    Oyster on the half shell

A top spot for fresh and delicious seafood, all of the items on the menu are Great from starters to entrees! I never have room for dessert but leave with a belly full and a happy heart. Your choice of plenty of seating options and open late. Servers are steady moving and accommodating. Seafood ambience with their Decor.

It is so easy to order. Either online or at the restaurant. This location is very nice and clean. Food is cooked to perfection.

    Baked oysters. Yum!

Four stars only because it could have a little cleaner. But 5 stars for the food. We had whole broiled flounder and it was delicious!! Perfectly cooked, great seasoning and very fresh! The baked oysters are also great. I could have eaten a dozen by myself! We had both garlic butter and parmigiana Beer was good and cold and they have the big bottles of mexican coke. Great place to stop on the way to Hobby airport.

Food quality has gone downhill over the past few years and the quality of the patrons have also gone downhill. Years ago, I would find it a pleasant place to eat at at the patio area and enjoy the nice beauty and quietness of the scenery. However due to changes in the surrounding areas, I cannot find any enjoyment in eating at the place we will just say, that the trash from the surrounding areas use that place as a meeting area to get drunk and out of control. Coupled with the foot traffic and the close proximity and the several incidents that some of my friends have experience there in the past, I find it prudent to order to go and eat in the safety and serenity of my home. I always order the seafood gumbo, which that night it appeared that they had skimped on the ingredients or the person that scooped the gumbo into the container did not attempt to make sure there were any shrimp, heck even the vegetables made it to the container. It was almost all broth and very little rice. Also the flavors were not there. In the past, the gumbo was so good, it did not need any additional condiments. However that night, it needed a lot of Tabasco sauce to make it edible. The Mate's Plate was absolutely horrible. The cornmeal breading was so thick (and bland) that I could not taste the shrimp (heck at that point, how did I know I was served gulf shrimp since I could not taste it). The breading in the fried oysters was also so thick that I could not taste the oysters, but rather the breading. French fries were terrible and I did not even eat more than 3. To make the fried food more palatable, I make my own homemade cocktail sauce with A LOT OF HORSERADISH, in order to give flavor to the food and hopefully breakthrough the overpowering crunch of the cornmeal breading. The Stuffed Redfish was so salty that it was not even edible. And the stuffing was also even salty. Was it worth the price I paid? Hell fucking no! Waste of money!

Fish filets are really disappointing. More like a fish nugget. Order for pappas is you want a real size Fried Catfish Fillet

Gumbo has a good flavor but no oysters. Just small chunks of seafood.fish filets are more like nuggets. Go to Pappas bbq for much better size for the price. This is embarrassing for captains.

I love this restaurant for an authentic southern experience and even better food. We have come here twice on business and left completely satisfied both times. We have ordered almost everything on the appetizer menu and we're surprised with the quality, flavor, and unique seasoning. I heard they have the best gumbo in town and I would have to agree, it was delicious! The boudin balls, spicy shrimp, and key lime pie were amazing. What I especially love it that this place is shaped like a boat so if you sit at the bar it is at an angle like on a boat. So cool! Service is fast, ambiance is casual, everyone is friendly and I will definitely be back!

This place was my rainout hang out starting back in the mid 80's when I lived in the vicinity. I knew all the waiters like Alfred, Solo, Isaiah, and the manager John at the time. All really great guys and fun to be around!!! They really made it a great dining experience always cutting up with the customers! The food was always great!!! Their cook at the time was a fellow named Van. Van could cook the best Gumbo, and everything else for that matter!!! His Gumbo reminded me of my dad's who was from Louisiana and was a great cook himself. The place hasn't changed much, a different bunch of people, not quite as lively as the original crew I was used to. The food is still good and Pretty much the came menu. I always went for the oysters on the half shell. And Alfred was the one who waited on me the most, he was a really great guy and we got to be good friends. I'm a little disappointed I one thing and it seems like most of these seafood places have really cut back on some things oysters being one. I've grown up in this area all my life and I've been around seafood all my life. Anytime you went somewhere to get oysters on the half shell they were always, and I mean always served by the bakers dozen. That means you were always served 13 oysters on the half shell, sometimes more. I guess since the oysters have gone up in price most places are only giving you 12, and on one occasion at this very spot I got less than that!!! I didn't say anything, but never forgot it! I ordered a dozen this last visit and that's exactly what I got, a dozen. I didn't complain add the food though is still just as good as it was when I first started coming here. I had ice tea with my lunch this time. Back in the day it was always a cold beer to go with my oysters. Alfred would see my car coming down beside the old golf course and set a beer in the bar. When I walked in all I had to do was look for the empty chair with the beer on the bar!!! I don't think these guys are on their game like Alfred and that others were back then, but outs still a great place to grab seafood and watch the traffic on the Gulf grea freeway go by!

Feels good when an establishment takes pride in their customer's feedback and puts a plan into action. Honestly, part of me was hoping that last time was just a fluke or an off day. This time around, everything from the service to the food was great. We had a 12:30 Sunday reservation for two and opted to sit inside this time. We ordered the cast-iron cornbread, chargrilled oysters, and a cup of gumbo each to start. For entrées, I had the Gulf Fish, while my husband went with the crawfish Florentine. Everything came out beautifully timed, almost like a perfectly paced three-course meal, which obviously made the whole experience feel elevated and relaxed. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. I also tried the prickly pear aid (non-alcoholic), and it was super refreshing, definitely worth ordering if you like a little tartness to cleanse your palate. Overall, this visit felt like a completely different experience than last time. It delivered the elevated experience a place like Eunice promises and what I was used to originally. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was disappointing due to both the service and the food quality. Our server was very slow throughout the evening. After ordering cocktails, it took approximately 20 minutes for them to arrive. We then ordered our meals... I had the burger and fries, while my girlfriend ordered the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were noticeably over salted. After finishing our meals, we waited an additional 15-20 minutes just to receive a dessert menu. Eventually, we decided not to wait any longer and went to Dessert Gallery down the street instead. While the atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant were excellent, the slow service and food issues negatively impacted the experience. Based on this visit, I would likely not return.

We went on a Saturday for lunch. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but if you're looking for good Cajun boiled crawfish, this is not it. We started off with 6 lbs (group of 4) of their regular crawfish. First off, they put the Cajun seasoning on outside/shell (!!), which is a cardinal sin for Cajuns. They also minimally seasoned the boil, so the meat was lacking salt and flavor. We ordered 3 more lbs with the "wet sauce" (garlic butter), thinking the lack of flavor may be attributed to this being the first-ish batch of the day. Nope, the second batch was even less seasoned than the first. The sauce was good, but it didn't make up for the unseasoned meat. The crawfish were a good size, at least... Come on guys, I expect more from a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant!

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16.
