeout/delivery--got screwed. I went over to the spot that said "online orders" and noticed two bags of sandwiches, chips, drinks, etc.--neither with my name on them--so I stepped back and waited. And waited. And waited. Those two bags were never touched, announced, etc. Then I noticed the pile of sandwiches by where the cooks are that kept growing and growing. Those who dined in had their names called out. The rest of us I guess were just supposed to have ESP--I had gotten a text saying my order was ready, but these were just sandwiches and I had a combo. Finally, I walked over and explained and was given my sandwich--which had been sitting for a while. The hot sandwich was now lukewarm at best. Still, the lady (manager?) manning the register, got my drink and chips...but then I saw her. One of the cooks. Staring at me behind my sandwich with a death glare. Lady with braids, I'm sorry you were having a bad day, but I could literally feel that you wanted to spit on my food with your evil eye. Parking is a nightmare, the kitchen itself looked like a mess because sandwich parts were all over the floor, and I'll never forget that lady glaring at me just because I wanted my damn sandwich. I'm not going back here.
